Hello everyone - My name is India and I'm 36yrs and from the Bowie area. I'm joining for the support and motivation gained from others.
I don't really know how much I weigh (haven't been on the scale in about a year or so) but I KNOW I'm over the healthy weight limit. I believe I'm around 168 to 172 since my body looks similar to when I weighed that much. For my height (5"6) I should weigh within the parameters of 143-150lbs, and boy I wish! Most people don’t think I’m over weight by looking at me and they usually think I’m crazy but I know what’s under my clothes and I am one who knows how to hide very well. I am truly NOT comfortable in my own body and know I need to take action.
I have two kids (both in good shape) and a husband who is also way over his healthy weight limit and we want to be successful but neither of us stops the other with negative food choices. We are sticklers for pleasure and sitting at home with a great movie with a great snack is on the top of the list as pleasurable for us along with going out to eat. The good thing is that we’ve made great progress in choosing to eliminate the “whites” and going for the grains and wheat products (pasta, bread, etc.) and we do buy lots of fruits and vegetables, but we are "terrible" with the snacks; mostly CHIPS and big bags of them. I also believe that we over eat and are not cognitive of our portions and so calories are just adding up daily. Also, the lack of “consistent” exercise is an added factor but we do plan to join a gym at some point. For now I’m just trying to be consistent with exercising at home (on demand has some great and free programs) but keeping it a routine is hard to do sometimes without the push.
I’m really hoping that you’ll can help to keep me motivated and on track.
Many blessings,
-India
