Hello,

My name is Mike, and I'm here to lose quite a bit of weight. I've never really shared my diet experiences with anyone so this is a bit awkward for me.

I'm a 20 year old college student, studying for Nursing.
I am 6'5" tall, and I weigh 375 lbs.

I'm still able to walk to my classes, do yard work, go paintballing, civil war reenacting,  negotiate stairs, etc. well enough to get by. But these tasks are becoming difficult.

I'm here to lose weight for 5 reasons.

1. To look better for my fiancé.
2. To feel better about myself.
3. To have greater ease in the afforementioned tasks.
4. To take to my Nursing career better, walking all day in my current state would not go over well.
5. To be proactive about any health problems that would occur from my being this overweight.

I've been fat all my life for the most part, I came close to being thin my Freshman year of highschool when I lost 60 lbs in a summer using a calorie counting method, (seldom ever ate over 1200 calories the summer) and I was in a band, so I was allover more active. I envy my past self even though I was still chubby. People treated me better and I slept well at night knowing I wasn't disgusting myself with my appearance.

I'm confident about the emotional and mental aspects of my life, so nearly 100% of my lack of confidence comes from the physical aspect... Hopefully I can stick to my guns and do this thing finally.

That's my rant for now, I'll make a signature with my progress, should be entertaining.

Currently - 375
Goal by next year - 260

Hi Mike!  Welcome to CC and thanks for sharing your story.

You can also keep track of your progress in your profile, and you can set up a journal, either private or for friends to read.  Hope to see you here often!
Good luck Mike, lets fight and kick ass together :))))
Good luck!! You can do it. Support is key and congrats on the upcoming nuptials!!!!
Hi MIKE!
This place is like a family (just not like MY family, which is FULL of dysfunction)...

Anyways, glad to meet you, and remember... WE can do it TOGETHER!
Trish
Welcome Mike.  This is a great site and can be a wonderful tool to help you acomplish your goal.

We are all here to support and help each other.

You CAN do it.
Congratulations on taking that first and most vital step. Welcome aboard! Many people are on this journey, good luck on yours.
Thanks for the warm welcome and support everyone.

I'll try and weigh + post every week to see how I'm doing.

I'm trying to consume less than 2,000 calories a day, at my weight the c-c calculators say I burn about 3900, I'm not so sure about that, but still, I want to eat 2,000 for about 2 weeks, then try and see if I can cut that down to 1800, and 1,600 eventually.

I'm heading out to Fontana, CA right now so, be back in a week, we'll see what that does to me.

Ciao,
-Mike
