Hello everyone! I am a newbie here and am pretty excited about getting in on community events, etc. I really enjoy knowing that I am going to be able to receive support from others who are going through (or have been through) the same thing I am going through! Hope to get to know some of you real well!

Welcome!  You will definitely find support here, it's one of the best features of the site!  Really nice people are all around, and are always happy to answer questions, lend an ear, etc.

good morning, kj! in your profile i see that you hope "this will be the time" that you "remove" the weight for good!  i can tell you that there's a very good chance that it is.   first of all, this site gives you all the information you need, second, you get to make all the choices yourself, so you "learn by doing" and third, you have a LOT of supporters and friends who will share their experience, and cry with you when you are frustrated, and pick you up off the floor when you are down, and generally share the journey with you.  so, welcome!

I started at 7:00am this morning. I read an article in the Oprah June issue about writing down all of the food you eat. They said on average a woman adds 1000 calories a day without even really thinking about it. That was me. The mindless eater.

Now, I'm very overweight and I don't recognize myself anymore.

I would love lots of encouragement. I start strong and then lose momentum.

well yes and no...if you are hungry you should try and eat something.  do you have some Oatmeal in the house?  Oatmeal fills you up, good for you, and low in calories.

also vegatables are great snack food too! I know how you feel, my stomach can be a endless pit as well.

I am new here too!  I used to work in social services- resigned in May because I was so burned out and exhausted that I could NOT eat healthy or lose weight AND take care of my kids at the same time.  I am working out and eating right full-time until I feel healthy enough to work again.  This is an INCREDIBLE LUXURY, I know, and I am grateful for it.

Glad to see you here.  I am looking for some weight loss and exercise buddies, let me know if you are interested in supporting each other.
Well, I am mainly trying to lose fat and build stronger muscles. I want that toned and lean look really....
