Hi!
I am 5ft4 and 157lbs. I will get married in aug 2010. I want to reach 120lbs by march 2010 to be able to go buy and fit in my dream wedding gown.
I need a workout/diet buddy to share similar goals with me and to be able to encourage ourselves all together!
My workout plan is to cut down on calories and go back to the gym. I used to go 6x a week to the gym until i ruptured my knee ligament while playing tennis in summer 2007. I met my fiance around the same time and gained over 20lbs.
I really want and need to lose, I want to look fabulous on my big day!
I hope someone is interested to jump in the wagon with me. thanks!
Hi! I'm Nikki. I just started my junior year in High School and I want to be thin for prom! My goal is 130, so we have about the same amount to lose. [:
Hi! I'm 5'0" and weigh 145lb and I'll be getting married in fall of 2010 too! I'd love to be 125 by then like I was when I met my fiance 5 years ago.
I figure what I really need is to up my activity level and I hope to get a gym membership next month when my currently hectic schedule becomes a bit more regular. I also want to start just walking around town every day (that I don't make it to the gym at least) for at least 20-30 minutes and/or doing yoga.
My diet is pretty good except for when I go out to eat, which I do 2-3 times a week and need to cut down on. When my fiance and I cook we eat a lot of vegetarian Indian-inspired dishes that are super flavorful but really healthy.
Want to be "buddies?" =) My only worry is that if I fall off the gym-wagon I might stop being a good buddy =/
Hey. I'm also 5'4 and currently at 167lbs. My main goal right now is 143lbs by next summer, though once I've reached that I'll probably have a new goal of at least a couple of pounds.
For me, because I suffer from a severe lack of motivation, I'm going to focus on walking (once I get back to school next week I'll be walking roughly 3 hours each day) and not overindulge with food. I will, once I get back into it (and hopefully before my body starts getting used to and not respond to it) up my working out to become real work outs of some kind.
Dieting has never really worked for me in the past, but that could be because I've always done it alone and it would be great to have others to talk about it with.
We have several things in common and several things not in common. Things in common: 5'4", female, used to go to the gym alot, ruptured knee ligaments. Things not in common: weight (I weigh more than you), getting married in 2010, and looking for a wedding gown.
I have had over a dozen knee surgeries, which has led to my significant weight gain. I recent started a new weight lifting program and I am hoping this will help get me back into shape. I have some accountability problems, and I am hoping cc will help. I post in my online cc journal every day what I eat and what I do. This makes it a reality check and allows others to see and offer advice.
Hi, I'm new to this forum but am excited that we can motivate each other to reach our goals, that's essentially why I decided to join this group. I exercise about 6 times a week but lately its gotten boring and I've been over indulging in all the wrong foods which starts a vicious cycle of being less motivated to go to the gym and eating more questionable foods, lol!
I'm 5'6" and 188lbs, Uggh!! I would like to lose 33 lbs by the end of December 2009. Our commonalites aren't much other than losing the 30+ lbs, wanting a workout/diet buddy and needing encouragement. As of right now I don't think I'll be getting married in 2010 but you never know, I may be lucking enough to meet mr. right soon... lol... but for now just kissing frogs and some toads!!!
I must forewarn you that I have a vivid sense of humor, it just helps with life in general.... so what I can offer this group is:
1. Always a kind word, but some honest opinion when needed
2. Sense of humor and motivation
3. Exercises that have worked for me to tone up (not too long ago I weighed 260lbs! Got the last 33lbs to go!)
3.
My over all goal is to lose 28 pounds :) I am 5'4" and weigh 145. My goal is to be 117 by next spring :) I just joined this site on Monday and so far I think it's going to help! Having people to talk to is such a great motivator!
I have an idea: Why don't we all be weight loss buddies? :-) each day, post our meal/calorie plan and commit to a certain amount of exersize no matter what! like today, I have no idea when I am going to exersize, but if I feel accountable to someone I will make time :)
I also have a pretty vivid sense of humor :) It makes life interesting! Now lets all get up off our tooshes and lose some weight!
Hi Megs890! Glad to see another person join the group since I have did on Aug 13th. I agree, I'd like to have more interaction with the group, I too need motivation. I've only lost 3 lbs since I joined but am hopeful for losing the rest by the end of December. What type of workouts do you do?
-Sofia
At the gym I usually spend 1/2 hour on the elliptical/bike and then do some of the weight machines. I like to stay there for an hour at the very least.
But I LOVE Yoga and Pilates. Have you ever tried Bikram Yoga? The Hot Yoga? You leave there looking like a drowned rat (in all your sweat. yum!) But it feels so good! My only problem is getting to the classes. Yoga and Pilates are offered at my local golds gym but the Bikram classes are offered at a studio about 40 minutes away from where I live ;(
One of the reasons I love Yoga and Pilates so much is it tones but it's not over strenuous like cycling, even though cycling classes you burn about a million calories!
What about you? What work outs do you like?
Hey girls!
I am very fresh to this forum (about 2h), and don't exactly know how it all works yet.. but a motivational buddy is exactly what I need :)
A little info about myself:
I am 5'11" and weight right now is 264.. I am not displeased with my body - I learned to accept what it looks like a long time ago. But firstly for health reasons, I'd like to lose weight, and secondly, to be able to buy "normal sized clothes" is another thing that motivates me, and I decided to really really try to lose some weight. In 2006, I managed to lose 55lb in 4 months by just eating right and exercise 2 times a week. Then I gained it all back++. My goal is to have a normal BMI, and I'd like to be at 154, but to do it right, so at least using a year doing so. And I've tried, and tried, and tried, to be able to lose some weight, and this time, motivation is what's getting to me. The first time I lost the weight, will power was not an issue, and it's really bugging me how "weak" I've gotten!
