A new kind of group as in one that doesn't fade away. I see a lot of groups that form and then fall apart (I admit I stopped writing in one after not so long). I'm looking for a small group that are interested in natural weight lose. I'm just looking to lose 13 pounds right now, but any goal weight is welcomed. I think it would be nice to have some likeminded people to email and support each other.

A little something about me: My name's Amanda and I'm a 16 year old girl that's really into health for myself and the environment.  I like meeting new people, but I'm pretty quite (not so much online though).

I know there's a lot of groups out there right now but I'm hoping a couple of people might be interested.

Thanks :)

hey sImone! 2 days...lucky! I actually only have this week and next so its not too too bad.

So I just wanted to type this out for everyone to see so I could hold myself accountable.  For the last few weeks I have been doing way to much mindless eating and grazing so hopefully writting it in the morning and coming back at night to tell everyone how i did will help. Ehh kinda embaressing but here it goes lol

*no dipping my spoon in the peanut butter jar  *no having huge random bites of ice cream *if you have ceral for a snack don't go back for second and thirds *drink enough water *only stick to yogurt of popsicle for dessert *stop dinner when I am not hungry, not when Im uncomfortably full

Ill be back before I go to bed:)

Oh and tiny-bee- that school cooking thing sounds seriously incredible.  Im pretty sure my school doesn't have something like that but that really sounds amazing!!!

Great job sourapple for trying to hold yoursef accountable. I haven't done much mindless eating lately but i used to big time. & yes the school thing is awesome! so much better than staying at regular school.

Summer goals:

1. lose 15 lbs
2. work out a couple times a week
3. make new heathly recipies
4. save more money
5. gain some muscle

Well thats all i can think of for now ill probably write more later.

School is out tomorrow!! I am so happy. Next week I will be away at a youth camp for my church so I won't be able to update. Sorry guys! Anyone have any extra tips on eating up at my camp? It's not really camping, we stay in dorms and have a huge cafeteria to eat it. It was a full fruit and salad bar (usually they do), but I am really worried about the meals they serve. I can stick to cereal in the mornings, but I am going to be wanting some good carbs.

Summer Goals
1. Stick with my diet. I am really close (not really), but I feel better.
2. Work out as much as possible.
3. Save my money, make my own clothes.
4. Tone my muscle
5. Do some good hobbies like writing and drawing. c:

hello everyone!

so i don't think I did a bad job yesterday, but i definitely could have done better.  On the plus side, today has been going very well eating wise and I really think today will be the day where I actually do what I have been telling myself to do for the past few months.  Ill let you all know tomorrow:)  Oh and if anyone else wants to "keep them selfs acocuntable" on this forum I think its a really good way to make sure you complete your day how you want to.  Sinse i'm going to be gone for a month it might be hard to set a weight loss goal but the main thing for summer is I want to listen to my body food wise.  I don't want to eat small random things, instead I should just sit down and have snack.  I also want to not eat until i feel gross at dinner.   I just want to eat healthy, count my cals and not deprive myself to much until I get to a weight that I feel confident at.

What are your guy's plans for the summer? (both food/exercise wise and travel/social)

Hey everyone!

School got out today (woot woot!) and I just got back home from skating on the local path following the creek. It was amazing and I think I'll make it a daily thing. Except, the millions of hovering knats hitting my face could've gone to make things better. It was really fun and I burned a lot of calories.

My summer goals are to:

One. Lose weight. (that's a given. LoL.)

Two. Skate on the path everyday.

Three. Eat right && keep my portions small.

Four. Practice volleyball with friends.

Five. Maybe study?

Six. Go traveling.

Seven. Look good in a bikini finally.

Eight. Make money mowing lawns. (LoL. That's my weekly income.)

Nine. Have fun.(:

Ten. Stay out of trouble. (I have a tendency on being in the wrong place at the wrong time.)

Oh my gosh I love this group :) :)

Go sourapple! I really like that you are giving us behavior reports, that's such a good idea. The shame alone that comes along with telling everyone how you're doing is enough to do better the next day.

So I think I'll give one myself: Yesterday was Kennywood Day, which is when we have a half day and go to the amusement park. Well I was pretty good, for dinner I had a pasta salad but then my friend bought me this huge ice cream, which I've been regretting ever since I ate it. The guilt lasts much longer than the pleasure of eating it! And it wasn't even that good! But today I was better, I snacked on carrots when I was hungry. I went mountain biking in gym class and ran for 45 minutes tonight. So today is a prouder day.

