hey! im F 19 and 5'8 , 160 pounds and I am desperately trying to lose weight, i've slowly gained the weight over the past two years and i am FED UP! I've checked my BMI and it says i am right in the middle of the healthy weight area though i DO NOT feel the same way, i personally feel very OVERWEIGHT. im even sick of hearing myself complain. its hard to cut back on all the foods i love but have found that tea really helps pass whatever food cravings im having.

im just looking for others that are new and in need of support aswell as i want this to be a permanent change. im done with being unhappy with my body, time to take action!

I'm 20 F 5'0 and 155 lbs. I just signed on today because I started looking at my old prom pictures!

I am trying, trying, and trying. It seems that's all I'm doing is trying. My boyfriend is vegan, and he looks great (of course) and I'm going to slowly get into that lifestyle. I drink Green Tea a lot. It has the much needed caffeine and a little sugar, but the antioxidant benefits are great! Water will curve you hunger too.

My boyfriend also ordered p90x. But yoga or pilates is great too!

Hi!

I've just joined CC today for the exact reasons you have been talking about! I'm 21 and 5"4 and my BMI is also within the healthy range, but I always feel fat and heavy and that makes me uncomfortable and like I can't buy and wear the clothes I'd really like to! Without trying to make you feel bad, it's nice to know I'm not the only one who feels this way about themselves!!

I know it's hard because at our age we should be in shape!

Uggghh i know tell me about it kate. i have one major problem, i don't have a bathroom scale, i've been eating less for about a month now, but it's frustrating not seeing numbers...im too busy to go get one lol. On the other hand i've found that keeping track of my calorie intake has seriously helped, i can look at how i've been eating and when you actually see the numbers, it makes a greater impact on feeling guilty about eating too much or it can make you feel good if you're in a good calorie range. just makes you think a bit more about what exactly you are putting into your body

I don't have bathroom scales on purpose!! I used to, but I'd go in them every time I went in the bathroom and always hated seeing the number on it, which would make me feel awful so I'd comfort eat and then feel rotten for doing it! But I've got a Wii fit now which has a scale on it, so I use it for exercise but I don't constantly check my weight because I'd have to switch it and go through a whole process before seeing how much I weigh!

Hi! I am 19, 5'9'' and around 130lbs.  This spring I was around 115 and I had been around that weight for the two years before that.  Since then I've gained all this weight and I've been eating a lot more than I used to.  I don't know why my appetite's changed so much, and I don't know how to get back to normal because I am not happy with my weight now.  I don't have a scale, but I barely fit into my jeans now.  I will do anything to start getting back to normal, I'm just out of ideas other than trying to count calories.  I'd love any suggestions of little things I can start doing that will help with cravings and eating when I'm not hungry.  Thanks!

sounds like you have just gotten a healthy appetetite, 115 pounds and 5'9 is too skinny (definately underweight)! lol, 5'9 and 130 is the perfect weight for someone your height to be at, try to be happy with the way you are you're probably just developing adult weight, most women do. though if you feel this is definately not right for your body frame, i can understand. as for tips on what to do when you are hungry or get a craving, drink green tea or black coffee, works as a good suppresant. eat whole grains, nothing white or starchy or bleached ie: no white sugar, white bread, white rice, potatoes, no sweet potato. as for healthy things my favorite is an eggwhite omelette with fresh veggies, very low cal and tasty! also campbells veggie soups have around 80 cals a can. good snacks when you get hungry. celery is probably the best thing to eat, i have heard that it is - cal's.

anyways hope some of that helps!

Hi lp89,

I'm 5"7 F 197 and I totally understand where you're comin from.Losing weight is hard for me,too.Although I just off of Depakote(which made me gain 50 lb in 5 years)so maybe now I'll have better luck. When I joined CC in April of 2009,I started out at 214 and now I'm at 197.I'm glad I joined CC because now I have like-minded people to communicate with who are also in the same boat as me.I've tried WW in the past but the most I ever lost with them was 10 lb.I've also tried the Cabbage Soup diet and lost 10 lb.in 1 week but of course gained it back the next week.I hope that by going this way I'll reach my goal next year.I hope to hear from you:)
