20 to go!! I need some saucy, supportive, soul-sisters!!
I'd like to start an intimate group with people who have a GREAT sense of humor, can be honest without being snide, don't mind divulging their ups and downs, and have some inspiring words of wisdom and support to share. I am looking for a few online accountablility pals to help me get over this last 20 pound hump!! I have lost 38 pounds. I know I am going to make it, it's just nice having some "slimming sisters" who have "been there" and are "going through that" to share the journey with. What do you say...are you up for the challenge???
Skinybum~ WELCOME! WE are a great bunch and I hope you enjoy us as much as we enjoy ourselves!
Moochie~Thanks for the conversions...I wont say this thread is helping me just yet (LOL...j/k).
All~Weigh-in is tomorrow...wish me luck at losing at least 1lb!
Take care,
Minx
Funny little pussycat arn't you! Watch out else I'll get the hose onto ya!
GOOD LUCK MINXIE!!! I can feel it in me bones.... your gonna loose a bunch of weight this week... I just know it!
Minx-I'm right here behind Moochie (but not to close or she'll hose me!) I'm rooting for you too. I want us all to be successful, and sexy and envied by all women for our accomplishments and oggled and drooled over by the men.
Skinnybum, you better write something so we don't accidentally change your name to something WE like. Let your voice be heard woman! ~Pussycat, or Pussykins, or what ever. Oh, I almost forgot. My daughter got a new kitten. Some of you think that BU's name is odd; well get a load of : Yodaburger. She says her husband wanted Yoda and she wanted Burger. I have no idea where she gets these wierd names from.
~Pussycat
Yodaburger.... I like it! My dog's real name is Ruscal McLarrikin aka larry for short!
I'm seriously wondering where Queenie is.... maybe she got so thin she slipped through a crack ![]()
Thanks ladies for all of the support. It must have worked because when I stepped on the scale this morning it was 153 on the first try (you knew comers have to go back and read about how I tend to move the scale around my apartment until I get a number that I can live with)! I'm down ~7lbs since we started this thread so WE must be doing something right![]()
Yodaburger...I love it!
Skinnybum~Get back here. Maybe she was really anxious to join but when she went back and read through the thread she decided to run for her life
.
WHERE IS THE QUEEN??? i agree with Moochie, she must have lost so much weight that she just disappeared off the face of the earth!!! Come back Queen, we miss you!!!
Minx, a one-step weigh in! Yea for you!! I knew you could do it. Way to go girl! Mia, my daughter, sent me a couple of pictures of Yodaburger and one of my Granddaughters, Chloe. I'll put one of them in my gallery after I eat some breakfast. Must feed the beast. I sure don't know what to say about Queenie. When she doesn't hear from me she sends out the dogs. I will reciprocate here shortly.
Moochie-Larry seems like a great name for a Jack Russell! As I now think of the one that I knew (before it got squished) it could have been a Larry as well.
I was just thinking that dogs must be sent for JHo too. I don't know about Queenie slipping through a crack, but I could see her slipping off a bar stool. She better get her skinny arse back here. Horrible stories could be imagined and told with out confirmation that she's still alive.
~Pussycat
A Yodaburger is now in my Gallery. Second picture down on the right. Yodaburger is the hairy one. Chloe (the cutie pie) is one of my Granddaughers. (My daughters started young, not me!!) Chloe also has two brothers, Nick and Jacob. My other Daugher, Vicky has 3 girls and 1 boy. So count 'em; I have 7 grandchildren. I'm too young for that grandmotherly gray hair and comfortable old lap, don't you think?
It's been an uneventful day for me. I did make a pot of 15 bean soup. Woo Hoo! Hopefully Norm won't try and doctor them up. Last time I left a sign on them that told him to help himself, but don't you dare add anything to the pot. I think he dumped in some vinegar once. What was he thinking? That's right, he doesn't.
