Needing to lose121lbs, new to Caloris Count.

My name is Joy and I'm very over weight. I am 28 years old and I have an 11 month old daughter who i can't keep up with. I am needing to lose 121 pounds so that I can be around and can actively be involved in her life. I have always been overweight and haven't given it much thought as I have stoped gaining weight and maintained the weight i have, that was, until i had my daughter. I had started gaining wieght and now that i'm getting close to be 50 pounds away from 300 pounds i have decided to do something about this.

I could use help, i need motivation in the fact that I need someone to keep me accountable. Someone that will help share my joys, my frustrations, and my ups and downs with. Someone that will shoot straight with me and tell me off if i'm slacking and someone that will be happy when I lose weight. I expect to do the same to others as well.

I hope that I can find some friends on here that will help motivate me to lose this access weight. Thanks.

Joy

Hey Joy.

Names Melinda and I am 24 years old. I've been on Calorie Count for a while now, and have actively lost 175 pounds and have kept it off for almost a year (Nov 11th marks my 1 year!).

Theres nothing anyone can say in one post that will teach you everything. Doctors write books hundreds of pages long, and they're overwhelming and daunting to read. So I won't write you an entire article here.

I did want to say that dieting can be overwhelming, especially with a youngin learning how to walk and eat themselves. Just don't bite off more than you can chew (no pun intended).

When I first started I was so overwhelmed. Dieting and exercise would be like learning a new language for me. So much to learn, and once you've made up your mind to diet you wish you learned it so long ago so everything would flow easily.

A few of my favorite sources are posted in my profile. Hungry-girl.com has helped me out a lot in finding food alternatives. Kraft.com has some great low cal recipes, this website your on will tell you how many calories you should be eating, and the great food log helps you keep a balanced diet (this website is HUGE once you start digging around). But it's nothing you can learn all in one day.

Take things other people say with a grain of salt. No matter what you read, you'll hear the opposite somewhere else. Sugar is bad, high fructose corn syrup is bad, white flour is bad, pasta is bad, carbs are bad, fat is bad, etc etc. It's enough to make you CRAZY. So just live life, make some changes, and you'll be okay.

I don't know if I answered or helped you in any way but I hope I have! You can IM me any time or PM my mail box with questions. I'm always looking for a good friend to chat stories with. I'm on AIM all the time, so feel free to pop on and say hello.

Hi Joy!  I'm also new to this site and have 100 lbs. to lose.  It seems overwhelming, doesn't it?  I'm 54 and I've been trying to lose for the past 20 years.  I do exercise 5 times a week which helps a little.  My daughter told me about this site - she joined in July and has lost 30+ pounds so far.  She has totally changed her eating habits and it's now a way of life for her.

My goal is to just focus on 10 pounds at a time.  If I can only lose 10 pounds, then good for me!  I just want to be healthier so I can watch my grandkids grow up.

Good luck!

Joanne

Hi,

I am also new, just discovered this site and seems to good to be true.....I am 33 years old and have a four year old daughter and two yr son. I do not want them to go down the same route as me and so really want to change and lose weight and exercise. I have lost weight so many times before and put twice as much back on. I am currently at one of my biggest points - 271 pounds and want to get to 200 lbs as a realistic goal.  we can try and all do this together as i do think that the key to weight loss is staying posative ( and not over eating every night!!!!!)

I got married in december and have put on 42lbs since then!!!!!

Hi Joy-

My name is Raven. I just joined this site and also have 100+lbs to lose.

Im hoping this site can give me the things I need to make a positive change in my life. I have always been on the heavy side and havent cared until now. I have health issues that need to be addressed and I need to lose the weight in order to have a long healthy life.

I too would like at least one person to be like an accountablility partner in this long journey ahead. I just have to tell myself it took a long time to get here it will take a long time to go backSmile.

If you want to keep in touch please let me know!

Hope to hear from you soon!

Raven
