I'm right there with you!
yay!!! doing the happy dance for you! :)
Haha, I'm not the only one to do the "I'm not obese anymore" dance!! I RAN to my one friend when I saw that a few weeks back. Isn't it great? I know I'd rather be overweight than Obese. Now I've got like only 4 lbs until im "slightly overweight"!! I can't wait!!
Start: 36.3 BMI
Now: 28.2 BMI
Goal: 22.5-23.0

Congrats meredith! Happy Dance!!!!!!
I started out with a BMI of 25 (slightly overweight for my 5'3.5" frame) and am down to 23.7 (have to average the BMI's of 5'4" and 5'3", I think that's how I'm supposed to do it).
You can do it!
Have a great Tuesday, I'm trying to take it easy since I have a cold but don't want to "under-do" it either. Guess I'll just try to keep my calories lower since I don't feel like doing a workout. Perhaps I'll take a walk with my son later today. Have a good one!

Congrats meredith, I know when I got out of the obese range and into moderately overweight, I felt how you do right now ...
lol, I'm still at 29.3, but my weight-loss has been VERY slow the last few weeks.
Yay for you! ::dances for ya::

Way to go! Mine dropped a little more to 26.8 and it says I am 'slightly overweight.' But, every tenth of a point it drops....the happier I am....it's funny how much difference just a couple of pounds makes.....I was 'moderately' overweight 2 weeks ago.
that's fantastic, meredith, i know you are really struggling with this, so that's a great milestone!! keep it up!
Hi Meredity,
My name is Carmen and I'm new to this site. How do you calculate your BMI? Please let me know so I can get on track with this. So far I am really enjoying this site.
I've been able to track my calorie intake and my sodium intake which is really great.
Thanks for you help.

Go at the top where it says "tools" and theres a BMI link under that. It tells you what your BMI is and what range that is (healthy, slightly overweight, moderately overweight, or massively superfat hugely overweight, which is what I was!).
Great job meredith. It is a great feeling to watch all the numbers drop!!!
Yea i think this BMI is wrong because it tells me im underweight and on other BMI calculators it says im a normal weight. Does anyone else find that?
Yeah...It says that once I get to 117 I will be underweight (5'4)...but that doesnt seem right....currently i am 129, and i am trying to get down there, so i can think of myself as "underweight"! lol....but congrats on all of you moving to a whole new weightclass! It is always an exciting thing!!!
Yea i mean i have no problem at all with it telling me that im underweight!
I have one more pound to lose until I'm 'healthy'.
when that happens, I'm gonna print that page out and stick it on my fridge! I was 'moderately obese' when I joined, and I sure wasn't prepared to see the word obese as a description of me. O_O
*happy dances for all of us* we ROCK!

Good job, but are these BMI things even accurate ?
They can't be right ?
They can't be right ?
I think a BMI is somewhat accurate, it should give you a good measure of where you should be.
It depends on your frame, and since that's kinda hard to tell, it might say you are overweight when you aren't, or underweight when you aren't.
117 at 5 4" is close to underweight I believe, I'm 5"2 at 125 and I wear a size 2, so you must be quite tinny :). You're probably still fine. Don't let yourself get too underweight, its just as unhealthy as being over weight (bad for your heart and body), But if it's just by a bite, than its probably just because of some inaccuracy. Plus, at different ages you should be different weights, I'm not sure how well this computerized BMI takes that into consideration.
When I was younger, I had my BMI and fitness taken at the university close to my town, by some kinesology students. It was a much more accurate messure. But this ones free, and will give an idea of where you should be. you can find your BMI through acouple simple calculations (can't remember them now), so the internet version probably just does them for you.
PS AWESOME WORK EVERYONE :) It's exciting to see not only results, but that your actually doing something good for your body :)