Still no Queenie or anyone else. You're probably right Minx; we scared her off! I hope not! That's all for now-my beans are calling to me. ~Pussycat
Hi there--
You don't hear from me because I hate to keep whining about my plateau. But let me take advantage of this opportunity, since I have you all gathered here, to tell you a little bit about my plateau. Plateau, step up here. Don't be shy. My friends, Plateau and I have been together since October 27. We know each other so well! But as any of you who are members of families are able to attest, proximity does not always make for closeness. Plateau and I are in a toxic relationship--so bad that I might actually harm myself (i.e., eat pumpkin pie, mashed potatoes and gravy, and turkey stuffing) to get rid of her. Now, now, Plateau, you know that's the case. Cute, she's trying to deny she would ever drive me that far. Trust me: she is more evil than she looks.
Now comes the time in the calendar that I must fly cross-country for the national Eating Festival, and I had hoped to leave Plateau behind. Yes, my husband and I are visiting children & grandchildren in Cincinnati next week, a visit that will be accompanied by Feasting. While I hope to chuck Plateau under a speeding truck before we leave, it may not be possible.
Sisters! I'm going to put my hand on the laptop screen now and pray. I want you to channel that support through the computer into the World Wide Web and SHOCK me with the good stuff that will keep me on track! Keep me straight! Keep me reaching for the lowfat turkey breast and away from the pie! Hallelujah! I know you can do it. I can do it. Yes! We! Can!!
Many thanks to Queenie, the Minxter, Pussikins, Moochie, and the newbie named Skinybum: I know you're all there for me when you aren't laughing bigtime. I hope to check in with you regularly and prove it was Plateau with the tire marks on her back and not me! But I have to rely on coffee shops and wifi for a while here.
JHo (leaving Sunday morning)
JHO--please take my Plateau with yours and throw them both out the window in front of a speeding train, or at about 25,000 feet altitude. I keep trying to give mine a one-way ticket outa here, but she won't leave either. Plateaus are like fish; after 3 days they both stink!
Please, please, whatever you do don't cave in to the temptation of the evil food buffet presented for your consumption. There's many items that I don't care for and I'm going to be a very picky eater on Thanksgiving. I used to feel obligated to take just a bit of even stuff I don't care for. Not this year. I have to remember that I'm eating for my health, and not to satisfy the host. Prepare yourself ahead and find out just how much of a pie is a serving. 1/8th, 1/6th ? and calculate the calories. I really don't think the pie will kill you. It's the innocent sounding things like fruit salad which my Mom manages to turn into the most unhealthy side dish ever created; all the whipped cream made from cream--nothing low fat at my folks house! While you're at it, just how much is a dollop of whipped cream for the pie. Is that worth it (you person that is afraid she's becoming lactose intollerant).
I really do wish you a wonderful holiday with your family and a safe trip for you and your husband as well. Damn the Plateau. Let your unexpected guest Ms. Plateau know that she is not welcome any more. Jokes over; it's not funny! Moochie, you don't have this Thanksgiving situation coming up, do you? I'm sure there's other days similar to ours that cause you just as much stress.
It's my bedtime now. Actually, I'm going to read. I have one email to answer tonight. (I think it's an old flame trying to rekindle something.
!!). Ahem. Cough, cough. ~Pussykin
Minx - Good for you... see I told you you would do it!!! My bones never lie ![]()
Pussycat - Your granddaughter is soooooo cute I could eat her. See has a face that would melt butter!!!! The cat is cute too but your granddaughtertakes the cake! I am not sure how old you are but you don't look old enough to have 7 grand kids! That soup sounds nice (i LOVE beans) probably best not to eat too much of it tho... ![]()
Oh JHo, I feel ya sister! Plateau's suck.... temptations are suckier..... Maybe what you need is a good old eating fest to send the skinny little wench plateau packing? It has worked for me in the past. I hope you have a GREAT time with your family... drive safe! We need you ![]()
I don't have Thanksgiving although I have made a Canadian friend here (she is here for her partners work - 4yrs I think) and she said she was going to do a thanksgiving feast since she would be missing out with her family. Not sure if she is still doing it or not. When is thanksgiving (she did tell me about 2 months ago but I forgot). I have Christmas coming up... drive 5 hours to Brisbane to see all my family and.... EAT!!!
yeah heaps of temptation there. I have been assigned to bring chips and dip! Good one Terri (my sister). We are doing a BBQ this year tho so lots of salad and I will take a nice lean cut of meat
It's the alcohol I have to watch!
