NEW Challenge - Christ for Conquerors

Quote  |  Reply

For weeks we have heard of the Cash for Clunkers program to motivate and stimulate the economy and the auto industry.  You know, take in your piece of junk for a car, and you get a cash allowance for a trade in on a NEW car.

Well, ----

For the past few weeks, I have been reading your posts.  I am finding that we are under attack.  It is as if the enemy has pulled out his whole arsenal.

  • We have been under the attack in our weight loss plan.
  • We have been under the attack in our fitness plan.
  • We have been under the attack in our finances.
  • We have been under the attack in our family.
  • We have been under the attack in our health (or our family's health).
  • We have been under the attack in our jobs.
  • We have been under the attack in our mental stability
  • We have been under the attack in our thoughts.
  • We have been under the attack in our .....  The list can go on.

The thought that came to my mind is to run a challenge to find something positive in our day to Praise God.

The thought is to run a challenge called "Christ for Conquerors" with the key verses as....

Romans 8:36-39 (KJV)

36  As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
37  Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
38  For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39  Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

The Challenge:

Find something with in your day to give God the Praise.  Find one area in your life where you can see the Goodness of God.

  • We can report that we had clean eating.
  • We can report that we lost a pound.
  • We can report that we found a job.
  • We can report that "I had Jesus on my mind All Day."
  • We can report anything that is good.

For Satan can't dwell where ever the Praises are being lifted up to God because God dwells in the Praises of HIS people.

Philippians 4:8(KJV)

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

So, Come On In.

Trade your Sorrows, Heartache, and Pain - Lay them down for the JOY of the Lord.  [ Song ]

Praise God-

I did not read this before I posted something in another forum here.  Just goes to show how awesome our God is.  Wow...He just keeps amazing me so much I have to give Him praise..Thank you Lord

Sounds good Denna!   We had a wonderful 5th Sunday event today!  I got to sing with my in-laws (who are turning 80!) God has been good to keep them both around just a little while longer!

Praising God for a wonderful refreshing time at the women's retreat!  It is so good to get away from distractions and spend time with Him! Smile

What a great idea!  Focus on the positive, and not let the bad rule!  I praise God for cooler weather on my walk this morning - what a precious time to praise Him and a great way to start the day/week!

I am giving him all my Thanks and Praise today as I just found out I have been hired!!! Halleluah!!! What a tremendous blessing in my life and at the right time too! Hubby was getting overtime but now that has been cut back. So my heavenly Father poured out a blessing upon us!!! I could sing 10,000 Halleluahs today!!!

May everyone keep this post going with the positive thoughts as well as positive actions!!!

To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever. (Psalm 30:12)

Singing Praise unto God for HIS faithfulness.

Placed a phone call to the food service coordinator that I had an interview with last Wednesday.  She is waiting for the Assistant Superintendent of Schools to approve her decision.

I am still hopeful about this job / position.  The way I see it is....  If I was not being considered for this position, then she would have told me "Sorry, but we have chosen someone else for this position...."  But instead, she told me that she was waiting for the approval from her boss for her choice of a candidate for the position......

Praises to the Most HIGH for His direction in my life.

Psalm 95:1-3  (KJV)

1  O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.
2  Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.
3  For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods.

Proverbs 5:18  Let thy fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of thy youth.

I thank God for a loving wife, who loves the Lord and truly loves me without allowing her love for me interfer with her love for Christ.

Thank you Lord for letting me see another day.  Thank you for the 3.8 pound loss.  Thank you that this morning as I stood and washed the dishes I didn't hurt.

"Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things." Philippians 4:8 (NAS)

Lord I thank you for my loving sisters report and for the loss of 3.8 lbs.  I thank you also for the lack of pain this morning  and still look to you as Jehovah Rapha-you are still the Great Physician. Our God who can heal.  So thank you for Norma Jean.

Jeremiah 32:27 Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?

I had a follow up appt today and my blood pressure was great!  (and he didn't pinch the back of my arm with the cuff! PTL)

And the Lord provided another walking partner today when my friend couldn't make it.  :)

Received a letter via mail.  I was turned down for the job that I interviewed for last Wednesday.  Called my friend Norma Jean.

So, the Goodness of God in my day include my friend, Norma Jean, and my beautiful children.

Breanna with her "No, No, No, I Love You More Mommy...

Glynn with his hugs and kisses.

Thank You Norma Jean for your insight and being there for me.

Thank You Andy and John Michael for sharing her with us.  She is one special lady.

Thank you God for placing the people in this group in my life.

Denna, I'm sorry that you didn't receive the news you wanted to receive.
But as I read back on all of the posts that Mark, Norma Jean and Lorraine posted I can see how God is working in our lives. There are so many things going on behind the scenes which He is orchestrating that the only thing we really need to remember to do is to give Him praise. I know God has a better plan for you which I'm sure Norma Jean has told you.
Meanwhile, let us all focus on the things that God has already done for us so that we won't grow weary and faint but instead fly and soar like an eagle the way God intended us to do.

Have a wonderful day!