Welcome to the boat Simone! I'm jealous you're done with school, I'm not even close to done.

Good for you guys for getting jobs. I've never had one before, I'm afraid I'll just eat all the time. is there anywhere you can work but not eat? I guess being a camp counselor. Yeah that's what I'll do!

Goals:

1. Be a camp counselor

2. Fit into prom dress! Prom is in a week. Sometimes my boobs are too big and I can't zip it. How embarrassing would it be if I couldn't fit on prom night???? I'm so worried.

3. For all of us to collectively lose all the weight we wanna lose!!!

4. Do well on final SAT's

5. Choose a college and get all the applications out of the way

6. Get my driver's permit -- also embarrassing. I've been eligible since last year but I failed the test and was too discouraged to ever try again. Get on that girl!

7. Stop smoking forever! I've only done it five times, but I started in March, so that's too much. It's so bad for me! I don't want brain damage! And it's making me fat. And today my voice teacher hinted that he could tell I've started. I like my lungs! So this is not helping me AT ALL!

MANTRA: Indulgence is only momentary and not worth it.

Hello everyone sorry i haven't posted in a couple days i've been very busy with school & my friends. I didn't count yesterday because i just didn't really feel like it. I made a awesome italian macoroni and cheese last night with chicken and garlic bread it was the bomb. I really love cooking.

I got to go shopping a couple days ago and i got a reallycute birthday outfit but i still need to buy my graduation dress but i wanted to be about 125 when i went shopping for one.

well tomorrow i guess were weighing in i dont know if i even lost weight this week. Probably not i haven't been doing to good the last few days.

Maybe ill update later about what i ate today.

Okay here I go: Weigh in #1: 139

Grooosss. I've been fluctuating between 138 and 139 for the past five weeks. I just wanna see 137 so that I know I can actually lose weight!

The good news is that I was able to zip my prom dress last night. T minus 6 days until prom. Time to get serious. I am going to run for an hour on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Indulgence is momentary. Indulgence is momentary.

When's your birthday Bee? It sounds like you had a successful shopping trip, I'm jealous. The last time I could barely fit into anything I put on, and the whole reason I was there was because I couldn't fit into my own clothes. So gross. So anyway what does your outfit look like?

I'd like to join too if possible!

Stats:

Highest Weight: 220

Lowest Weight: 194

Current Weight: 200

Goal Weight: 180 - 185

Age: 19 , Male, 6'1

alexa- My birthday is june 8th so its coming up very soon. I bought a pair of white skinny jeans and a flowy tank top tunic but its pretty dressy, & its light purple, blue and green. I also bought some white sandals.

Well since its weight in day

current weight:129.5

goal for next week: 127

But i feel like i've been doing so crappy the last few days not really counting and eating some bad stuff.

I did horrible these last two days because I had failed to update my Food Log due to my friend spending the weekend here and me being embarrassed if she were to find out.

I ate two very heavy dinners on Friday and Saturday, which I have to forgive myself for eventually. But I believe that contributed to me gaining 2 pounds.

Ahh, I feel horrible. But I'm getting back on track this week.(:

Current Weight: 134

Goal for Next Week: Lower than 132.

I'm working my butt off for sure.

Hey there. I'm Ellie, Kiki, Kiara, w.e. you wanna call me, and I just joined up on here today. You guys seem pretty nice, and I'd like to join your group too, if that's okay. (I don't really get these group things though, is there a newbie forum or something I could get pointed to? >.<)

I seem to have a lot in common with you guys. Your posts also seem like I could've written them. :p

A little bit about myself:

I'm 16 and 5'9. I like to eat fruits and veggies (cept asparagus and artichokes, bleargh), but I also LOVE chocolate and other junk, so that's mostly where the extra weight comes from. Luckily, I can't get junk very often, so it's not too bad. Vending machines are killers though. D:

My weight keeps fluctuating between 180ish and 190ish, and my weight today is 187. Ugh...that's gross. D: I have extra flab on my tummy, thighs, butt, boobs and cheeks, and I just want it GONE. I don't usually do much to watch my weight,  but I'm just sick of knowing it's there. So...I don't really know how to get rid of it other than exercising and watching what I eat, so any tips would be greatly appreciated. c: If I can get down to 154, I'll be happy, but 140ish would be nicer. :D