Old flame....OLD FLAME... tell tell tell... you can't hold out on us Pussykins
My hubby gets back tommorrow sometime (YAY). You might not hear from me so often for the next two weeks..... I might be... um.... busy ![]()
MY GOODNESS... your right...
queenie has sipped off a bar stool and cracked her deliciously gorgeous head open and is bleeding to death somewhere... I wonder which bar she frequents? Could be one of many I presume... we really should do something... send out a search party or SOMETHING!!!
Okay I have officially lost it! I have been doing so much research for my assignment I have plain out lost the plot.... My daughter has left me to go sleep at a friends place so I am home alone... yup... gonna crank the music and break out a large rum.... there goes my good efforts this week! I did another C25k run today and did better (didn't take the dog) but it was overcast so I think it felt a titch easier cause I didn't have the blazing Queensland summer sun beating down on my either!
I am making sushi for dinner. I have made it before and didn't do too bad I just couldn't roll it very well so some peices looked a little mushed. I bought a $2 sushi rolling mat so I am equiped and ready for round two ![]()
Hear ye, hear ye!!! The queen has returned!!! I've missed you all terribly!!! I was SO touched catching up on the week's worth of entries. (Be careful, you guys KNOW I'm becoming an ego-maniac due to all my weight loss. All your concern has warmed the cockles of my heart, but it's also puffed up my chest!! **Which you'd think would be a GOOD thing since I've already gone from a DD to a C, but unfortunately I'm speaking figuratively, not literally!!)
Well, here it is in a nutshell...Monday I was at school until 5:00 (2 hours after "quitting" time), then I drove out to my parents' house to transform the "buffalo hides" with Indian drawings (butcher paper with random "symbolic" scribblings from 20 six year olds) into a 6 foot teepee!! I was there until 9:00 working on it. Then Tuesday, I had a training after school and then tutored after that, getting me home around 6:00 -just in time to help my OWN cherubs with their homework!! Wednesday we had a staff meeting after work, then I tutored another student at the public library, blah, blah, blah. Thursday, I had a parent conference (on one of my biggest behavior problems) that lasted over an hour, then I tutored, then I graded 3 sets of papers, getting me home around 6:00, blah, blah, blah. And finally yesterday, I worked frantically wrapping up our Thanksgiving projects, papers, etc... and took my family out to Jason's Deli for dinner. WHEW!!! Now I'm off to our school's "garage sale." So, I'll check in and write more later.
SOMEBODY STOP THIS CRAZY MERRY-GO-ROUND!!!
Kisses ~ Queenie ![]()
Hi all thanjyou so much for letting me comin.
I have a 5 yr old and a 14 month old...
I need to get rid of tons of weight, I workout 3-5 days a week, combination of weights - body pump and aerobic aka body attack. My problem is food...I need to control my portions...
I need lots of motivation, so I am glad I found you all..... I hope I can get to my goals....
Okay Ladies, we can all stop worrying over the Queen. I suppose we'll have to take her word for it that she was busy. No one could invent as lame an excuse as she did, so it must be true. ![]()
Moochie-what are your non-lying bones telling you about my plateau? I'm determined not to weigh in until Tuesday, one week from the day IT officially p*ssed me off. I love 15 bean soup! It has so much more texture than regular beans. I also put in some turkey ham and onions. To be a perfect meal for me would have included some corn bread. I had been measuring out the beans, picking out the ham so I had only beans, then weighing the ham and putting it back in with the beans. What a retard! The ham has fewer calories than the beans, so why pick it out? Just measure out my one cup of beans (ham included) and be done with it. Log the calories for the beans only. I'm not going to worry about the nutrition differences since both receive just about the same grade.if analyzed. I will tell about the old flame, as soon as there's something to tell. As of yet, it's still regulated to suggestive emails.
Carpe Diem!--Thanks for the comments about Chloe. I will pass that along to her Mother. I think that sweet little thing had a run in with some scissors that her brother left laying around. I guess Chloe has a new hair style now.
I tried real hard not to laugh when Mia told me that, because she had done something similar when she was that age! And, you are right, I don't look old enough to have all those grandchildren.!
