I have slowly gained weight and taken if off but not entirely , for the past many years.  I would like to lose 50 pounds which is not where the charts say I should be, but is where I feel good about myself.

I lost over 50 pounds in just over 4 months with the "husband left" diet.  Not a good time or a good way to lose but at the time had other things on my mind. Slowly the weight came back on and I joined WW which was good for awhile but eventually lost its appeal.  Then someone told me about this site and since joining I have been losing slowly on my own but thought some support and a place to find some ideas would be good. 

I used to be very involved in sports, maybe too much as it took it's toll on my body.  I try to walk everyday but the alone thing makes it too easy make excuses not to do it.  As I try to make a new life for myself, taking control of my weight would be a huge step to taking control of my life after a very long marriage.

Anyway that is why I am here.  I am looking forward to a new (and thinner) chapter in my life

I have said hello before, but let me say it again for this post.  I there a mall close to you or a high school track maybe?  Many times you will find company walking in these area.  We have a mall-walkers group who walk there for safety and good climate.  Then there are the track walkers who are more serious walkers, usually.  Or little town in small, but we do have that.  If there is none, you might start one.

You  might be surprised how many people would like a safe person to walk with.
