I just bought a new lean cuisine called Linguine Carbonara and it was sooo yummy! I know they're high in sodium, but they keep my cals low and fill me up. This one is a creamy pasta with bacon and peas in it. mmm mm mm

I never buy those lean cuisines, but might start to keep my cals a bit lower.  Do you mind giving me the calorie count and sodium count on that linguine?  Also how much does a typical lean quisine meal cost ?

it has 300 calories and 590 mg of sodium. I bought them at safeway today for 4 for $9 but usually I buy them at Winco for like $2.00. Other good ones are the chicken enchiladas suiza, red beans and rice, and tortilla crusted fish.

Sounds great auralay, thank you so much.  Yep, sodium is a bit high just like you said.  I'll take a look at some next time I go to Albertsons.  We don't have a Safeway here.  I'll see if I can find one or some that are lower in the sodium.  But yeah they certainly are low in calories!  Thanks a bunch and good luck to you!

you should try the shrimp alfredo one as well...really yummy!

I always use to eat lean cuisine for lunch wen I worked in the office.. they were cheaper than eating at the local shop and they kept me full and kept my cals low.. the sodium never affected me coz i made sure to drink plenty of water.. and if anything they definately aided my weight loss before I got the hang of making my own low cal healthy meals... i havent had a frozen meal in a long time but winter is coming up and so I think I might stock up!

My fav was thai green chicken curry with rice.. but they were all yummy!

The the poster above, all lean cuisines have the same amount of sodium in them. It's calculated to have roughly 25% of your RDI in one meal. Which is a fair bit, but not enough to make them seriously bad for you (I had a can of soup the other day and it had my ENTIRE salt allowance for the day in it! And of course that was far from the only thing I ate that day...) One good thing to do with lean cuisines is to add an extra serve of frozen vegetables into them when you heat them up. It dilutes the salt a little and raises the fiber, and makes you feel full for longer without a lot more calories.

Thanks for the info kajikit!  Yeah, soups are heavy with salt.  I try not to eat soup much because of that, but I do love it!  I really appreciate all of the information on dieting because I add it to the knowledge that I already have and it makes dieting a bit easier, the more you know.  Thanks everyone!