In my heart, I am young. Unfortunately with that youth came the stupidity and self-indulgence that I am now working so desperately to repair ![]()
Queenie-I really hope your little buggers appreciate all the extra work that you do for their education. I don't think that most parents realize that extra mile that is taken by our educators. I firmly believe that our children are our future. I vote for all school funding measures, and am saddened when they don't pass. It bothers me too when programs (arts, music) have to be cut or curtailed, however, long live the football team! Why is that?
Minx, where are you? It can be vicious if I have to hunt for you! Maybe you're taking your scale for a walk this morning? ~~ Pussycat
Skinnybum-OMG! You're here! Welcome to you my friend! You must have been writing just as I was posting. I'm so glad you have joined us. Feel free to tell us about your weight loss struggles, your accomplishments, your happy times and sad ones. If you've read back far enough in this thread, then you should know that "Girls just wanna have fu-un" Madonna sings it better. I'm sure Queenie will pop back in to give you her two cents worth. So, food is your problem..........? I'm done laughing now!
I think that is universal through out this site, and those of us who are brave enough the be here at this thread seem to be living proof of it. If I've said something inappropriate, Moochie will come hose me down.
She's got a very long hose coming from across the ocean! Deadly with it too. She'll even bring Larry the dog with her if she doesn't take an acrobatic stumble.
Any who, can't wait to get your motivation motor running! Spill it! (We won't tell
) ~Pussycat
The Queensters back.....
I am so happy you could grace us with your presence! Wow... you do alot of "extra" stuff being a teacher huh! I think it is wonderful that you go the extra mile for them... I know a few teachers that don't bother. Hang in there queenalicious.... I'm sure it will quite down soon.
Skinnybum - I am so glad we haven't scared you off. Please feel free to ramble on about nothing as we do... in a weird way it helps
Food....arh yes food..... I was left home all alone last night and the house was soooo quiet and there was nothing on TV and I was bored so I ended up eating 4 cups of oil popped popcorn and reading an article on sustainable development.... emotional eating.... it's my friend when everyone else has abandond me ![]()
Pussycat.... your plateau will be gone aswell. This week the scales a changing! It is Miss Plateau's vacation week... tell her it's time to hit the highway **** for brains
What is corn bread... I assume it is bread made from corn? (did I ever tell you I am smart LOL). I remember when DH was looking after Ariel (she was about 4) and I was at work and I get this phone call..
Paul - "um... babe... we have had a bit of a situation"
Me - "What... is everything okay"
Paul - "well, yeah... I just walked into the lounge room and Ariel has cut one side of her hair off"
Me - "WHAT... how did that happen... why did she do that"
Paul - "Well I asked her and she said she needed it for her collage"
That cracked me up... she needed hair for her collage so she decided to cut hers off to use LOL. She had a mullet hairstyle for quite some time after that.
Minx - I almost took my scale for a walk this morning. I was standing there... couldn't believe what it was telling me... and then the thought crossed my mind... should I move it to another room? Well hey, I would get bored sitting in the same spot day in day out.. maybe it needs a little tlc?
I didn't tho... I laughed at myself and skulked away.
Talking about tlc tho... I think there is something wrong with Larry. Ever since I shaved him the other day he has been acting weird. The first day he sat at the back door and whimpered all day.... then the next night he ATE HIS BED (he has NEVER done this - even as a puppy)... then this morning he looks all lethargic and sorry for himself. He is still eating so not sure... maybe he is pissed off that he is naked? ![]()
well no exercise today... gonna have a day off. DH said last night on the phone that he is going to start exerciseing with me as he wants to loose his gut... I think it is a great idea! More so for the fitness then the weight part (I love him just how he is
) We both stopped smoking a bit over 5 months ago so I think getting fit would be the logical next step. Anyways ladies... have a lovely day... I plan on getting some study in before my baby gets back from her friends place...
Moochie--Corn bread is yummy.
It's made from corn meal and either cooked like a cake (also known as Johnny Cake) or into muffins or pancakes. It can be eaten hot out of the oven with butter. Syrup is good on it too. I'm going to crumble my muffin (easier to count the calories that way) and put my beans on top. You can also buy corn bread mix (I use Jiffy or Betty Crocker), and besides being easyier than mixing from scratch they whip up in a matter of seconds by only adding an egg and some water and in some cases taste better. There's a lot of people that swear that the only way to make corn bread is to use a cast-iron skillet. In my house that could be a lethal weapon.
