I have been struggling with my weight for about 10 years. I don't know what happened??? It feels like one day I woke up and I was over weight! How did I let this happen?! How do I find the power to make the changes within myself to lose the weight?
As you can see I am frustrated. I know what I am suppose to do, I know what I am suppose to eat, I know that I am suppose to exercise, I know about portion control, so why is it such a problem. I am angry at myself for losing myself. Is this what happens when you are married with 5 kids all boys, 4 that are teenagers and I work fulltime. My stress level at times is through the roof. I feel as though I am being pulled in 10 different directions and have no time for me.
How does a mother learn to say "NO" I need time for myself when my children need me? How do I say "NO" without the guilt??
I started the flat belly diet two weeks ago and have lost 5lbs. I know that is good but why doesn't it feel good?? In these two weeks I have only found the time once to exercise.
I can understand your frustration. While I don't have children and am not married, I'm also struggling with finding the time. I'm trying a new tactic, so I don't know if it will work yet or not, but I offer it as a suggestion to try. Instead of "finding" the time to work out, you should "make" the time to work out. I'm scheduling it in my calendar, just like any other appointment. Instead of calling it "exercise", I enter it in my calendar as "Dates" with my new self.
As for the guilt part - think of all the good things that will arise from exercise. The endorphins will make you happier and less stressed. You will be more healthy, and will have more self confidence and energy to do other things. Don't you think your children would want their mom to have all these things? Don't think of it as something you are taking away from children, but rather something you are GIVING your children. I'm sure your children love you and want you to live a long, happy, healthy life - and you can offer them that by exercising and keeping yourself healthy.
Just my 2 cents. Good luck. ![]()
You are so right!
I think I am going to try your idea out and schedule "dates" with myself. Thanks for the encouragement!
