hey! i'm also a high school runner. i love running, and i do cross-country and track. what events did you break records in?
The 1500m. I also run the 800m, but not quite good enough yet....
nice! i run the 1500 and 800 as well, but i'm not breaking any school records. i'm more of a middle runner, as long as i score some points and don't come in last, i'm happy. what are your times?
hey! i ran track last year and I ran the 1600, 800, 4x800, and once the 3200. my best 1600 time was 6:22 and my best 800 was 2:51. not so great!

Those are still good times...

1500: 5:35

800: 2:40?

Those are my best times ever! I hope to PR this season... would either of you like to be loss partners?

mine are 1500 - 6:17

800 - 2:49

yeah, sure i'll your loss partner. im 5' 6 and about 140, want to get down to like 125

Hey, I'm a xc/track runner too, but I run mid distance usually. My times:

400- 66 (but I was injured...)

800- going to do this this year, I was too injured last

1600- 5:43 (again injured)

5k- 21:59.9 (but they logged it as 22, stupid people)

oh yeah...

5k: 25.59.54?

3k: 15:00?

nkn_runner16 i would think that you time for the 800 is probably better than 2:40! i mean you put a question mark so you must not know exactly and if you hve 5:35 on the mile, you probably ran it faster than that. those are really good times!! our best runner who wins like everything runs around 5:17 i think so your really good! sure i'd be your weight loss partner but i don't really need to lose, in track last year and i lost 17 pounds and i went from 5'4" 125lbs. to 108lbs. so if you have any questions or need support just ask!! :)

Hmm.. let me see.. go to this site: http://theonlyoneyoucangoto.wetpaint.com/page /My+Running+Log

Check out the "My _______ results" Those are my times so far in H.S.

My records were made in Jr. High, so that is why they aren't up there....

looks like my 800m is actually 2:50 ish

so, what do you wanna do for weight partner?
I don't know.. just support, and how crappily we are doing.. since I started on this site... I have gained 3 pounds.. then again, it is that time of the month.. so expected, but I am getting really discouraged because I do really well until dinner... then KABOOM!!! There goes my careful eating for the day.. : (
yeah, same here. i do really well and have low cals during the day. but then when i get home & eat dinner, i eat way too much. it's very frustrating. i notice that if i go running when i get home from school or i  make plans to run, i eat less & stay motivated.

Really? I am never motivated to start running once I come home. That is why I usually run at school.. rain or shine. I had a pretty bad day today. 2412 Calories burned, 2381 consumed... why does ti have to be so hard! I even ate well until dinner.

Breakfast: Raisin Bran, Coconut Cream Pie Yogurt, Orange juice, Applesauce

Lunch: Bottle of water, cinnamon raisin bagel

Dinner: Split pea soup with ham hock, Grands Reduced Fat Biscuits, 1 glass skim milk

Desert: 1/4 cup Tillamook Mudslide Ice Cream, 1/4 cup Tillamook Vanilla Bean Ice Cream, little bit fo blackberry syrup, and a few chocolate chips

I do well at school, but after I run, I fall apart... gahhhh! Frustration!

it doesn't see to me that you had 2381 calories but i suppose you could. you cuold use somemore nutritional value. at lunch try having a half pint of skim milk, a salad with fat free dressing, somesort of sandwich(peanut butter is high in calories but has good fat and protein so if you aren't worried about calores then go ahead but if not try a couple clices of thinly sliced deli turkey or chicken with veggies on it) , and a banana, apple, or orange. you are only getting 220 calories at lunch, and this is just setting yourself up for a huge appetite when you get home and have access to more food. If you eat a bigger, more balanced lunch you will not eat as much when you get home. also make sure you are balancing out what you are eating for dinner. a tip is try getting a small plate or suacer and get very small portions of everything, this way it will look like you have a full plate, eve though it is just a saucer. for dessert, depending on when you have supper is different, if you have dinner earlier than 5, don't eat dessert. wait until later until like 7 or 8 and have a fruit or veggie or both. try having a banana or apple and have some carrot sticks. hope this helps!

i think weekends are my downfall. i do really well during the week, but then when i go out with friends or party, i eat & drink too much.
Thanks healthfreak.. I just might have to try some of your ideas. Snogirl.. I'm sorry! Maybe limit yourself to one party a month or something..?

i run cross country and do track year round so i know where you're coming from, and I'd deff like to be weight loss buddies cause i'm 5'4'' and around 115ish, and need to lose about 10 pounds

but thats besides the point. i've had a lot of counseling about nutrition, due to the medical fields my parents are in and such but i have a few suggestions.

1. eat the most in the morning, because you'll burn that all off and it will kick start your metabolism.

2. pack some healthy snacks to munch on during school ( orange slices, grapes, crackers, almonds, etc)

3. eat a bigger lunch! if your like me and practice right after school your going to need fuel to run.

4. heres a tip: eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a pauper

5. I LOVE ICE CREAM TOO. so i know how much it kills. try dryers half churned/double churned ice cream b/c it has half the fat and you can have more per serving. but cut that sauce cause it SCREAMS extra calories. and dark chocolate is the best for you if you love chocolate, like me.
