Need to up my fiber...like A LOT. Suggestions please

I'm trying to up my fiber to about 25g/day. I checked my analysis and apparently I've only had 4g today. It's 2 PM. I should be at about 12g! What are some high fiber foods? If you have any high fiber low cal foods that'd be great but i'm not too concerned with the cals at this point. Thanks all!

there are tons of easy (and tays) ways to get more fiber:

whole-grain breads, whole-grain cereals (fiber 1), fruits and veggies, carrots, raspberries, blueberries, apples, broccoli, beans, cauliflower, nuts, nut butters and even some yogurts have fiber these days.

ha, i just posted before about whether you can have too much bc i love the original fiber one cereal.  try having 1 cup with a cup of milk, and then i add trail mix-dried fruit, nuts, and seeds, a packet of sugar, and cinnamon, mix altogether, its delicious!

thanks that sounds yummy. it also sounds like it'll give me the poops (which i guess is what i'm aiming for?) lol

ehh, sometiems it does, but if youre not used to getting fiber, maybe start w 1/2 cup and drink water w/ it

I like the fiber one raisin bran cereal.  The other way I get fiber is these muffins that Trader Joes sells.  They are blueberry fiber muffins and they have 80 calories.  I have one for breakfast with some youghurt or banana.

Fruits, veggies, whole grains, nuts, and beans. You don't have to completely change your diet. Add fruit or nuts to cold cereal in the morning, or try switching to oatmeal. A side salad can pack lots of fiber to a meal without adding many calories. If you like pasta, give whole wheat pasta a try--you can also make some delicious, fiber-packed sauces from veggies!

I like the Ezekial Sprouted Grain breads.

My two favorite high fiber favorites would be Thomas' Multi-grain light English muffins and Fiber Gourmet pasta.  I also eat Kellogg's complete bran cereal and I add Fiber one cereal to my yougurt.  Yesterday I ended up eating 70 grams of fiber and was still within my calories.

KASHI cereal!! Lots of fiber, and so good.. especially the "crunch"

I love Nature's Own double fiber bread and flax-n-fiber bread.

I had the same problem since I'm a major carbo-holic and borderline diabetic.  My favorite fiber fillers are Nature's Own Double Fiber Whole Wheat Bread, Quaker Oats Peach n' Cream Oatmeal, Green Giant sweet corn nibblets, and Quaker Breakfast Cookies.  Ya just can't go wrong with cookies and they're healthy, too.  I hope this helps!

besides all the starchy things mentioned.... BEANS!!! my fav as i HATE beans are chickpeas! something about them i love! but anything else, peas, kidney, lima.... i can not STAND THAT feeling you get in your mought when you eat them i never have my whole life my parents think im nutso but ill eat chickpeas outta the can.... go figure>? anyways, fiber, protein and fat! very good for you!

i mix in benefiber w/ my oatmeal in the morning, it is tasteless and ups your fiber intake for the day

Fiber one has 3 different cereals that taste yummy.  One is a caramel that tastes just like cinnamon toast crunch.  It's soooo good.  Their granola bars are awesome also.  Kashi cereal is great too and has protein.  Any fresh fruits/veggies are good too.

Fiber One has granola bars that are way yummy - they are my dessert!  9 grams of fiber in them.   Also a lot of drink mixes now have fiber.  They are sold next to the Kool Aid & Crystal Light.  The one I like is at Walmart called Vita Splash Rasberry Lemonade - 5 g of fiber, 20 cals, no sugar.  It's sweetened (and gets the fiber from) inulin (chickory root extract).  It's less than $2 for 8 packs, each pack goes in a 16-20 oz bottle of water.

I recommend Flavor & Fiber bars (from Gnu Foods) ... the Cinnamon Raisin ones taste like a chewy oatmeal cookie! 130 cals, 3g fat, 12g fiber. They are sooo delicious! And no preservatives!

Also- Oroweat makes double fiber bread and double fiber english muffins...

I have a great "fiber upper" food: 1 cup of fresh raspberries has 8 gram fibre, but only 62 cal. It is not too difficult to get down two cups of those delicious berries for only 124 calories, and 16 whopping grams of fibre!

i add a tablespoon of ground flaxseed to my kashi golean crunch.  cinnamon is also a great option: lots of fiber, no fat & calories.

Kelloggs All Bran--it has 10 grams in 1/2 cup!

Fiber One has 14 grams in a 1/2 cup!  I eat 3/4 cup every morning, that's 21 grams of fiber...
