Hi all,
It sounds like I fit right in here. I am 5'2" and as many know this height is def picky when it comes to weight.. as one of you guys stated its hard to hit the healthy point.. (either too skinny (which i have never been), too thick, too fat-- never just right). I weight 132-135.. and would like to get to 120.. i already exercise at least 3-4 days a week.. and i try to watch what i eat..
I really do not want to go back to cutting and watching carbs. That is a depressing slide down that i feel is not a permanent fix - its temporary.
i eat whole wheat and I try to stick with organics..
Any advice.. or people who would like to buddy up for support?
Also I am very stubborn,, but i can and will make the necessary changes for a healthy me
I'm in a similar fix, except I'm about 2 inches taller. I currently weigh 147 and I'm shooting for the 120-125 area. I used to weigh 181, but getting below the 140s has been very difficult. The lowest I've been is 141 since I started trying to lose. I used to weigh my goal weight, and I remember looking wonderful at that size. The carbs issue is what is getting me so far. According to my chart on here 46% of my diet is carbs and I honestly don't eat much bread, pasta, rice, or potatoes. I may have them two to three times a week. This is something I only started doing in the past two weeks, though. My weight started dropping again, but it still wants to linger and maintain. It's a bit frustrating when you're at the 1200 calorie bar and exercising every single day and eating organics.
If you find out some miracle remedy, please let me know. I've been stuck like this for almost a year.
Im not new to calorie count, but Im new to the group!
I'm about 5'3 and 123-128 pounds, its never any specific number. I was counting calories and exercising every day until I got pregnant, since losing the pregnancy, I became pretty depressed and gained about 15 pounds. I've been trying to eat fewer calories, but since the wethers been nice Ive been working outside and need a few extra calories or I feel like I might snap and start yelling at people (hypoglycemic) lol.
Im on the road to a healthier life, but its a little harder this time around to get those extra pounds off.
If you need a buddy, I could use one also.
I'm the heaviest I've ever been and have begun the tough road back to a better body.
I'm around 165 lbs and 5'6''. I powerwalk 6 days a week (average 45 minutes/day). I started 2 weeks ago, so I don't have any fantastic news yet. I was very inactive for about a year and a half, and I finally 'woke up' and realized I need to get myself in shape before it is too late.
Reading the forum I see a lot of different opinions about the 1200 cal diet. Well, I'm using that as my daily limit. Not fiercely strict but the calorie intake is what got me where I am so it needs to be cut down, drastically.
The calorie counter is a bit tedious to fill out. I've been using a regular notebook before and it has been a great tool. But I'm curious about the statistics and analysis part of the website so I will try to be diligent about adding the cals!
Best of luck to everyone! I do all this dieting/walking by myself so it's nice to have this forum as a support system!
Hell yeah kirbydestinie I wish there were a miracle cure... I sometimes think our medical profession does not get it right when it comes to weight... I do not understand why they do not take into consideration genetics, your heritage, and all the other aspects that play into weight when they do these body mass indexes and counts---
It’s so hard for us.. Especially when we turn on the TV, open magazines and we see the people we think we should mimic.
Katie1111- yeah I have never had to deal with the pregnancy stuff... but I have seen friends... so it sounds like you are doing amazing...
The depression is a real, scary thing-- especially when you just want to get back to normal (yet nothing is, your hormones, etc...). Just keep up the outside activity-- that always seems to make me feel a little better. And I totally concur about needing the extra calories when you start to go outside and move around. I get nasty or exhausted if I do not up my calories... for me it always seems to be extra breakfast food that helps... and thanks for the support... it always makes it easier
Cheers buddy :)
Rannva57--
Yup I agree the road back to a better body is a... well its a bitch... to get out of shape was easy... to gain weight was easy... yet to loose it and get healthy is hard as hell (and i have the slowest metabolism) I kinda hate tracking my foods but I also like the analysis and breakdown they provide-- kinda eye opening and reminds me why my bad days are REALLY that-- BAD days...
I wish they had more of a local support system because I too work out by my self and sometimes its really hard to push yourself-- there are days when I wake up go to work and when my shift ends-- I just want to go home and watch a movie and sleep.. And who is there to stop me? No body but myself...
So you -- well YOU ALL have my support- feel free to message me anytime :)
