New favourites and old favourites survey!

I have some old favourites that I make/buy again and again, classics so to speak....but lately have noticed myself saying "It's my new favourite __!"

Anyone have any old or new favourites to share ideas?

Breakfast bars

Old fave: Nutz over Chocolate LUNA bar

New fave: Chocolate and Oat Fibre One bar, omg so yummy!

Vegetables

Old fave: Brussels sprouts braised in orange juice and finshed with 1tsp butter

New fave: Cabbage! Especially stir-fried...hey that's pretty close to my old fave lol

Fruits

Old fave: Fuji apples

New fave: Bananas. Can't seem to get enough of them, never used to like them!

Dairy product

Old fave: BioBest 1% plain yogurt

New fave: canterra cheese. It's a naturally low fat, sharp, hard cheese

Meat

Old fave: pork sirloin chops

New fave: Turkey thigh. Cheap, high in iron, moist and delicious

Dessert

Old fave: Skinny Cow ice cream sandwiches

New fave: Chocolate and oats Fibre One breakfast bar...honestly they're that good!

Haha, thinking healthily has encouraged me to try different things, which has actually added to my favorite list, and has caused me to dislike/cut down on processed foods.

Breakfast Bars:

Old Fave: Nutz over chocolate Luna Bar

New fave: Pecan Larabar

Vegetables:

Old Fave: Artichoke after being cooked in a soup, plain, or mushroom

New Fave: Since I haven't had that in such a long time, I will have to go with onions and mushrooms

Fruits:

Old fave: Mangoes, fuji apples, strawberries

New fave: Still the same! :D

Dairy product:

Old fave: Ice cream and cream cheese

New fave: Frozen yogurt/ice cream, cheese, and cream cheese :)

Meat:

Old fave: Seafood and lamb

New fave: Seafood, lamb, and rabbit

Dessert:

Old fave: Cheesecake

New fave: Mmmm...still cheesecake :) Or a bittersweet chocolate bar now that I've had so many to sample recently

Wow, I just realized that everything is pretty much the same, except for the bar.  Oh well, at least my list of food has slightly become less processed XD

Well, I guess I'll list my LAST previous favorite. There was a time when I was not health-conscious AT ALL, and then a time inbetween. I think I'll list those, and my current ones of course.

Breakfast bars

Old fave: Carrot Cake Clif Bar

New fave: Banana Lara Bar - simple, and so good!

Vegetables

Old fave: Broccoli - pretty boring now.

New fave: Red bell peppers and pea pods.

Fruits

Old fave: Bananas. The basics.

New fave: Raspberries and blueberries.

Dairy product

Old fave: Dannon Light & Fit sugar-free yogurt.

New fave: Nonfat, plain yogurt and keifer.

Meat

Old fave: Chicken breasts, and ground turkey.

New fave: Tempeh. Hahah.

Dessert

Old fave: Skinny Cows and fat-free ice cream. Bleh.

New fave: Greek yogurt with dates and flaxseed.

I don't really eat those...so...but I did try a Luna bar once and I thought it was ok.

Old Fave: The standard salad with dressing and croutons (more calories than one would expect!)

New Fave: Baby carrots! Yum.

 

Fruits

Old: Granny smith apples.

New: Peaches! I eat them everyday. They taste way better than apples, in my opinion.

 

Dairy Product

Old: Velveeta cheese singles

New: Fruit flavored yogurt, like Yoplait light. I just wish it didn't have HFCS.

 

Meat

Old: Good ol' cheeseburgers!

New: I actually love Amy's Bistro Burgers more than I could love any meat.

 

Dessert

Old: Oreo Cheesecake (yes, I know, holy crap!)

New: A scoop of Dreyer's Fat Free Yogurt Blend in vanilla (90 calories for 1/2 a cup! Sweet!)

Breakfast Bars:

Old Fave:  Nature valley sweet and salty bars, cashew

New fave: Oatmeal to go bars by Quaker - Banana Bread.

Vegetables:

Old Fave: Lol... none? but then again I only really knew of veggies in a can! I blame my mother.  Wait... baby spinach for salads.

New Fave: Roasted greenbeans... or roasted anything. mmm tasty.

Fruits:

Old fave: Strawberries, kiwis, grapes!

New fave: Mangos and pineapple! I'm clearly wayy to excited about fruits with all of those exclamation points.

Dairy product:

Old fave: Skim chocolate milk and ice cream but only from Coldstone b/c i was picky like that.

New fave: ... lol well i don't drink (cow's) milk or eat cheese anymore so uhh... i like tofutti cutie ice cream sandwiches.

Meat:

Old fave: Seafood (crab legs, shrimp, mahi mahi, tilapia!)

New fave: Hmm i'm not really into substitutes... but if i really am craving it then Quorn?! 

Dessert:

Old fave: Good ole chocolate lava/volcano cake with dulce de leche ice cream... well tied with brownies.... and any homemade cookies!  Okay so anything chocolate.

New fave: Vegan chocolate peanut butter banana cookies (a recipe that i found on vanesscipes)

Old fave: Kashi TLC bars in Honey Almond Flax

New fave: Clif Kid Z Bar in Chocolate Chip

Old fave: baby carrots

New fave: spaghetti squash

New fave: Cascade Fresh yogurt, simply because I think I need the live cultures

New fave: Though I still love ice cream and eat it in moderation, I am on a serious cottage cheese kick now.  There is no limit to what you can do with this miracle.
