New guy here, 19 pounds.
Hi Stanley! Here's some advice from Bubba -
Our diets are controlled by the nameless ones. It's up to these beings to give us what we need. Mine measures out my food using a little scoop marked with a strange rune - 1/3. That's all it gives me and I must be satisfied with that.
She gets to eat anything she wants, ofcourse i watch what she eats, but shes always running around being hyper, catching her ball in mid air and chasing people like a doggie..so she'll never have to go on a kitty diet

Jasper say woof ruff ruff RUFFF!
(edit to translate: Jasper be your friend, but only if me can bark at you. It give Stanley exercise! LOL)
Silver and Scouty say meowmie is mean and she won't give us treaties any more cus she says 16 pounds is TOO FLUFFY! She changed our food and gives us GOOD stuff bud only a little bit every day and we haves to share with the Tessinator.

The diet kibble didn't seem to help the girls to lose weight even when I rationed them to one cup a day between the three of them... they'd eat it and yowl at me for more whenever I went near the food cupboard! So I upgraded to a higher protein kibble and add 1/2 Wellness Core (it's EXPENSIVE!) and we'll see what happens. Since I changed their kibble they don't yowl at me in the morning any more, so they're obviously more satisfied. Sometimes there's even kibble left in the bowl when I get up!
Here's a tip from my wonderful vet - don't feed in response to crying. Feed at the same time each day, only once a day, preferably in the evening. If you feed when your cat is crying, they think that's the way to get food. If you feed at the same time, they associate the time with food.
Bubba nibbles at his 1/3 cup of dry food all night, finishing it around mid morning. His favorite right now is Friskies Indoor Delight. He won't eat any of the diet foods. The only other thing he gets is a Friskies hairball remedy treat about 3 times a week, and a tartar control treat once a day. I put that in his bowl with his food.
awww- Stanley youre so cute! good luck with the diet :)
