Hi all, I just need to vent to others who want to lose wait and need support. I am a member of another group; which was started to help a group of friends who want to loose weight. There is over 20 memembers in that group. They all live in the same state, except me. A website was created to help everyone get information and to motivate people, BUT there is no one on there! I have been posting almost regularly trying to get people to post and offer my support and to recieve support. BUT It is not working. I feel so frustated. I am not doing well at losing weight. I feel like I am the only one trying to get motivated; my motivation is fading! I feel as if I should just give up. I know that I should be doing it (getting into better shape) for myself and no one else. But there are times where I just need that extra push or support. Am I being stupid? So I have been looking for other forums to join. A little part of me feels like a traitor and another parts says "Well no one else is there to help you" Anyways. That is it. just need to share with someone. Thanks for reading.
Hey, if no one is active on that forum, even if they are your friends, you have every right to find the support you need for your weight loss journey. The fact that they all live in the same area probably has something to do with their lack of activity online. They probably prefer to see each other/talk on the phone, or maybe they aren't doing so well with their weight loss either and aren't really motivated at all.
Either way, don't let what they are or aren't doing dictate what you do. Continue to stay connected and try to help others in your group if they are interested, but otherwise, you know you're welcome here.
Good luck with everything and just keep reading on these boards to know that you can do it!
Thank you for replying. It is nice to hear encouraging words.![]()
Trust me that is not stupid. I know exactly how you feel. Losing weight can be super tough! I weight 210 and i'm only 5'5, I used to eat close to 4,000 cal's a day. I lived on fast food and drank about 40 oz or more of non-diet soda daily and now I am only at about 1,150 cal's and eating healthy. This is hard for me, but I have been so motivated until today, when I felt like I was gaining weight and not losing it! The one thing that keeps me motivated, it may sound silly but my friend is a professional body builder and he told me to remember one word "TOUGH" if you arent feeling motivated just tell yourself "TOUGH, you have to do it!" I thought it was silly but it has helped me out so much. Before you exercise make a goal, like if you want to run for 30 mins straight and power walk for another 30 mins, never let your goals beat you, you should always beat your goals. If you want to stop running tell yourself "TOUGH" and keep going, keep reminding yourself that the pounds are melting off.
There is also a website that might help motivate you, I know it has helped me it is mvm.com aka My Virtual Model, this site is free and lets you create a virtual you, facial features and all. You type in your curent weight and then type in your goal weight and it will show you what you will look like once you reach your goal weight and how you look now. Another thing that will keep you motivated is to weigh your self once a week and report to the mvm.com website and type in your new weight and you can see your weekly loss instantly since it is almost impossible to see your results in the mirror. If you need any support I will be here until May 2009, lol when I reach my goal. Good luck! ![]()
While I find CCP most excellent for it's log and nutrition info one size never fits all.
Take a look at SparkPeople.com, I find lots of people to share with, create your own page like Myspace, do things like Shutterbug, find local folks across the country and more.
I like CCP for what it does for me, it is now easy to track my food. I see I am eating below my stated intake amount. Now I need to exercise. I have not worked since 5 July and money is getting hairy but I am no longer an emotional eater. What I am is an exercise hater. With my reduced eating I could be doing some exercise but I just will not get started. hmmmm, maybe I might get up off my fat and do something, bust a sweat.
Look around, Google the world there is a lot to be found.
