new exercise plan...any suggestions??
so i have been counting for a few weeks now and its been going fairly well. i know i need to exercise if i really am serious about losing weight though.
i have a few problems that may hinder this and i am hoping to get some advice on here...
first, i have severe asthma so any type of strenuous activity is out of the question, sometimes if i walk too many stairs i have an attack. this is a really big problem for me especially now that summer is here because my asthma is both heat and sports induced. so i cant even go for a walk or a jog if i wanted to because of the heat.
second, i cant afford/do not have transportation to go to a gym so that isnt an option.
whatever i do i have to do from my own home with no exercise equipment(we arent allowed to have them in my apartment complex). in addition to that, i cant do things like tae bo or other things that would have me jumping up and down because i live on the second floor and have neighbors below me.
does anyone have any advice for how i can exercise and start to look better while keeping all these things in mind?? thanks so much!
What about a combination of Yoga and somethnig like Pilates?
You could do something with hand weights and a yoga ball, that's what i usually do
I'm in a similar boat as you. I don't have a car and it's summer so I can't get to the school's gym so I'm stuck at home. I don't have asthma and I know that is hard because I have friends that suffer from it and it can be rough to exercise with it. I do pilates and I am starting to do yoga. You can find easy ones to start with on YouTube. All you need is a blanket on the floor and some space to move in. It's working great for me! I can feel my abs again and I know that muscle makes you consume more calories. The great thing about pilates is that it lets you gain muscle but you don't bulk up, you develop lean muscles. Yoga is good to do with pilates because it increases your flexibility and allows you to go further.
You can easily do some toning/strength training that doesn't require a lot of breathing. Get a couple of dumbells and do some lifting for arms, or use them as extra weight for leg lunges. :) After doing strength training for a few months now, I've found that it's great for toning up and staying active without too much strain.
