Hi! I'm trying to recover but I'm a little unsure of what my "goal weight" should be. My BMI says I am underweight. My pictures are in my profile..what do you guys think? I'm 5'2 and I weigh around 92-95 lbs. Thanks so much for your opinion. Reading everyone's post on this board is so motivating to recover!Smile

Hey Opal (:

I'm not sure if this helps you, but I am also recovering from Anorexia with bulimic tendencies. I am the basiclly the same height as you (5'2 and 1/2) and my nutritonist says my 'goal weight' should be around 107-115, and that's on the low end, and everyone is different. I'm trying to get up to that now, and its not easy, I warn you, but don't give up! It's great that your trying to recover, but its really hard to do it on your own. Do you have a nutritionist and/or therapist? Both of those can really help in this process. Anyway, goodluck with your recovery, message me anytime if you need anything.

Hey you are the like the same height and weight as me right now! (also recovering)

I think you should gain about 5-10lbs, I think it would look great on you... but I really can't tell too much how underweight you really look since your body is quite hidden in all of your pictures.

How much are you eating now?

I was eating around 1000 calories, but exercising alot. Now my goal is to eat at least 1500.. but that's hard to do sometimes.
I would say that more than 5-10 is needed for your health. I am also in recovery, but much taller (5'7). Your pictures show that you are gorgeous but that you are way way way tooo skinny. I don't want to come off harsh or anything, but you should be really upping your intake a bunch and also stop with the exercising for a while. I know this is scary, but you look like you have so much potential to be truely womanly. You have a great smile and a nice face as well but I would say that you should be aiming for the 110-115 range. Good Luck!

Well I think as u r 5'2 your ideal weight would be 108 lbs. At least as I remember Hilary Duff is the same height as you and she looked really gorgeous at that weight. Good luck with recovery

Hey!
I have basically identical stats to you and my nutritionist/doctor/medical team suggested my ideal weight to be 104-107 lbs...but then again each person is different.

Your ideal weight really depends on your body fat percentage verses lean muscle mass.  Your body fat should be around 24%.  Maybe get that checked out and find out if you need to loose fat % or gain fat %.  If you need to loose it, start doing weight-bearing exercises only.  If you do aerobics at all, do light-effort stuff.  If you need to gain fat, stop exercising for a while and learn to love sugar.  High fructose corn syrup, the bane of people with my difficulties, is probably your friend.  If it helps you to heal and recovery your womanly curves and, most importantly, your health, then it is worth having it around, isn't it?  I agree with the 108, I think that's a good start.  You may get there and decide you can afford a little more.  Good luck, and really happy you are recovering!

i really understand what you mean, i dont have any pics, but i am underweight right now 112 at 5 ft 6 and i really think that it is maybe like 5 lbs from where i want to be but being underweight is considered unhealthy so i am trying to maintain,  maybe i still see the chubby girl but i just think that the whole bmi thing is not right for my body type.  but that said,  i think you look good this way,  you could gain a few lbs too and would look good too,  stick with what your doc says...if you trust him let him guide you, he knows better than us.
