New to CC, Buddies Please?

Quote  |  Reply

Hi All,

I'll reintroduce myself here, I'm a 23 year old law student.  I am currently 5'9 and 201 pounds. I'm looking to be back at a healthy weight (165-170) by New Years and hopefully 150-155 by next year.  I coach swimming at a ymca up here, and I'd really like to be able to set a good example for my swimmers.

I love calorie counter because of the accountability, but I figure if I have some friends to check in with it might motivate me even more.  Let me know if you want to be my CC buddy!

Thanks

Awesome! Great to have a friend.  How's it going so far? I know with me I underestimated my weight the first day on CC and had the dissapointment of seeing my daily calorie allowance dropped about 200  by the time I actually weighed in.  Oh well, seems to be going well regardless.  I've dropped around 4 pounds since last week; I think it's mostly water weight though.  We'll see how it goes.  Anything notable about your experience with CC so far?

Hey!

I'm 23...5'4 and 160. Im wanting to lose 40 pounds by January! I could use a CC buddy as well to help motivate me and encourage me. Its so hard trying to eat only 1200 calories a day and not get discouraged when I don't see the scales moving. Its only my first week but I hope the weeks to come will bring good news as far as the scales go!! lol :)

Hello, motivated people!  I'm new to CC as well.  I'd like to lose 30 more pounds by March.  I've lost 10 so far this past month, but I'm sure that pace isn't going to keep up Wink.  It's getting tough working 13 hrs a day and not getting much exercise.  Plus, there is so much tempting food around me!  Blah!  I got too much in life to accomplish and I certainly don't need health problems to get in the way, know what I mean?

Hi all.  Thanks for replying.  I understand what you mean ricanhoney32.  When the scales don't move it's hard not to think, "What's the point?!"  I've been reading alot of forum posts in here and it seems the best thing to do is to shrug it off and keep doing what you're doing; you're eating healthier all the same.  I find that the hardest part is the weighing and measuring of the food, especially being back in school.

Risenking, I feel you on the not having enough excercise time.  I find that if I allow myself a cheat meal (so that I get my maintenance calories in for the day) once a week on my least busiest day (these days, Sundays) I'll MAKE time to excercise so I ensure that even though I went a little overboard, it's not going to do too much damage.  I too have lost ten pounds in the past three weeks.  Let's hope it keeps up for the both of us!

Good to have some buddies!

That's great that you lost 10 lbs!  I am still sitting still at 170.  I joined an accountability group in which I have to submit a weigh-in every week.  Makes me feel like I'm on "The Biggest Loser"  :)

Hi, I'm 21 and 172 pounds. My final goal is around 125. I could also benefit from some buddies! Just let me know! I am hoping to lose around 30 pounds by xmas :)

Hi!

Would love to be your buddy.  I have to say that at least for me, this site _works_.  Now I'm down 15 from where I've started and it's been a month.  If you've got a goal and hold yourself accountable for it, it's generally not out of the question.  Good luck to both of us!

Hi, I'm 23, 5'8", and 177 lbs.  I was married in April and have gained probably 20 pounds of "happy marriage weight" since I got engaged in August 08.  CC thinks I should be 158 lbs and I want to be closer to 145-150.  I just joined today and would love some weight-loss buddies with similar goals for some added inspiration.

Hey guys!

I just signed up for CC today.  I'm 5'10" and 172 lbs.  I just graduated from law school.  When I started law school, I weighed 145ish.  The stress and a committed relationship led to major weight gain.  There is something about not being single that lets you get too comfortable.

I'd love to have some friends on here to check in with and help encourage each other.  I'd really like to get down to 150 in the next few months.  I have a hard core sweet tooth that I'm going to need to keep in check.  It's going to be especially hard with all the holidays coming so soon!  I love Halloween candy! Bad news...  : )

So if anyone wants to be friends, I'm in!

Good luck!

Jazzcady and Panchita - Hello! I am also 21, 5"3'  and around 155 lbs.  I used to be a skinny little thing in high school and then there was college and beer.  Now I am looking at pictures of myself, saying, "who is that?".  I want to lose it but I am not a very patient person and I have 0 motivation to go to the gym...Im trying this 1000 calorie diet thing but with work and all the food they bring here its hard to stick to it.  I am looking for someone to buddie up with and loose about 30-35 lbs together!
