I need to vent about Jon & Kate

A) Please stop saying that the fame and media attention you've gotten is unsought.  It's not.  You signed on to do a TV show.  TV is media.  And you continue to do the TV show even after the "horrible" stress of the fame has you so pissed.

B) What you are doing to your kids is child abuse.  They are growing up in front of the entire nation from birth... they literally have never not been on TV.  That's alot of pressure.  Young adults that areon reality TV end up with eating disorders and drug addictions b/c of the stress, so what is going to happen when these kids hit puberty (which is pretty soon for the twins)???

C) When asked if the show would continue Kate replied: "The show MUST go one"  Ummm, wh exactly must the show go on if you are so angry about all of the attention you're receiving because of it.

I'm pretty suer they're completely delusional about their lives.

Some of you don't have your facts straight. The kids have not been on TV since birth. There was a documentary done about what it's like to have sextuplets that was aired just after they turned 1 year old. Then there was another documentary done about a year later. Then TLC approached the family with the idea of the reality show. It was done due to viewer response to the documentaries.

I saw a few episodes of the show when it was first on and it wasn't exploitative and Kate wasn't overbearing at all.

While it's not great for the kids to have their family dissolve in this fashion and with this much media attention, I'm inclined to believe that the couple would have probably divorced anyway sooner or later.

 yep, mooni is right.

and i agree, divorce was likely inevitable.  the show will have made things more stressful for the couple, but it also made it easier (financially).  when jon was the only one working, i guarantee they had plenty of financial stresses to deal with...

Can't argue any of these points. I feel bad for their kids. An adult or even a teen can make an informed decision if they want to go on a show, exploit themselves to the media, etc. But these kids have no choice from birth. They may grow up to resent the lack of privacy they had no say so about.

if I had a chance to do something like that and make a GOOD living for my kids, provide for them in a way I NEVER could...stay home with them, enjoy them, love them you better beleive I would do it

I may not agree with everything, but if you see her kids interact with people, they are all secure and happy and fairly well behaved kids...

they may have made mistakes, but they are also doing SOMETHING right!

How many takes do you think they have to shoot every time the kids 'interact' with people to get one of them acting secure, happy and well behaved?

i was going to say the same thing as kae...

as easy as it is to say they're exploiting...lots of parents would do the same thing for their kids.  they aren't working (more time at home with the kids, in theory), getting to travel and allow them to experience things they never would have otherwise.

would i do it?  hell no.  but i hate hate hate feeling like people are watching me.  haha.  i can't even public speak.

the way they talk to and play with "stranger" isn't somethign you can fake.  I have kids...you can't do it

How do you know the person their interacting with is a 'stranger'?

have you ever watched the show?

The people that came with the custom bike for Jon.  The workers that came to build the play houses...going to all the places they go to (that they NEVER would be able to afford to go to otherwise)  Also at thier party, they easily interacted with regular kids...kids from school, they are normal kids...

what should they do? go on welfare? work 80 hours a week and never see the kids?  they found a way...they took it

they thought they would have another set of twins...they had 6 instead.  at that point too late...they did whatever tehy had to do...

I totally understand not wanting to do that yourself, but to get upset that someone is doing that...

unless you are in thier shoes...

You can make anyone look normal and happy if you film them constantly for 2 weeks and then edit it down to 45 minutes.

If the kids don't react 'right' to someone, they either film it again or it doesn't make it into the show.

and you know this is a fact how?  do you have  a friend on the show?

just saying you don't have to agree, but you don't need to judge either

And, if you want to make the mother out to be overbearing and overly critical of her husband, you keep filming takes when she is stressed out or tired or when her husband has gotten on her nerves and then you only show that portion.

Actually no children get to make an informed decision about how they want to be raised. Kids have no say in what kind of parents they get or what kind of jobs their parents take or how their parents take care of them.

i can't stand Kate so i don't watch... *cringe*

I can't stand reality tv, it all seems like tv for the hard of thinking, so I don't watch any of it...even the commercials for reality tv are tedious

look they edit ..it's just a fact..Have you seen recent pictures of her spanking her child...Have you ever seen an episode where she spanked her child--NO--- why ??? because they edit

that's true...no 5 year old ever gets or needs to get disciplined unless they are being abused and put on a reality show.

my kids NEVER needed it

Reality check: signing a contract to be in a reality show is not child abuse.

reality check: making them go through the dissolution of their parents on national tv is.

Even though Jon did sign up for the show, I feel kind of bad for him. His wife seems like a terror.

this i cannot agree with.  regardless of how much of a cow kate may be (and i'm sure she is...), jon still took off on his own and galavanted (sp?) around with young girls.  he kept repeating "i'm only 32"...yes jon, you are only 32.  32 with 8 kids.  i think he's going to turn into deadbeat dad of the year.

I totally agree.  Although Kate comes across as an overbearing witch, Jon is a simpering wuss, who is now whining about how he's only 32 and he needs to have fun, blah, blah, blah.  Well, guess what Jon, you were an ADULT who decided to get married, who decided to have children, who decided to use fertility treatments to have more children, who decided to be on a TV show, and who decided to cheat.  He needs to grow up and act like a man.

A) Agree

B) Agree

C) Agree

To your last point... yeah, I agree.

I only worry that J&K going away makes space for Octo-Mom.

OMG - you're probably right. Although I thin I read that she has a reality TV deal for a channel in Sweden or somewhere like that.

She makes me even more sick than Jon & Kate.  The week her kids were born she said in an interview that her plans to support them was by getting welfare and other government aide, but then with all of the attention she got her new plan was to support them by getting reality tv shows and doing paid interviews.

I think its digusting that you can PLAN to go on welfare.  Welfare is for people to use temporarily while they need it during a rut n their life... until they can get out of it and support themselves.  Octo-mom's kids should all be taken from her.

ha! that bolded part made me giggle! If only! Most people abuse the system and the actual needy people have to bend over and take it. anyone I've ever known on some sort of gov't aide was abusing it.

You are 100% correct in that.  But nonetheless the purpose of welfare is as i described it.  Too bad it in no way, shape, or form is implemented that way.