Just thinking of Norm's safety you know.
And, yes honey you're smart.........arse.
Just wait until Ariel has children of her own and you can laugh at that while she is livid! It is sort of funny, but not at the moment it happens.
I think Minx took the day off from here. Either that or her and her scale got lost. Perhaps he scale no longer lives and she had to bury the evidence somewhere. We need you Minx!
JHo-I hope you write something wise on this thread before you leave Sunday. Have you got your Miss Plateau packed and shoved out the door yet? You said yesterday that you didn't want to write because you thought you sounded whiny. Don't ever let that be a worry with us gals.
I think dinner is calling to me. Second day beans are always the best! ~Pussycat
How can I start my day with a smile if no one has been here since yesterday? It's 7:10 PDST. Come on you lazy arses! WAKE UP! Has everyone left on vacation and forgot to say good by?
Pussycat
Hey Pussycat - I just woke up a little while ago.... Monday morning 6.16am. Lost 0.9lbs this week and 0.1% body fat. Geez this is slow going. I am meant to be weight training this morning then an hours walk.... don't feel like doing much really! I think I might be getting a touch sick. My skin feels all tingly and the back of my nose feels scratchy and I have little bumps all the way down one side of my left leg... and I'm TIRED.... oh so tired!
Anyway enough complaining... I am going to go try convince myself to workout
Sorry people - don't really even have the energy to type! (ready one... two... three... awwwww) lol
Moochie, you better get well! You've got a husband coming home this week, don't you? I'm sure he wants you well so you can (
) exercise. Ya, that's the word.
I am sorry you don't feel well, hope you're better tomorrow. Yea for your weight loss! That .1 lb just wouldn't come off huh? I was beginning to feel sorry for myself because no one else had written today and I thought no one loved me any more
. I just about lost it eating today. Just crumbs in the bottom of a bag of chips. Thankfully I weighed the crumbs and there was 400 calories worth of crumbs! Other than the probably 50 calories worth I ate, I threw the rest away.
That sucks, as I really wanted to eat them. That would have led to a "what's the use" excuse (I know me). I made sure and put something disgusting on top of them in the garbage. I wouldn't say I was desparate to eat, but I was able to grab hold of that food devil and shake her out of my sorry self.
Hope everyone had a great weekend. I hate being by myself sometimes. BU slept all day, then moved 15 feet and is resting from that trip now. I can't seem to get motivated to create any new clothing yet. This is bad folks. I think I'll go clean the kitchen now. I see another mess brewing for tomorrow morning as Norm had some hamburger pulled out of the freezer. I think it's crappy meatloaf time again. I hid my oatmeal. I'm selfish with my food, especially when he takes some and doesn't even leave enough for me to have a serving for breakfast in the morning. I'll check in later. ~Pussycat ![]()
Hey Pussykins and you other ladies that actually have a life! I managed to do my weights and my hours walk - Yay me
. Must be one of those days... you sound down and irritable pussycat... I feel like that today too. One good thing - DH should be here any minute ![]()
That is good control Pussycat - good for you... I probably would have eaten the whole bag lol
Did the food shopping today and came across an interesting packet of Cerevite which is a High Protein Cereal. It is a blend of ground semolina, wheat germ, oat bran and soy protein. On the back it has a few reciepie ideas like muffins and making your own muesli... hmmm - I can feel some experimenting happening.
Priced some proper running shoes today (my ankles, feet and calves have been killing me in my $20 pair of kmart shoes. Especially when I run.) So I went to a special store that make you stand on this platform that measures the pressure on your feet and how it is spread out over your feet / your arc ect ect. Then recommends shoes that will benefit your feet the most. cough.... cough..... $160
Will definately need to have a chat with DH before that expenditure!

So you can log your weight -- which allows you to do the following:
- Plot your weight curve
- Analyze the trend of your weight (see under Recent in the figure above)
- Determine the projected target date (see under Overall in the figure above)
