New to the Forums - Hope you'll say hello.
Hi. I'm here to just introduce myself and hopefully make some supportive connections and friendships as I embark on the journey to find my body under all of this extra weight. Maybe I'll find my self confidence again along the way.
I am an avid cook (have a cooking show online), come from a family of big, Southern women (all cooks as well) and I regularly have food and sweets around me. I have succumbed to the evils of fast food all my life and have decided to cut it out of my diet for good, starting today. I am a bit of an "Italian grandmother" as some call me because I equate food with love.
I have 60 pounds to lose and I'm starting my 1250 calorie diet today so that I can make the goal weight by my 40th bday. Maybe you can help me find a way to get there. We're all in this together after all.
Love,
SoCalFatGirl
Socal,
Welcome. Over the past 12 months, I have lost 67 pounds using the tools and resources found here. I have great faith in this place...and you cant beat the price! Dont hesitate to ask questions, make yourself comfortable, and develop a few accountability partners along the way.
Best of luck.

I wanted to drop a line and wish you good luck!! congrats on your decision to become healthy! I think you've found the right place. I've learned a lot in my few months of being here :) I still have about 30-40 pounds to lose, but I'm confident I can do it now that I have the right tools.
I wish you all the luck! :) (and welcome!!)
My ultimate goal is 60lbs too, hopefully by May of next year. I'm 21lbs down so far, 49 to go!
Good luck & if you have any ?'s don't hesitate to ask. Some one will have the answer!!!
Welcome to the site... I just started a few weeks ago and im already seeing results.... I am learning so much and I have to admit i am totally becoming addicted to this site... just reading and learning about foods, excercise ect... Unlike you I have NO culinary skills... the closest i come to cooking is my crockpot :) Perhaps you can share some healthy reciepes ;)
Good luck with the journey im sure that if you use the tools here you will 100% meet your goal.
Good luck!
Sincerely
A
Congrats to those who have already lost some weight..it's nice to see! I hope this site help me as well. I, too, have 50 pounds to lose. I had myself on a 1200 calorie diet but I found out that 1450 on this site would be enough (?) I think it might at that too since I won't feel deprived and start binging. I'd love to offer my support to any who need it and to receive some in turn when I feel like slipping. I'd love to be in the "maintain" category this time next year!
Hello all!
I joined CC yesterday...so I am a newbie! But I am amazed as to how much support you folks give. Losing weight isn't easy to do but I have a feeling that by being part of this community it will be a battle I'll win this time around! Thanks in advance for all the support.
Cheers,
Isabelle
Just be careful with such a low calorie intake. You will have to consistantly stay with that count even after you lose it all. Your body will go into a starvation mode if you are not taking in enough bulk per day and when you do it will store all it can in fat. As long as you eat a lot of healthy low fat, low sugar foods you should be fine.
