There have been times when I've absolutely STUFFED myself full of food (usuaklly all healthy like veggies), literally to the point of pain-ish, and I go "OHH, I"M SO FULL," but there's still this empty feeling in my stomach, and sometimes I'll try to eat more. It's like, my stomach doesn't want more food (it's filled ip), but there's this specific something it wants that I can't solve to fill in that "hole". I'm not sure, maybe it's just mental but still. Could I be missing anything? I get TONS of fiber and water, I
do you get enough protein? i think its usually protein that gives the satisfied feeling
I get tons, usually at LEAST 25%, usually more grams of protein. Even more like 30% some days. Then carbs are usually 50-60% ish.
I have this feeling daily. Feeling of not be satisfied. Totally doesn't help when trying to count calories. I just love all the wrong foods and am not as fond of the right ones. I cannot get satisfied with broccoli and chicken (or whatever). not to say that that stuff doesn't taste good per say, just when I want chicken wings or pizza or taco bell, veggies and lean protein is just not gonna cut the mustard. Nor does any of the "healthy swaps". Similar, but not the same and half the time I cave and get what I wanted anyway.
I just try to have what I want maybe once a week if its small or once a month if its a little more caloric (like pineapple thai curry....yum...but steep at 800-900 calories/serving when you include the rice). I also have a mini milky way just about daily to curb the candy cravings. Helps to have something to look forward to.
What sk33ny says, and don't forget that you need some fats too. So it's definitely ok to eat lots of fruit and veggies as they fill you up and are full of good stuff, but have some proteins and fats with each meal too, snack on nuts etc :)
So maybe try eating a little less but a little more of foods that keep you fuller longer - and protein is great for that. Spread your meals throughout the day too - I try to get in three square meals and three snacks, it works for me :)
I also found that if I'm still peckish even though I've had a very balanced, filling meal, having a glass of water and waiting 10 minutes to see if I'm still really hungry can help. Or having a low-cal hot chocolate or a cup of hot milk can definitely reduce those cravings.

Hmm, that sounds about right though. Maybe you're just not eating enough? How large a deficit do you usually have?
Or being too restrictive? If you are a chocaholic for example and you find it really hard to completely give it up, have a little bit every day :) (to go with davefiredancer's advice)
But the thing is I'm not hungry, and I'll keep on reaching for more even though I can feel a super-strong tightening feeling, because it feels like there's the one spot in my stomach that's supposed to be filled that's not, but mystomach DOES NOT want more food.
Then I suppose it has to be a mind thing - and that can be hard to overcome. Try to ask yourself if you really need that extra food, and how it will make you feel after you've had it. Don't beat yourself up about it and try to look at it a bit more positively: "I didn't raid the cupboard today even though I felt like it!"
It's that part of your mind that wants it that's speaking, not that part of your mind that knows you shouldn't have it.
Try chewing gum, drinking water etc. and do something to keep yourself busy when you feel the cravings starting :) I struggled for a while too, but I don't have that many cravings anymore. It might take a while, but you can overcome it, just as so many other people have eventually succeeded :D
But I mean, it feels like something is missing, I'm not sure. Maybe it is fat, who knows. Maybe I'll try adding a little fat, see what happens :)
Your body might have been telling you that you were indeed missing something, and 30g of fat daily is no sin :)! If cooking use some olive oil, have a nice piece of salmon, have an egg, nuts...It sounds like you're eating pretty healthily overall, so keep it up, see what works best for you and good luck!
maybe its coz your bmi is 16.4 and your suffering from anorexia. try eating 2500 cals for a while. that should settle your appetite some

Oh I didn't know her BMI was that low...ok, annilexia, take a look at the weight gain forum and like fidget says, up your cals :)! I can't really help you here, but there's lots of great advice on here for weight gainers, so good luck!
I am not anorexic, I have a health bmi of 129 pounds at 5'6' with a MBI of 20.8 and I'm am definately NOT anorexic. That's very rude to assume something like that -_-...
You do not need to be underweight to be anorexic. Your screename certainly doesn't help your case either. And, ah. Then there's:

Hi there! I'm new to these forums and have struggled with anorexia for the past fivev months. I'm 5'7' (just about) and 105 pounds, so I'm not that bad, but I do recognize I need to gain weight...
So might I ask what's the truth, here? BMI 20.4 and an inch shorter than you were this time in December, or BMI 16.5 and an inch taller? And, of course, the contradictory statement.
I wouldn't call it an assumption on Fidget's part.
Oh that, my cousin had messed with this and id she gotten on, I had no idea she posted anything. Sorry for the confusion everybody, but the other post wasn't from me, I forgot my cousin had wanted to use my account to ask a question, and she wrote that, so it has nothing to do with me. Once again, sorry for the confusion :)
How many calories are you eating? We cannot figure out what you are missing until we know what you actually eat. We cannot read your mind. How old are you?
And from now on I suggest you log out of your account every time so that no one can hijack your account :\
Wow, I totally get the same feeling... Never hungry, never full. I guess when I'm "hungry" I get this pain in my stomach and I feel faint. If I'm full I feel bloated... Guess my body is just bad at sending proper 'food' signals... I find water, Gum, Sour things, and almonds really help with the weird 'must fill void' feelings...
Is my sodium intake too low?
You have nothing to worry about because sodium deficiency is extremely rare. In fact, there is not even an recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA... Read more
