Really nervous. No period. Helpppp.
Okay, so this past month I had no period and I'm really freaked out. This is probably going to be TMI, btw.
I'm on birth control, and have been very regular since I started on it. This past month, I sucked at it a lot and often missed pills and had to take two the next day and almost never took them at the same time.
I also pulled about 4 all nighters and got three or less hours of sleep several times this past month.
I took two pregnancy tests, which both came back negative and I'm pretty sure I'm not pregnant anyway since I have no symptoms and haven't had sex in the past month. There was some naked messing around, but I don't think that that did anything. At least I hope not.
So, where is my period?? Could it just have been late because of stress/bad sleeping patterns/pill misuse? I started a new pack last night, since I don't want to get behind if I'm not pregnant, was that the wrong thing to do?
Thoughts?
Thanksss
It's not uncommon to skip one period. If you've been inconsistent with your pill dosage that can mess things up. So can stress, a poor diet, 'dieting', overexercising... lots of other things. Skipping two is more of an issue and skipping three in a row means you should talk to your doctor
Make sure you're eating well (especially getting plenty of carbohydrates, fats and iron-rich foods), getting enough sleep & generally treating yourself properly.
Missing multiple pills during the month can definitely screw with your cycle.
It's almost impossible to get pregnant without having actual intercourse - that plus the negative pregnancy tests means that you're almost certainly not pregnant. However, please call your doctor or gynecologist to ask how many pills you can miss during one cycle before you need to use back-up birth control (condoms) for the rest of the month, though. That's good information to know. While you're on the phone, you can also ask about the skipped period to make sure that starting the new pack was okay - we're not doctors, we don't know your medical history, and we don't know what kind of pill you're taking.
If you don't want to talk to your doctor or gynecologist, most insurance companies provide a 24 hour hotline that allows you to talk to a nurse, for free. You could call that number and ask the nurse instead, the nurse will know what questions to ask you to give you good medical advice.
I missed a couple of periods now and again when i was on the pill.
I went to the Doctors, he said that it was fine, and as long as i didn't miss 2 or more periods, i had nothing to worry about.
However, you really must make sure you take your pill everyday or you risk it not working properly. I used to set an alarm to remind me.
Things like stress do cause missed periods too.
If I was you, I would carry on taking the pill as normal, and if you don't get your next period, go to the Doctors.
people can lose their period if they dont eat well at least i do like it comes late
Went to the doctor... she said that it's probably my pill. Apparently the one I'm on stops your period after about half a year. I'm glad my old doctor told me that when she started me on it...
Anyway, thanks for the responses! Much less freaked now.