Exercise-wise, I love doing martial arts, and I have been doing so, until July, and I have been too busy to continue, until now. So hopefully getting back into the habit of exercising will help a lot. I really enjoy exercising, but if I don't do it for a while, I go into lazy-mode, and will not want to continue doing it. I do have a gym membership as well, and as of this week, I am really determined to try to be able to go for this!
Also, happysofia, seeing how you used to be close to my weight, what factor helped you the most, getting started? :)
Yay! This group is starting to pick up again....
but should we make a new group with the name "Weight Loss Buddies" or something like that?? And then we can move on over there?
Emany! Welcome! I'm about a week old at calorie count and I've found it's a wonderful way to talk to people who have the same goals I do!
Thanks for the welcome. yeah, calorie counting is what I've decided to do, and it seems like a very simple way to keep track on how much you'll loose, yourself..
and yeah, I would be in on a weight-loss-buddy-group.. I have always been wanting to handle things on my own, but I really think having someone to talk to is the way to go :)
Hi-there! Getting started and needing weight loss buddies like you. I liked reading your replies. Everyone sounds optimistic and has a plan. Just want to say that I am getting started too and will contribute and participate regularly. In the recent past, I lost weight 25# within the year before I was married and really felt great! The bridal pictures are really showing me at my best and I have those to look back on for motivation now. You can do it! It is worth it! And besides looking great, your fiance will see that part of you that cares about yourself and that you do things to take care of yourself. My husband saw me work hard at losing weight and be successful. I want to do that again now! So Here I am 25+# heavier than my wedding day and want to lose it again. No excuses, and no stories. Just progress...daily progress... and when I need to start again I hope people will be there to say to me, You can do it!
Hi to all!
emany89 - I'm in the same boat as you. In 2001 I lost 55 lbs, and kept it off until 2005, when a bunch of life stuff got in the way and I gained it all back. I'm trying to find my motivation again. I tend to be lazy and full of excuses...
What type of martial arts do you practice?
And good luck you all you brides-to-be! What a great motivator!
-Donna
hi im wendy and im 5'3 i weigh 214 lbs before i cance to cc i was 218 but im just going on my second week i havent been under 200 in years and thats my main goal i was wou der if we could be weight loss buddies?
Hi Wendy, I don't know if you meant your post for me. I think you are doing great already! OMG! You have started off really good. Keep up the good work! And I would be glad to be one of your weight loss buds.
This group seems really nice, and supportive! I'd love to join your group girls!
My Story: I am 5'7", CW 189, SW 203 (2 months ago), all time high 229. I just recently started back at CC 2 months ago, I usually stop after the first month, so this is good for me. I work out 4-5 days a week with about an hour of cardio each day, and 10-20 minutes of weight training also. On the weekends weather permitting I go hiking, or bike riding. I have never worked out this much in my life! I just reached my first goal, to get below 190. Now onto the next goal of 180, my end goal, is around 140. That is the lowest I have ever been in my adult life, it was also my happiest. I felt great in my own skin.
I have been really dedicated to CC and recording all of my food intake, and been pushing myself to hit the gym. This is the lowest weight I have had in about 5 years. Its funny, even my skinny jeans are getting loose, lol. Which is great!
I'm really looking for more friends, to help support on their weight loss journey, and road to better health. I have one really great buddy right now, but more would be greatly appreciated. I don't know about all of you, but I am so tired of carrying around this extra weight, I want to get it off and keep it off
I need some weight loss friends, big time!
I'm 5' 5" and I don't have a scale, but I'm guessing 175-180 (buying a scale tomorrow), which is my all-time high. I want to be down to 132. And when I get there, I'm sure I'll want to be 127. It wasn't all that long ago that I was a hottie. I want to be really cute again!
Oh and healthy. That, too. ![]()
This is only my third day on CC, but I know the counting and accountability will be the only way I lose weight. I have a really nice recumbant bike, and this is my third day on it, trying to do an hour a day, get my metabolism going again. Basically, I've done nothing for a long time. Used to be a daily gym rat, so I really hope my body remembers I was nice to it.
I am also 5' 5" I am looking to lose at least 50 lbs by New years. I would like to start the new year with a new look. I am a tall person not very tall. If l could lose my stomach I would be that phenomenial woman.
Hi:
I also need a diet/workout buddy. Unlike you, I am short. I am a mesamorph (muscular person). Until about ten years ago, I maintained my weight quite easily. Now, I've gained an astounding 27 pounds in less than six years!
I live in Minnesota, so soon my noon walks will be history. It's hard on the knees, but I started climbing the stairs at work several times a day. There are 8 flights...and I am really out of shape, so I pant and struggle to do it. I'm trying to do it four times every work day. The one exercise that I have been consistent about doing is hatha yoga (stretching yoga) once a week. I've got a DVD (made by instructor) and I'm going to also try to do that a few evenings a week.
I also need to lose "belly fat". After menopause, for the first time ever, I have stomach fat -- yuck!
You want to look great in your dress, I want to look great in my bathing suit when I go to Hawaii (instead of having a bulging tummy). Let's work together!
I lost three pounds guys! it's starting to happen!!! Hopefully another 3 pounds in the next week! Woot!!!
I LOVE YOGA! I don't think I can say that any louder! :) Love love it! :)
