Make it fun, interesting and enjoyable.  'Dieting' is often synonymous with repetive, tasteless food and teeth-clenchingly dull exercise routines....feeling deprived, having to say no to foods you love, hunger pangs... All very negative.  Turn it around so that what you eat is interesting, delicious and varied and so that your exercises are things you like to do.

If you enjoy something you need very little motivation to keep doing it.  Then the lbs look after themselves.

I completely agree with what was said above. If you have an exercise routine, mix it up. Maybe one evening instead of going to the gym-- make plans to go play tennis with a friend.

One thing that I did that may be useful is I bought a calender specifically for marking exercise. Then each time I finished an activity, I marked that activity with a colored marker-slash across that day. So even on times when I didn't exactly feel like exercising I'd look at the calender at how many times I have--and I didn't want those times to be for nothing, so I kept going.
