Hi there!

I'm new here....or rather, an old member re-worked. I was a member last year starting at about 170lbs, worked on it for about 6 weeks and fell off the wagon at 159 pounds.

I'm back again though, and "for real" this time. I no longer have a sit-down job where I sit and graze all day on rather unhealthy foods that I got out of the vending machine, and I have a bit more willpower. I'm also not stressing about it like I was last year (I was prepping for my wedding, with alot less time and a much lower goal) if it happens when I want it, yay...if not, thats ok too :)

I'm 24, and 5'4", looking to get down to 130. I started last week at abou 164, and am already down to 157. Not all of that was "real" weight though, at least 4lbs of it was water weight thanks to TTOTM and I gave up pop (Soda/Coke) so within just a few days I was under 160. Now I'm down to a fairly regular crawl of weight loss.

My "goal" to be down to 130 is August 15th, just before our yearly trip to OBX. At a rate of 1.5lbs a week, I should be able to be down to 130 just before we leave :-D

Once I hit that point I will switch to maintainence mode to STAY at that weight. I can't believe how many calories I was ingesting...I was also an over-eater, a bored eater, a social eater. My life pretty much revolved around food. I was able to eat an entire Tombstone pizza in one sitting, and don't even get me started on fast food. Now I'm doing several small meals a day, still tweaking my system each day to stay inside my calorie range :)  I cut out ALL junk food...no candy, cake, cookies, etc. I think the craziest snack I have is rice cakes from Quaker Oats.

It's nice to have a forum to talk about dieting, because most of my friends on my personal blog aren't necessarily that interested. Either they are already skinny, or have failed in their own weight loss attempts and just don't want to hear about it. At least here, everyones in the same boat and can celebrate/commiserate with eachother!

Welcome Back and Hello for the first time from me because I am rather new myself (I joined in Feb, 2007).

I like your goals and you have put together a good program! You're young and now is the time for a new start as you start your new married life together.  I have a daughter just a year older than you and I am a dog person, not a cat person, but I can certainly relate to some of what you have said!

I wish you all the best!
Our goals sound the same, I was 169 or 170 Jan 1, 2007.  I have dieted 3 times in the last few years, this is the 4th.  The three other times I failed, the most I got down to was 150.  This time I am doing something different and recording EVERYTHING that I eat and keeping a heads up on my calories.  My goal is 130, I am 140 right now, 10 pounds to go, so I know you can do it to!! I'm not there yet, but I am giving all my fat clothes to the charity so I can not gain the weight back, I am much more determined this time.

And you know what's bad?  Going to work and not one person saying, gee you look like you lost a lot of weight.  Can't figure out what's up with that, but the size 9 speaks for itself :)
cperrywebrat, 30lbs in 3 months?! Thats impressive! Was that with your calorie-count dieting, or did you do anything else?
Hi! You guys sound right in my range--I'm 24, 5'44 and at 160s too. I'm down to 158 now, and hopefully still going! I'm going to add you as a friend!

Goodluck to you all!
