Hello,

I've been using this site for several weeks and it is one of the best dieting tools I've ever had.  As a 60 year old I need to not only shed pounds, but balance nutritional needs to combat cholesterol and blood pressure issues. The information under the Analysis tab is has made me think very carefully about what I put in my mouth and what nutrients have been missing in my diet.  My doc just told me I have a zinc deficiency.  How would you know that?

Also, I want to share that I went on my own crash diet about 18 months ago.  I lost 25 pounds in several months, which doesn't sound excessive, but the way I did it was.  I paid no attention to how much protein I was getting and developed a serious B-12 deficiency - quite serious.  I have to give myself B-12 injections now.  I also started losing hair.  Lack of protein and required nutrients is very serious, expecially for those of us nearing the end of the Summer of our lives.

I checked into the group becuase I grew up in NW DC and miss it terribly.  I lived in Maryland now (northern Frederick Co.) but will always be a Washingtonian at heart.

Anyway, best of luck to all with the weight control.

Hi

I 55 yrs old this year and want to lose another 20 lbs.  I need to control my portions and make sure that I eat a balance diet each day.  What I found  out about myself is, I will work and forget to eat and when I eat I will over eat.  Not only do I over eat, I will eat the wrong foods.

I grew up is SC and love to cook and eat good food.  Last year I lost about 30lbs under a doctor care.  From last year this time I have gain 9 lbs that I do not want. So I am at it again trying to lose the weight, but this time with the help friends  and support group who's trying to do the same thing.