Denna,  keep trusting the Lord,  today's Our Daily Bread message was so timely for me and I forwarded it to my 16 year old son.  Back in June we applied for a zoning exception for him to attend a different high school that he believes will give him a  better education.  We received a letter that our request had been denied.  So, then we went to the school to talk with someone about a special program they had there, and God's hand led us to a meeting with a guidance counselor who discussed David's classes he needed as if he were already a student there, so then I decided to ask again! We were sent to a lady that wanted to help make this happen for us, but we again received a denial letter,  and the Lord reminded me to just keep asking! - so I went to see her again and she told us the next thing to do.  We did that and got an answer of no again,  I called her and asked what do we do next,  and she said to let her talk with the superintendent, and yesterday I got the call that he was approved!

"Patience means awaiting God's time without doubting God's love"(Courtesy of Our Daily Bread)

So this morning he started at the new high school (having missed the first 7 days) and I wondered why we had to go through so many little steps and the only thing I can think of was to show my son, how to ask, press through and wait on the Lord!  My son kept wanting to get negative and I would say, "hey God, knows better than we do on this, let him do it His way and it will better than anything we could put together on our own"

So, hang in there Denna,  Our Lord has a perfect plan for you,  keep on praising him and waiting on His perfect plan for you!

"For we know, ALL THINGS work together for good, for those who love the lord and are called according to HIS purposes!"

Psalm 75:6 For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south.

Denna I will continue to pray for you that God will answer your prayers.  But as the verse states above promotions come from God and no other place.  The job God has for you will come, I believe it.

I would like to share this with you, however, if I may, I have read your prayers and testimonies over the time I have been here and what I have seen is that even in the midst of your storms-God has provided-in spite of what may appear to be the final out come.

I am reminded of when Jesus and His disciples were at sea and the winds and waves were tossing about the ship-the disciples I would imagine were in a panic-such as we find ourselves in sometimes-hell on earth-trouble always on every side of us.  During the storm at sea, Jesus was a peace and asleep, and the disciples were in a panic-

God is the author of our faith and has everything under control-the disciples were panicking and finally woke Jesus up saying Master how can you sleep while we are about to parish?  Job thought I looked to my right and I percieved you not, I looked to my left and you were not there.  Mary and Martha said Lord if you would have been here, my brother would not have died.

Jesus told Mary and Martha it is a good thing I was not here, and He raised Lazarus from the dead-God asked Job where were you when I created everythig (paraphrasing)-and yet restored Job with more then he originally had and with the disciples Jesus rose up and rebuked the storms and sea by saying Peace Be Still.  But those are words we can apply as well to our lives when we are going through a bad period of time as well  tell ourselves Peace be Still to the storms in our lives - because we just need look no further than yesterday to see how that was the day we were worried about the day before and yet God brought us through it, as he has with you.

Thine will keep you in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee, because you trust in Him  Isaiah 26:3.

Keep trusting in God-what He has for you will be for you and no man or woman will be able to stop that in Gods time.  He is an on time God, even when we do not think He is working fast enough.

Lastly my sister - Walk by Faith and not by sight- sight will cause you to miss your blessing.

Mark

Today's Goodness of God in my life is the confirmation from God.

I woke up this morning with the thought that Christ was even physically in the ship with HIS disciples.  And these men was panicking when the storm rose up against them.  These men basically lived with Christ.  They ate with Him.  They slept in the next cot from Him.  These men were the closest to Christ (physically) as anyone could get.  But yet, they....  well, anyway....

Then to sign into the group and read the post from Mark.  It is a confirmation to the peaceful feeling that I have felt all day.  Peace Be Still......

I don't know what God has in store for me, but all I can do is to put my faith in His plan and in His time.

Psalm 119:64 (KJV)

The earth, O LORD, is full of thy mercy: teach me thy statutes.

Thank you Jesus for saving me and making me a child of God.

My husband, Andy, who every day takes care of me,our son and the household along with working nights.  I am so blessed to have a man who loves me so deeply and unconditionally.

My son, John Michael, who brings me joy with his humor.

The friendship I share with Denna!

The blessing of having not only Denna, but Lorraine, Maggie and Mark on the team here to oversee this group.  We are richly blessed with the knowledge only God can provide through this wonderful people.

My dental hygienist who is going to make a house call this weekend.

My hairdresser who comes every six weeks to pamper me.

Good morning all!

Yes Norma Jean I think we all have so much to be thankful for. You've named a few and for me, I'm thankful for God's love for me and His mercies which are new everyday. Today I don't want to take anything for granted. Everything and everyone that He's put into my life. I hope I will be the good and faithful servant.

Everybody, go out and enjoy this new day that our Lord has given us. I pray that our eyes will be open to all the beauty that surrounds us and our hearts will receive God's love and I pray that we all will be a blessing to other's.

~Maggie

Good things are happening!  The scale is still going down! My son got into the school he wanted to attend and completed his first day yesterday and he was like a little kid last night telling me every detail of his first day (and this is his 11th grade year)  Laughing

Also, my daughter is now asking to work out at the Y with me.  so maybe we'll find some classes there to attend.

I'm still looking forward to my 1 year anniversay on CC this December to see all the progress and changes God has made in me!

(oh - and today is my 26th wedding anniversary!)

Thank you Lord for letting me see another day.  Watching the birds and bunnies in the yard and how the Lord provides for them - I am thankful for the provision of shelter, clothing and food as well.

(Lorraine - Happy 26th Wedding Anniversary!  What a testimony I am sure you can share over the years where God has taken you.

It is exciting to know your daughter wants to work out withyou at the YMCA again.  You bothwill reap not only fellowship with one another but the benefits of  exercise.)

Thank you Lord for giving me another day to correct the mistakes of yesterday.