Highest weight: 195

Lowest weight: 176

Current weight: 187

Goal weight: 154 for now

Summer Goals:

1. Get. A. Job. Seriously, I've been wanting to get one for two years now, now's my year!

2. Lose weight (Heh. Kind of a given.)

3. Exercise. I don't exercise like, at all. Big nono Ellie. >.<

4. Watch what I eat. I wanna get this weight off not have it just jump back on!

5. Hm....I forget. Biut there is a #5, I just can't remember it. hehe....

So I'd say my goals are pretty reasonable, I should be able to fulfill them. c:

Whew! *wipes sweat* Looong post there! I'll update tomorrow.

My family's having a barbeque tonight, which should be fun. D:

Wish me luck!

-Ellie

Edit: Oh yeah, my school gets out in around two weeks or so, just so ya'll know. c:

Peace!

I'm Nikki, I'm 16. 17 in July. I live in Hawaii and have for the past ten years. I love to read and next year I'm going to be in business academy and a Junior.

I'm class of 2011, the lions.

I'm going to Georgia this summer and last summer I gained like 20 pounds when I went and my goal is to control myself and exercise and lose weight before next school year so I'll be pretty skinny when I start my new job if I ever get one.

I want to look good riding around in my new car.

: Believe me, I totally understand your desire to lose weight fast - who doesn't, right?

But the issue is losing weight super fast usually just leads to yo-yo dieting and a sense of failure in the long-term. This is because it is difficult to sustain a super-fast-weight-loss program, not to mention how unhealthy it is.

Calorie Count Plus's mission is to promote healthy and sustainable weight management.

A safe rate of weight loss is generally considered to be roughly 1% of your body weight per week.  For most people ~1-2 lbs per week is about right, assuming that you are not underweight to begin with.

Under a doctor's supervision many people do lose at a faster rate, particularly when they have a lot of weight to lose and the health risks of losing at a very fast rate are evaluated by the doctor against the risks of being overweight.

You can look like you've lost weight when you actually haven't by working on developing muscle and eating healthier.  Muscle takes up less volume for the same weight and most people think it looks sexier.  Eating healthier tends to give your skin a nice glow which makes people think that you've changed something in a positive direction.

Oh yeah, I added ya'll. :)

So today was....not fun.

I woke up at 6:00am like I usually do, but this time I went for a run.

I only ran 8 minutes and almost died. (not literally, but still)

This is horrible! I used to be a pretty good runner, but I stopped running for cross country and track two years ago. ugh...

I also tried that thing (not sure where I saw it...) where you eat a non-processed food product the size of your hand every two hours, and it worked out pretty good, till lunch time. See, sometimes there's this lunch lady who walks around the cafeteria handing out extra pizza that they didn't sell at lunch, and my school's pizza's really good. I wasn't going to eat any, but it smelled so good and looked so good....I caved. I wound up eating 3 pieces. *hides under books*

So all in all, I did not have a very good first day. >.<

Welcome to Calorie Count and this group.(: Well, at least you're taking a step forward, and that's better than nothing. Sure, 8 minutes doesn't sound like you should be earning a gold medal for your efforts, but soon the 8 will turn into 9, then 10, 11, 12 and so on. And about the pizza thing, I won't lie--it's good. Just forgive yourself and remember that tomorrow is a brand new day. That's the philosophy I live by. LoL. Cheesy as it is. Just don't get to the point where you're forgiving yourself 24/7. There has to be some effort being shown. xD You seem funny, too. Let's be friends.(:

*Trying not to sound creepy in any way, shape, or form. >.>;

lol, you don't seem creepy. xD

I do have a question though, is there an actual group, like a little "Join Group" thing or w.e.?

Haa. Good then.

And no, not really. We just come to this thread and post our weights and stories and whatnot. No little "Join Group" button. Maybe Passion-Fruit should make one... But there are a lot of other "Join Group" buttoned groups you can join.(:

Yeah, I've joined a few others, including the Harry Potter one. :p

She should make one though.

Ya hear me Fruity?! Go make a "Join Group" button thingie!

Heehee...xD
