Need some motivation ppl!

Quote  |  Reply
The title really says it all; I would really like some weight loss motivation. I always feel really guilty and awful after I eat more than I think I should. I know I shouldn't be so hard on my self, especially when there's nothing I can do, but I have been quite miserable lately. I have been trying to lose 15 lbs. and I do fine for a couple days, but then I overeat the next few days. Please help? What are the best techniques to get motivated?

Well, first, are you perhaps restricting too much?

Second, see if any of your friends wants to "get in shape" or "eat more healthily" with you.  If so, they can be a great motivator to go work out, etc.

Third, are you over-eating because you are hungry, bored, emotional?

You really need to analyze this because really, only you can say why you are over-eating.  Try to get to the root of it, and solve the problem! Perhaps you are the type of person who enjoys sticky notes with inspirational quotes, or reminders about fruits and veggies, etc.  Or perhaps you can restart, start eating at maintenance, and go down by 100 calories every other day for a week or 10 days, until you get to where you want to be eating.

Best of luck!

tyrdrop gives a good idea to start at maintenance which is your bmr ... google it and put in your stats...

also... learn what food are high in fiber... im always reading the fiber content and protein content on foods

i love Fiber One Cereal.. honey clusters .... 13 grams of fiber I believe and since I eat mixed veggies ... my count of grams of fiber goes up on the analysis

also peanut butter is another source of fiber and canned tuna is a source of protein

little by little you will get the hang of it... also, fiber fills you up more... so more water is needed and that helps you keep full... read my earlier journals you will see what i am talking about...

Thanks so much for all your kind words! C:
