This year I made a promise to myself to wear a little black dress on new year's eve. Do any of you have a new year's goal? A weight or an outfit you'll like to wear on that special day, and what are your goals for the new year's.

My goal for this new year's is.... To stop the cycle of diets.. AKA Lifestyle change.

My goals are:

Lose weight, of course :)

Pray, before bed, when I wake up, when I can. I will I feel better mentally, and praying for better health will pay off :)

Keep saving! My husband and I saved 700 dollars last month after paying EVERYTHING and enjoying a couple nights out, so I want to do that again, for as long as we possibly can. Realistically, I want to try and save at minimum 500 a month.

Finish school. I'm almost finished, but i'm trying to learn rather than speed through it, so I may take a little longer, but by the end of this year, I will be finished, I swear it!

find a better job. That's it, if I don't, I definitely won't lose weight because the people around me are so nonsupporting and misrible, and there's food..EVERYWHERE!

That's it! =D

  1. Get down to 110 pounds.Smile
  2. Fit into a size 2/4 jeans if I could I would really love that.
  3. Get my drivers license and pass drivers ed.
  4. Keep the weight off by totally changing my eating habits for good.
  5. By summer to wear a cute bikini.
  6. Wear size small clothes in general.
  7. Save some Real money up to move out of my moms house, I am 18 and I think it's time for me to go anyways, as long as I have the $ to do it, lol. :p
  8. Do more yoga to tone and strengthen my non existing muscles.Tongue out

Yeah those are my goals for now until I change them, I will change them once I conquer them.

What a great idea for a forum post! :]

Some of my goals include- [I stole some from other people. Lol]

1. Make healthy eating and exercise a lifestyle change, rather than a quick fix.
2. Get all A's and B's in my college classes.
3. Get at least 8 hours of sleep a night.
4. Stretch before and after work outs.
5. Control my stress and the attitude I get when I'm stressed.
6. Be happy with myself, even when I make mistakes.

Good luck with your goals everyone!

To be truly committed to my health in 2009. Last year i was down to under 250 for a while (from 308 max), and am back up to 300 as of this morning. I am diabetic, arthritic, and miserable. I turned 60 in November, and feel like i'm 103 today! I can barely stand up and waqlk across the room. Enough is enough. 2009 is the year i figure out how to reasonably and sanely steadily lose a reasonable amount of weight on a regular basis. I honestly feel like it is do or die.

1)  Go to the gym at least 3 days a week, alone or with a friend.

2)  Stop skipping breakfast/lunch, eat balanced meals... even if it means waking up earlier.

3)  Drink 4 bottles of water a day.

4)  TONE TONE TONE!

5)  Start putting a percentage of my pay checks into a savings account.

6)  Try to do a bit of yoga every day.

I think my goals are going to echo a lot of the others that have already been posted:

1-Make a life style change...I have been dieting off-and-on since high school...since I'm about to finish grad. school I figure it's about time I stop!!!

2-Make better financial decisions.... I've had a really hard time with money this semester--like, when I pay bills I;ll have like less than 100 in my account.  I also need to save up for a new computer and would love to just travel around (but I don't have the money).

SO those are the two big goals for now.

This is my first post.  I hope, in the new year, to . . .

1) break some bad habits, like drinking sugary soda (no more pop for me as of today, unless it is diet) . . .

2) increase the amount of water I drink and fiber I eat . . .

3) pay off my student loans (this should be done by Dec. 2009) . . .

4) lose 50 pounds . . .

5) and take more time to relax, spend time with my fiance, and focus on de-stressing my life.  :)

My goal is to stop being miserable.

  • To have atleast gained 1 lb
  • To not worry so much about eating unhealthy
  • To make a goal in soccer

Hi everyone. I am just new to this site but am glad that I have joined...

My goals are to start to live a healthier lifestyle meaning to stop eating food that is not good for me.  I am going to eliminate all but one carb a day and vow to eat more fruits and veggies.

I would also like to be more frugal with  my monies and pay off my LOC by the end of 2009!! It will be tight but I know if I put my mind to it, it can be done.

I am going to put the money that I would spend each day on a Tim Hortons coffee into a jar (along with my partners habit) and see where we are in a years time...I am certain that it will add up!!

I wish everyone a Happy New Year and heres to some great focus in 2009!!

Hi there..

I'm new to this site, and am so excited I found it! I, too, am tired of the endless dieting cycles. I have been thicker my entire life, and am finally ready to get my lifestyle on the right track.

I am applying to join the SLPD academy next December. In order to do that though, there are several physcial tests I must surpass, and I must fit into a specific size category.

I hope to be 40lbs lighter by May, 2009. I really pray that 2009 brings good things for me, especially a stronger will.

I'm going to start logging my food again - every bite, every day - beginning Jan 1.  It's time to get back on track!

lynnhaslost,

My reward for losing weight will be a new wardrobe....the one I already had, but is now folded up in the "too small to wear" box.

I have some cute clothes in that box, and I resolve to wear them again this year!

Enjoy NYE night in your little black dress!

I like this idea of goals..

mine are:

- Lose about 15 lbs by my birthday, July 13

- Learn something new

- Be successful in my spring classes

- Not be influenced by my friends.

- Try not to allow the little things really bother me.

- Pay off my credit cards.

- and lastly... BE HAPPY!

For new years 2009,

... I want to get out of the plus size section of fashion bug. That would make me ridiculously happy.I'm also graduating this year, so it'd be nice to have more clothing options for once.

Be more active, especially since my new job will have me running like crazy.

Copied from my journal entry today:

1.)  I will start and complete the C2K program before the annual Santa Shuffle 5K in November.

2.)  I will reach my goal weight of 148-150 by September 24, which is my birthday!

3.)  I will enroll in college and begin taking classes ASAP (summer semester if any I need/want are offered).

4.)  I will start a savings account for the first time in my life!

5.  I will set budgets for DH and myself and follow them through so that we can both learn wise money management.

Wear a size 14 (Australia) pair of slacks for New Year's Eve in 12 months time!

When I started this journey on January 1st, 2008, I was a size 20.  Now, January 1 2009, I'm down to a 16 (though they've gotten a little snug over the last few lazy months!)... a size 14 for January 2010 would be heaven!!!

If I can do it by my birthday in August that'd be great - but I'm happy to give myself all year - slow and steady little steps....

For January, I'm focussing on fluid intake, fruit and vegetable servings and getting enough sleep.  Come February, I'll be settled in a new town and will join the gym and a walking group (the real estate agent invited me to join hers).  Once gettign enough exercise, water, fruit, veges and sleep are a habit for me then I'll start counting calories again in March.

my goal is to not east fast food the entire year! it is going to be so hard, haha. my other goal is to lose weight, tone up, and look good before senior breakfast day (where the girls wear little white dresses) and prom :l.

my goal is to loose 30 lbs

1) to work out 250 times this year (this includes the gym and Roller Derby)

2) to work out for 7500 minutes this year

3) to lose an average of 5 pounds a month until my goal weight of 135lbs

4) to get out of debt by sticking to a budget and paying down debt

5) to stay out of debt by not buying anything I cant pay for right away
