New Forum Layout and Features!
We're extremely excited to announce we've just released a complete forum overhaul!
Here is a summary of the changes and additions we've made:
- Easier to read/navigate design - hats off to our design team for helping us incorporate many of the changes you all requested making the forums much easier on the eyes and quicker to get around. We've reformatted the user section into its own box above the actual post, widened the post area and added more posts per page.
- Hotkeys - we really do think this is something you will love! You can now use hotkeys on your keyboard to quickly navigate forum posts. Here is an outline
- Left Arrow (also the 'k' or 'p' keys) - jump to the previous post in a thread. If the post continues on a previous page, it will load that page.
- Right Arrow (also the 'j' or 'n' keys) - jump to the next post in a thread and traverse pages as needed.
- Home Key - takes you to the original post in a thread, no matter where you are
- End Key - takes you to the last post in a thread, no matter where you are
- 't' Key - takes you from a thread back to the forum listing (eg, from reading a post in the lounge forum, back to the lounge forum listing)
- 'r' Key - takes you to the recent posts screen
- 'u' Key - takes you to a listing of all posts/topics you have created
- 'f' Key - takes you to the main forum listings screen
- Quoting Posts - you can either choose reply (as usual) or quote when replying to a post. Quoting the post will allow you to reply with the original post quoted in a separate box.
- Fixed emoticons - A little bug previously prevented use of all emoticons, such as
These should all work now
In addition to these design and navigation features, we've made a number of changes to help our moderators. If a moderator deletes a message you have posted, a copy of the original post will now be emailed to you automatically. In addition, you will have access to deleted posts from your post listings page (hotkey: 'u'). Moderators are also now easily identifiable on Calorie Count Plus - just look for the sunburst logo next to a moderator's username!
As always, your feedback is encouraged and appreciated. Thanks!
Reason: Unset Sticky
I just wanted to share my thanks as well.
Great job!
Much nicer :) It'll take some time to get used to it, but.. lovin' it better already ![]()
*watches the site go on a quoting frenzy*
Yay the
is back! Thanks Eric.
This is great! I love the use of the keys (sign of laziness???) but what is the "home" key? Is that a PC feature (I am a mac person)?

Must be. It's one of the keys near page up, page down, etc. Maybe see if any of your keys maps to the same thing?

I'll have to search. Same thing with the "end" key.

Ok. It looks like tab on a mac is equivalent to the "home" key.
Now I'm looking for "end"

Thanks for the heads up plume - will look into and check on my Mac at home! If necessary, we'll make special Mac hotkeys
That would be great! I cannot find anything that would be the "end" key equivalent.
The bold, italic and underline aren't working in my posts in this new layout.
Why? :\
Edit: Nevermind, it works!
What does the "trend" line represent on the weight graph? Is it about where you would be based on history or a typical person?

I know this is an old post, but, I have a Mac, and I have both the "home" and "end" key. It's under the F14, F15, F16 keys .... maybe it's different on my Mac laptop, but I have it on my full size Apple keyboard.
sjshalott
yes, it's a laptop and there's no key above F12. But my desktop at work has the home and end key.
Thanks anyway.
Figured as much.... I hadn't tried it on my laptop yet, but that is usually what I'm on when using calorie count.... bummer.
