1. History with weight loss:  I have always been a trim person - but then I've always counted calories. Right now I am 8 months pregnant and have gained 50 pounds! I know not all of this is baby weight so I am now taking some sort of control of my diet to make it easier on me when I finally give birth, I'll have a little head start on weight loss by not gaining any more weight!!  This is the first time in my life I've been able to eat anything I wanted and I'm going to pay for it :)

2. History with Calorie Count:

I have just joined but I've always used it to get calorie estimates before I was pregnant.

3. Reason for joining this group:

To seek the knowledge, wisdom, advice, and support of other expecting and new mothers.

4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests:

I work for a large finance company. It's pretty boring. This is my husband and I's first child. We are having baby boy. We live in Little Rock, AR and are near my husband's immediate family. We have one dog - his name is Titan and will have an adjustment to not being our first baby anymore.   My interests are food, friends, family, reading, hiking, biking, running, and more!

Howdy from Alaska! I too am a first time mom. My baby girl turned six months old on Valentine's Day. I have one dog named Ayden and two cats. I used CC before I got pregnant to loose weight to get pregnant. I have an infertility called PCOS. The pregnancy went fairly well until the end. At the end I developed a rare autoimmune disorder that required me to take steroids for two and a half months after she was born. I too gained a great deal of weight during the pregnancy, but it was coming off after her birth until the use of the steroids. Don't beat yourself up about the weight. Make sure you are still eating the right amount of calories for being pregnant and eat healthy. It is important to keep in mind that the baby can't use established fat as a source of energy. Only the food you are providing him now. You can focus on loosing weight after he is born. Congratulations! Enjoy every minute with him because it goes by fast. I can't believe my baby girl is six months old!

Florida here.  Congratz to both of you on your babies!  Laughing

1. History with weight loss:

I have an under-active thyroid that wasn't diagnosed until I was in my teens.  Went through the stigma of being a chubby girl even though my mother always had me on a diet.  She's ana.  In high-school I turned teeny tiny as I was used to eating very little & exercising constantly but now my thyroid was regulated so the weight dropped off to the 100s.  My weight crept up after a car accident that almost killed me & that was my 1st real diet (at 25).  I was in the middle of normal & healthy right up until I got pregnant with our 1st child.  My second diet was after the birth of my Son this past June.  I had gained 32 lbs by the time they induced me.

2. History with Calorie Count:

I joined after the birth of my son to get dieting tips as I'm not very knowledgable at dieting in a healthy manor & while breastfeeding you can't take shortcuts!  My motivation to workout - which has been strong all my life & right on through my pregnancy dropped off after the birth.  SO TIRED!  Still trying to reignite it.

3. Reason for joining this group:

I didn't manage to loose all the weight from my 1st pregnancy by the time my son turned 8 months.  Still have 12 lbs left & now I realize I'm pregnant again.  I need to maintain / gain less / do it slowly & healthy.  My mother is back in close proximity, to help care for my son god bless her, & I need support.  She's the same woman to made fun of my weight & tried to taught me to go on a diet at 7 months pregnant.  lol

4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests:

I work for a large IT company in finance.  It's a great place to work & I like most of the people.  I'm a dork & I love learning but sometimes this technical reading I have to do on laws is dry like white toast & I have a hard time keeping my eyes focused.  Work 9 to 10 hour days with some Saturdays.

My husband & lived here in Jacksonville by ourselves until the birth of our son (June 08) which is when my mother picked up & moved from 1300 miles to come help out.  Our families visit often; well my side does anyway.  We have 2 dogs - mixed breed.  Kind of remind you of Jay & Silent Bob personality wise. lol  We have a wonderful adopted church family, very old fashioned religion but a very modern group of wonderful people.  The Mommy & Me Group is probably the highlight of my month!

This isn't anything like I thought my life would turn out to be but I LOVE IT!  Just not always in love with myself / body.

Congrats on the pregnancy! I admire you. It does take a lot of energy for just one little blessing and now another one on the way.  I think you should just focus on eatting healthy. Your body has just went through a lot and now is going through it all over again. I am amazed at what our bodies are capable of doing.  Personally, I don't feel that pregnancy is a time to try to loose weight. It doesn't mean you shouldn't watch what you are putting into it though. If I can offer any support or just be a ear to chat to, please feel free to do so. Once again congrats and good luck.

Congrats on your pregnancy!!.. I, too recently gave birth to twins in October, two boys, they were the largest twins born in my city. I have 3 other children as well, two girls and a older boy. I thought it was time. I as well would like to focus on healthier eating for my family.

Being a new mommy again, is such a blessing. So congrats once again. Laughing
