Need to understand the whole burnmeter ....

Quote  |  Reply

Eat Meter is 2300 cal

Burn Meter  says Total estimate 2880cal and  under that 1980 cal

I am getting confused it says I should eat 2300 cal a day but I have not come close and I am not dieting by any means I do not eat junk but can this be right?

I uderstand the burnmeter to be an estimate of what I burn all day and that I should eat less tha I burn to loose am I right? If so then should the lb's not be melting away? Or maybe my metablolism is slower than average ??

Anybody?

On your eat meter there are 2 numbers. The small one at the top is your target calories.  This is how much you should eat in the whole day (midnight-midnight).  The larger number underneath shows how many calories you have already consumed.  Be aware that the target number doesn't change if you exercise or add things to your activities.

The burn meter also has 2 numbers.  The top one is what it expects you to burn for the day based on the information you put in about your activity level (as well as your weight, height, etc.).  The larger bottom number is what you have burned so far.  The activity level will take care of things like getting up, showering, making a sandwich and general living.  If you put sedentary, you can add activities such as cardio or working out.  They will change the top number to reflect that you burned "extra" calories.  Remember, adding activites won't change your "eat meter" so you may need to eat more calories to make up for what you burn working out.

Hope that help you.

How do I update the goal on the calorie goal? I've lost 71 pounds so far, and it's updated the number of calories I burn in a day. However, it hasn't updated the calorie goal that I should shoot for each day. Right now, it has my daily calorie intake goal is 200 more than the estimated amount of calories I will burn. How can I update these things?

Any ideas?

You should be able to edit where it says under "My Account" " Account Settings".  You can edit a lot of things including your target calories.  I've done that several times myself gradually lowering my target calories as I've lost weight.

Yes, thank you that explains it well.

Thanks.  I'm a newbie so that was very helpful.  It was a good question.
