The New Early 20s wanting to lose 15-20 pounds by X-MAS Group!
Hey Everybody!
Come join the original 4 members in a challenge to Lose 15-20 pounds by Christmas! Group will close on 10/3/2008, but will be open to the first 10 new members who would like to join :)
WEIGH INS WILL TAKE PLACE ON FRIDAYS :)
it's too bad we all seem so pessimistic about the mini goal. I think though that my weight last week was inaccurate because i drank the night before and i was probably dehydrated. so hopefully if my weight is higher i won't take it personally haha.
i took my measurments for the second time (first time august 4) and i lost 2 inches!
Yay Jane! Two inches is great! I wish now that I had taken measurements, but with the move I couldn't find my measuring tape. ^^; I have a rough idea though because I did tape myself once a few months before dieting, but I dunno. That's discouraging.
EVERYONE: Next week, do you guys want to post what you're having for dinner? I'm really torn on dinner ideas (especially cause my fiance is the world's pickest adult eater, haha!) and I hate just going back to the old stand-bys every week. I'm really curious as to what other people are eating!
I'll post what I'm eating too. =)
Great idea - i'm kind of bored of the same meals too
I also get REALLY bored of just giving in and having fiance's pizza.... =( He eats it at least three times a week. O_O
BTW Jane, not sure if you'd go check a reply comment:
It's almost like a whole piece of ham.
(For everyone else, Canadian bacon is only 20 cals a slice! Heck yes! Plus it tastes betta!)
Sorry I've been posting a TON but I'm pretty bored. =/ Trying to avoid a boring reading and nearly impossible paper tonight. I'll be up late. Gah!
In excitement for my dinner posts, I wanted to post what I had for dinner today! Thursdays are a rare day when I get to eat whatever I want for dinner because the fiance gets home earlier than I and makes himself a pizza. Not the most low cal because I ate too much rice, but it was super easy and could've been.
Grilled chicken with long and wild rice and bean and corn salsa. Delicious! All I did was cook a chicken breast on the Forman, got a bag of Uncle Ben's ready rice, and topped it off with some Target salsa. It even looked like something out of a magazine. ;-P
I'm excited for weigh day!
Last week: 156
Now: 154.5!!!!
Yay! I met the challenge but more than that, I'm now at a weight which I feel comfortable with. I've fluctuated between 150 and 155 for most of my life. Still planning on losing the last 14 pounds, but I feel like me again, which says a lot.
I'm back to 115.2 (2 weeks ago weight). But you know what.. I think it's more like I maintained because like i said last week I drank the night before so my weight wasn't completely accurate. 115 was my first goal, I am starting to wonder if I need to be 110.. I guess I'll try at least another month see how i feel. Good luck to everyone else!
Edit: As for dinners
Very often we bake chicken breasts, in either a fat free italian dressing marinade, or something some other kind of marinade, and on the side either a small baked potato, some asparagus, rice pilaf (microwavable), or sometimes we buy perdue chicken strips and chop them up and do a stirfry with rice or vegetables. sometimes i have a lean cuisine meal or soup. I can't really remember anything else right now.
Morning ... TGIF!
I usually weigh in on Wednesdays so I'll just post my weight as of that day. Its better than weighing in again today seeing that I've gotten so use to Wednesdays.
Anyway ...
Last week - 166.8
This week - 165
down 1.8lbs!
I'll totally take it .. I'm hoping that next week will be better with TOM gone.
Dinner: I usually just cook for myself most nights during the week bc I get home late from the gym. So most of the time its omelets or something quick.
so this morning I was 161, which is only a 1 lb loss... but its still better than going up :) Also hitting 161 puts me into the overweight BMI instead of the obese one, which makes me happy. I never thought I was obese anyways :) My dinners are my downfall.. its harder to control when I go out with friends and have my husband to please... last night I was just lazy tho - ramen soup and a tuna sandwich. However for the sandwich I used light miracle whip (which I actually prefer to mayo) and this really yummy light honey wheat bread that is only 40 cals a slice. In fact I have a tuna sandwich for lunch today too, with some fruit stuff also. And its almost lunchtime :) Tonight for dinner we're probably going to a friends house and I think the guys are bbq-ing burgers, but there will probably be some chicken there too, or I can bring my own. Then as long as I don't snack on whatever chips they bring out I'll be good :)
Have a good weekend :)
yay for weigh in day
last friday: 175.8
this friday: 173.8
2lb loss, I beat the week challenge and it was TOM so I hope next week is even better!
