I have been doing the stronglifts 5x5 and I believe I have gotten myself into an issue. I believe I have overtrained my legs. Though I'm not sure it's from strictly lifting but a combination of lifting and cardio.
I want to give lower half a break but I don't want to stop going to the gym. So I need something I can do this Wednesday and Friday for upper body.
If I was going to continue my stronglifts Wednesday would be squats, bench press, bent over row, pushup's and prones. Friday would be squats, overhead press, deadlifts, pull ups and reverse crunches.
Can someone give me some ideas for those two days to give my legs a break?
Oh and I tried deloading and just doing less weights with more reps 4x10 but my legs are still not feeling okay. I don't think I'm injured yet because it's not sharp pain, it's dull but not the same as sore.. I hope that makes sense.

Well, if you want to give the legs a break, just focus on the upper body.
Push-ups, pull-ups, lat pull-downs, bench press, etc. Do some mobility work, stretching, or get the foam-roller and do some soft-tissue work.
Or if the gym has a pool, just go for a swim.
I can understand not wanting to get out of the habit of going to the gym, but if you really need a break, just don't go.
Lastly, if the legs don't feel better soon, be sure that the achiness isn't something else. I had some weird mucles cramps/achiness and it turns out it was being caused by my cholesterol medicine.
Thanks for the reply.. I have definately thought about not going but man.. Does cardio count for not letting the legs rest? So if I was to do the bike (low impact) or the stairmaster, would that be okay you think?
I would love to go swimming but I don't have my suit with me :( That does sound great though..maybe I'll do that tomorrow!
