Hi there-

I am new here as well. I joined the site on March 27th and have lost 4.4 pounds so far.  I am 29 and 5'4 I weigh 176 right now and want to get down to 140 ultimately.  Right now I'm focusing on losing a bit each week. Nice to meet you both.

Hi Brie-

What is your weight loss plan? Right now my plan is eating healthy 1500 calories a day and trying to work out 30 min at least 4 days a week.

I'll jump in here, too. It's nice to have someone to chat with :)

I'm sord of new .. I've used the tools and such for over a year but the forums for only the past 2 weeks or so. I really like having the food log and calorie searches, mainly.

I think I might be a bit older than you girls but I hope it doesn't matter :) I'm 31, married going on 11 years, and a mom of six great kids with the body to show it, lol. I'll never have a flat tummy again because of the stretch marks and now extra tummy skin but it isn't so terrible that I can't wear jeans.. but they do look like the "mom jeans" for now! I think with a lot of work I can get decently toned up and look good overall :)

As for my weightloss plan - I have to account for the fact that I'm also nursing a baby around the clock so for now I'm eating 1900 calories daily and eating 2300 calories on Wed & Sun (instead of every 4th day). I also try to remember to drink a lot of water and take a multivitamin. I get in some sort of extra exercise or activity each day, but hope to start at least walking and using our elliptical (sp?) machine more regularly or even daily.

Hi Stephtobea-

It is nice to see you posting on this forum. I think your plan sounds real reasonable. I generally keep Saturday as my day to eat 1800 calories instead of 1500. Yesterday I went over board and hit 2200. I saw it on the scale today :( I am sure it is mostly water weight. I will just watch it today and drink water. I absolutely love this board it is very easy to use and helps keep me motivated. I am hoping to lose 15 lbs by July. Last week I was sick but I'm hoping to get back to working out this week.

Hi Step I'm still around. Not really wanting to talk weight loss though. My friends took me out to dinner last night and I sort of blew the calories with alcohol and desert. Oh well, today is a new day right.

Glad to see someone on here! I think it's good to remember that this is our life and not to just the road to a goal (being weight right now). We're here to enjoy our lives with friends and family! It's okay and Good!! to splurge occasionally.. it makes those times even more special and looked forward to!!

I count my calories daily but I eat whatever I want within them. Even candy bars or cheeseburgers! But, because I do like to eat in general and feel better when grazing throughout the day, I tend to eat more protein and fiber rich foods, small portions, and drink mostly water or crystal light (my dh got me hooked on CL)!

Like the other day I really wanted a dessert (xango) and also to try a drink (horchata) at a Mexican rest. so I did! It threw me probably 1000 calories over that day but I thoroughly enjoyed myself, don't feel guilty, and just contiue to eat better other days.

I don't want to look back and mostly remember how miserable I made myself denying me everything, I want to note that it was when I started exhibiting self-control against gluttony!! But as the Hebrews say "To LIFE!!" ( la hiem ?) !

I hope others are having a good weekend! :)

Steph -

I agree with you about where calories come from. If I want something I generally just make sure I have enough calories to eat it. During the week I stick to my calories real well. However, weekends are a different story.  I was only up on the scale by .8 lbs so maybe I did not mess up as bad as I thought. Today I will eat within calories and drink lots of water.

Hope everyone is well today.

Nikki

i'm a newbie here as well and would love to have some weight loss buddies.  i think it absolutely helps in keeping someone motivated to know that they have someone else in the same boat.

Hi thinagain-

Welcome aboard :)

I'm new too!!  I just found this site last night (on accident) and was pleasantly surprised with the easy navigation of the site.  I absolutely love it.  I am 26.  I am 5'3 and weigh 230 (my lifetime high).  I am "realistically" trying to get to 180.  After 180 I want to take another 20-30 off.  I need to get to 180 first and that is my primary goal!  I am also getting married in 5 months and would like to take off some weight and tone up a bit before then!!  I am happy to have found this site and look forward to receiving/giving support!!  I need that right now because those around me don't have to worry about what they eat and it affects my decisions ( I am a team player type eater!!)  Hopefully the added support can help keep me on track!!

Thanks for the welcome.  Also welcome nbrenner.  This is a very user friendly site, I agree.  My "realistic" goal is to get to about 180 as well and then I'll take it from there.  Right now I'm about 236.  I started about three weeks ago at 250 and somehow managed to get off some weight.  I've been eating totally healthier...I pretyt much cut out anything white..potatoes, bread...the only kind of bread that I really eat is pita..I've actually really grown to love the taste.  I also try to do cardio and some resistance training every day for atleast 45 minutes.  And Ihear ya on the "team player" eating thing.  We have some great bbq buffet places around here and since starting this eating healthier and living healthier lifestyle, it doesn't appeal to me anymore.  I only hope that I can keep it up.  Anyhow, enough of my rambling. lol Welcome!
