New Cal's killing me!

Quote  |  Reply

My new max of cal's per day is low and I seem to hit it pretty quick, looking for suggestions on tasty options that will fill me but give me options for variety.  Please don't just say veggies.....I need ideas.  My max cal's are 1271 which leaves me about 200 to play with after my 3 meals and it is a bummer.  Suggestions?

Redo them...apparently there was something off in the exercise function.

double checked and still 1271...not fun

do what works for you.  this site isnt entirely all-knowing and error free.   plus, bodies dont always conform to what the guidelines suggest is correct.  play around with the numbers until you are happy:  getting results and feeling satisfied with your plan.

I dont understand your a runner.  There is no way your max cals can be 1271 if your a runner.  1200 is the bare minimum just to survive.

Help me help you, what math are you using?

All I have been doing is going to tool and clicking on calorie target.  I make sure my activity level is correct and it calculates....as others have said recently the system has been giving lower numbers CC said they readjusted the system and lately it just keeps going down?  For quite a while it was around 1400, than I lost a little and it went to 1300, than recently I had my first race and also went a huge power walk....my scale actually said I'm up a couple pounds which is strange....but the point is I went from saying my weight is 143,142 even 140 to yesterday back to 144 and now the calorie counter wants me at that crazy number of 1271!  I do think it is too low, but up to this point I was maintaining and losing...now today my weight is again 144! I am baffled and I do think something is off with the CC program ever since they readjusted the counter....CC people what is going on, I know others have complain about the new counter as well?

I have the same problem. I am a runner and I hadmy activity level set at sedentary so my target was only 1200.

If you bump your activity level up, your calorie target should go up. Mine went up to 1740... quite happy with that.

I have been using the same activity level the one above sedentary and the amount of cal's just keep dropping!  I was at 1400, than 1300 now at this ridiculous level of 1271...crazy.   I have wrote to Ask Mary....hopefully we will get some insight soon.

The sedentary level means no exercise. If you are running (as I do) add your activities into the activity log and your burn meter will go up. My brun meter started at 1820 this morning, and is now 2150 after entering 40 min of heavy calisthenics into the activity log. My target is 1500 cal/day, which I bump up a bit to maintain a 300-500 cal/day deficit.
