Hello!
I recently found this site - what a great place! I've had 3 kids in about a 4 1/2 year span and I am tired of all the extra weight. At 5'10" I got sick of weighing between 242 and 236. - In January, my husband and I both decided to change our lifestyle - eat healthier and incorporate daily exercise in our lives.
I started at 240, I am now 232 - so 8 pounds in a month wasn't too bad but I must admit, I didn't really step it up until around the last 2 weeks of January. Motivation was tough to find ![]()
My husband, on the other hand, started at around 260 and weighed in yesterday at 238!!! We are going on a family vacation to Disney World in April - we both want to weigh 200 pounds by the time of our trip. Nothing like healthy competition, right? LOL
I have become a bit obsessed with exercise and counting calories though. I am on the treadmill (which is brand new - we love it) usually 2 times a day for about an hour to an hour and 15 minutes. I walk about 5 miles and burn 1,000 calories each time. I started just using the treadmill once a day for almost an hour and would burn 700 - 800 calories. I also go to the gym 2 times a week and do some light lifting.

Welcome! This really is a great sight huh? I found this sight about two years ago. Decided I would try the "counting calories" thing, googled "calories in an apple" and it led me to this. Ever since I found this site I have learned so much about healthy eating. I have fallen off the wagon a few times, but have successfully managed to loose 50 pounds. Only 15 more to go! I wish you success!
