Hi :) I'm new to CC and new to this group. I'm from the Boyertown area (outside Philly about an hour). I'm 33yrs old, married and have a 4yr old son.
I've been struggling with my weight for years now. I never had a problem as a child or teen. In college I started birth control for the first time and gained 60 pounds?!?! No one was believed me when I said it was the medication....I was taking a shot every 3 months, and each time I went I was 20 pounds heavier. (thats what you get when you go to a clinic) The 3rd shot I said I was done, after the damage was done. During that time my blood pressure started to go crazy too. As the weight kept up, I just got more and more depressed and blamed myself for letting it get this way.
Having my son at 29, I was the highest I ever was at 245. When he was born I was just disgusted on how I looked and felt. Plus I had this amazing little boy!! I HAD to get healthy again!! I worked out at curves and did weight watchers and lost approximately 30 pounds. Last summer I started walking each day and got myself down to 190. I started to slack off...and slowly it krept up again to 205.
I joined CC in October with the determination to really get moving again after I saw pictures of myself from a family vacation. I'm down to 199, and have set a goal of 150. (dream goal would be 130s again!).
I'm just looking for some support friends that are going through the same struggles.
Congratulations on breaking the 200 barrier! It was such an accomplishment for me when I did that 3 years ago.
The up and down is natural. I was 240 - got down to my lowest 179 - now I am 190 and am doing the 8k marathon in 11 days!
You can do it! Stick to what works!
You got my support if you want it!
Keep up the good work. It will pay off in the end, soon enough you will be doing a lot of active things with your son.
Just remember that he will look up to you and learn by your example, your good eating habbits will be handed down to him and he will remember his fit/cool mom!
Take Care
