I need someone to talk me out of binging.
have a crap day at work.
the thought of shoving as many whoppers in my mouth sounds so appealing right now. I mean I really am considering seeing how many I can eat.
AAAAHHHH!!!!!
Reason: Moved from Weight Loss to Motivation forum
So that when you're done you'll feel overfull and gross, wondering what the hell you were thinking? Is that going to make you feel better after a bad day? Or will it make you feel worse? Have a nice healthy dinner and maybe treat yourself to something you really like for dessert.
Or a cheaper option - I could go pick out as many chocolate bars as £5 buys you out of the vending machine.
hhmm chocolate or burgers
when i feel like that ...i do whatever it takes to GET out of the house!!
Go for a long walk when you get home ..or go to the mall.. anywhere out of the house!
Then come back eat a healthy dinner with lots of water. If you are still in the mood to binge ..LEAVE THE HOUSE again!
Just think how AWFUL you will feel if you binge. DONT DO IT. not worth it.
Problem is, I'm stuck at my desk for another 90mins!!!!!
Its ok, your almost done! That is really unfortunate that you had a bad day at work and i know you want to eat all the yummy stuff that will make you feel better ... temporarily. But then we know you will be upset about it later cause you'll realize that's not actually what you should have done.
My suggestion for when your finished work.... go running .. biking ... any kind of intense cardio that will relieve you of your stress or get your mind off it.
Exercise your will power! you'll be happy when you realize your accomplishment of resisting!
Thanks guys - I have resisted so far.
I'm off work at 9pm, so will get home asap and into bed....... without stopping for snacks.
I shared one of my urge stories in a previous post from another topic.
Maybe give that a read? Sometimes finding a story you can relate to can get you grounded again.
Best to you.
.:.:.:.:.
seriously don't do it. i had a half binge on sunday and it was completely not worth it. i weighed myself the next morning and was up a good 3-4 lbs from what i usually am so now i have to work my butt off this week to get back to where i was. and honestly it wasn't even that rewarding. i felt bloated and gross after and didn't go out with friends like i was supposed to because i just felt tired and yucky. so i am hoping you made it to bed already without eating though!
also if you get home and are still really in the mood to binge, pick something super low cal, like salad, celery, cucumbers, even fruit and eat your fill, while drinking lots of water. sometimes i just really want that full feeling, and fruits and veggies will really fill you up without ruining your day. tonight i got home from soccer and was really hungry. i got out the cantaloupe and grapes. after even a little bit i was feeling full. i had a few tortilla chips and didn't binge on them b/c i wasn't starving. then i had about 3 bites of apple and felt completely full. total cals was about 300, and i played soccer for about 80 minutes, so i burned more than i ate. and im not starving.
one more thing that helps me. i think into the future, as in about how happy i will be in the morning when i wake up and realize that i avoided a binge and don't have a big full tummy for the day b/c of it!
make a vow or an oath like say i swear to (.whoever...) if i eat a whopper or binge eat im dropping out of college lol be loyal and truthful about it and youll end up fearing it....... works if your faithful overall its your health think about your heart and cholesterol levels good luck ; )
I know this original post was from yesterday, but this is one of the biggest reasons I gained my weight. You are having a horrible day. Job, family, whatever. You think that you "deserve" to eat food that is bad for you because you're having a rotten day and the heck with it, I don't give a crap, right? It took a long time to realize (and I still have trouble with it) that food is not a reward, or a means to a better emotional outlook. It's fuel. Pure and simple. And even though I'm sure on some level you'll derive a small amount of satisfaction from eating whatever bad item of choice you choose, after it is gone, you'll still be having the same crappy day, and on top of it, you'll feel even worse because you just binged. Good luck with it. If you need some kind of distraction, get up and walk around for a little (I like to take my cell phone into the bathroom at work and play a quick round of Tetris, personally) but the food won't change your crappy day. It never does.

So you can log your weight -- which allows you to do the following:
- Plot your weight curve
- Analyze the trend of your weight (see under Recent in the figure above)
- Determine the projected target date (see under Overall in the figure above)
