6 years on - we will never forget- remebering the World Trade Centre

Quote  |  Reply

its been six years today - the awful events in new york and the world trade centre.

having watched a programme on tv in the uk last weekend and one tonight about the heroes - the ones who came to look for loved ones and survivors - the ones who had not lost anyone but still came to help - it bought it all back the terrible events and how lucky some many were but how unlucky too.

i know the U.K. still remember the US and all its people in our prayers - especially today.

A Prayer of Thought:

Dear Lord,

Please remember those who perished in the World Trade Centre on September 11th 2001. Their families and loved ones and friends need your help and guidance over this sad time yet again.

Never forget them - because we never will

Amen

We shouldn't forget those who died in Pennsylvania or at the Pentagon.
Fattypuff,

How very lovely of you to remember us today.  The UK is indeed our friend and I personally thank you for your prayers.

I fortunately did not lose anyone on this awful day, but our whole country lost something in that our world changed on 9-11-01 and we will never be the same.

Again, thank you.
The fact that we will never be the same is fuel for the people who attacked us.

We must never, never forget those who lost their lives.  But we must also never allow ourselves to give in to fear.  If we live in fear, we dishonor the memory of those who have died.
Fattypuff, thank you so much for posting this.  I was going to do the same.  My friend Joey, a fireman, died at the WTC and another military friend was injured at the Pentagon.

God Bless you Joey, for your sacrifice that day and thsoe brave souls on Flight 93 that gave up their lives, saving who know how many others.

May the souls of all those who perished on 9/11/01 know that we remember them, we honor them, and we love them still.
Thank you fattypuff for posting this.......I never knew anyone that died during 9/11 but Im not to far from where the plane went down in pennslyvania.

Ditto for what kallie said

May the souls of all those who perished on 9/11/01 know that we remember them, we honor them, and we love them still.

I have the military channel and im watching The Falling Man right now its all about the days that lead up to 9/11 and the witness accounts.
i saw that about the falling man in the UK - there is another one abuot the unsung heros over here tonight

Sorry if I caused offence - i did not mean to - remembering also all the brave souls from the Pentagon and Pennsylvania
im in canada, but i would also like to take a moment to remember all of those people who got killed. although i didnt know any of them, they will still be in my thoughts today.
Thank you fattypuff for your thoughts and prayers, and thank you kazrinya.  I didn't personally know anyone who died, but I think a part of each of us died that day.  We will never be the same... we will be better.  We will remember our values and not take for granite our freedom.
I know no one that died either... so the 3,000 deaths mean as much to me as the other innocent millions that are killed. It doesnt make a difference where they were born; that they were "one of us" doesnt make them any more special or meaningful (at least, it shouldnt....does it to you?)
Many of the people who died in the attacks were not born in the US; I haven't seen anyone differentiating between the foreign-born and US-born as they honor those who died that day.

fattypuff and others, thank you for remembering.