Erin: What brand is that bread? It sounds good!
Moesha: When it's my TOM I weigh less, I read somewhere on CC that you get more dehydrated during TOM but I could be wrong. Either way, good progress! keep it up
Hey Jane41
I am always 3-5lbs heavier what its TOM. Everyone is different but as long as I can remember I always gain at TOM! I wish I lost ha ha! I believe you get dehydrated which makes you thirsty and you retain that water... which makes me heavier. Everyones diff though, I'm just one of those unlucky girls that gets bloaty and crampy. ![]()
do you drink enough water?? I noticed once I started seriously having at least 64 oz of water i dont feel bloated much (ever) unless i JUST drank some water
Last week: 141
This week: 139.5
LW: 154.3
TW: 152.8!
So I actually did make the challenge! Sweet!
Unfortunately, I'm not sure about my exact weight at all anymore. The scale I bought over here was crazy cheap...I mean, I'm not going to buy anything expensive when I'm going to leave it here anyway. But it never gives me the same weigth twice. And I put something on the scale that I know weights 1 kg (the scale is in kgs) and it only read about .2kg, then .5kg the second time, then 1.2 kg. the third time. Humph. I'm going to continue weighing on the crap scale and just going with the average of all the numbers, but I guess my 'true' weight is going to be a surprise when I get home in December. Hopefully it's for the better :-)
As for meals, trust me. NO one wants to hear about what I eat for dinner. We're talking Australian dining halls...you just don't want to know. :-)
Great job this week everyone!
Jane - the brand of the bread is Nature's Own.
So for dinner tonight instead of hamburgers we had bison burgers. They were pretty good, tasted just about the same, except I think bison meat is leaner than beef. (Yeah, I just looked it up and it has a lot less fat: http://www.beechhillbison.com/buffalo_nutriti on.html). Along with the bison my friend made a salad she's been wanting to make all week but hadn't because she didn't think her boyfriend would really appreciate it or help her eat it. So I had leaner than usual meat and a salad so I actually feel pretty good about my dinner tonight. I didn't snack on anything else and only drank water :) Usually weekends are my downfall and I usually start them off horribly with Friday night.
Congrats on everyone's weight loss this week!

Hey, Yah I drink about 64-90oz of water daily. I have always drank a lot of water. When its TOM I nearly double that. Crazy!
so.... what's up with everyone? I'm hungry now! waiting for lunch
Hey everyone!
Who is ready for another challenge?!
We have two weeks until Halloween- and everyone will probably be tempted in some form or another, be it candy, cookies, alcohol, pot lucks, etc.
I challenge you all to resist!
No, not everything. I think giving into temptations can be healthy, as long as it's done in moderation.
In two weeks, I challenge us all to lose 1.5% of our body weight.
That means watching calories, working out, and staying on track.
Anybody interested?
so,
last week - 115.2
this week - 113.6
HOWEVER, yet again I drank last night :) - i just can't make it to friday! just a few glasses of wine though nothing horrible. so i don't know my TRUE weight. but.. last time i was 115.2 then the next week after drinking i was 114.4 or something.. so my true weight must be lower than 115.2 for me to weigh so much lower. i don't know.. but i feel thin today!
so let's see.. 1.5% of my body weight.. that would be about 1.7 lbs. hopefully i can do that in two weeks! I'd certainly like to try.. so i'm in.

So you can log your weight -- which allows you to do the following:
- Plot your weight curve
- Analyze the trend of your weight (see under Recent in the figure above)
- Determine the projected target date (see under Overall in the figure above)
