Need some suggestions

I have been trying to lose some weight and have not be able too. I have lost inches, which yes I know it is good. I use to be a size 18 and now I can fit into a size 12. I am 5' 5", 40yr and weight 184. I have been stuck at that weight for 6 months. I have been doing deep water aerobics 3x a week, spin class 2x a week and started the Jillian Micheal's 30 day shred; which I have been trying to do 6 days a week with one day of rest.

I use to count calories, but stop counting and just ate. Nothing really bad, just ate. It did not effect my weight because I am still at 184. I am toning, I can see muscle definition in my arms and stomach. My pot belly/non-prego belly is getting smaller. But I want to lose some pounds.

I would like to lose 5 - 10 pounds, 10 would be better within 3 weeks. I am wondering if I  should cut my calories down to 1600. According to the tool bar It states I should eat 1950, but I have done that for a couple of months and nothing. I have over eaten to trick my body and nothing. I have eaten lean and nothing. I know I am gaining lean muscle, but at 184 I do not feel good about it.

I drink plenty of water. Seriously, I could hydrate a small dehydrated pond with as much water that I drink. I do not know what to do. Any advice would be soo appricated.

You have lost 3 sizes - that's nothing to sneeze at!

Honestly, I have the 30 day shred and it's hard work and it will build muscle. If you really are more concerned about the number on the scale than your body size, you might have to stop anything with weights. But have you considered getting rid of the scale and using a measuring tape? If your body is getting smaller, shouldn't that be what matters?

Maybe I am not eating enough.

Anyone?

DON'T FORGET- MUSCLE WEIGHS MORE THAN FAT!!!

Try cutting out all non-fibrous carbs...such as sugar, bread and potatoe products. Non-fibrous carbs are like eating sugar raw...your body will burn that energy first before your fat.

Look into vegetable alternatives and lots of them :-) ; I eat yams, zucchinis, squash, turnip or alternative roots instead of potatoes and saute them with olive oil and rosemary for flavour.

When craving something sweet opt for fruit instead.

Instead of bread try a lettuce wrap instead.

Cut out any and all sodas, fruit juices and drinks like coffee; opt for tea's instead...try herbal teas- there is one you can get from whole food called weightless in contains herbs that enhances your digestion, liver function to help process the food you intake better.

Also, try Acai juice- you can buy it whole food the original...I say don't bother with pills. There has been some really interesting things said about it. I just bought some and have it in my fridge at home...I'll let you know what I think.

Also, weight problems can be an emotional issue that you haven't realized you have or dissolved yet. There is an amazing book called "Heal your body" which deals with helping to resolve physical issues by starting on a path to find what triggered it and the positive thought process to eliminate it.

It describes Fat- speciifcally being overweight as:

Oversensitivity. Often represents Fear and shows a need for protection. Fear may be a cover for hidden anger and a resistance to forgive.

See if that resonates with you and try to figure out what the problem may be that is keeping you from slimming down. Once you have faced the problem, change your thought process and tell yourself that you are safe and secure and protected by divine love. that you forgive others and create life the way you want it.

I have found that this has helped me cut through many things that were holding me back or leading me to eat when I didn't need to or in reaction to situations. It helped me figuring our why something triggered me to eat.

I hope this helps? :-) Good luck...you are on the right path...just don't give up. Remember it is so much better to lose weight gradually and slowly than to lose it quickly as you are more likely to keep it off with lifestyle change rather than a quickfix remedy.
