hi all, my name is lynn, i,m a 38yr old married mum to 3 teenagers,i live in the midlands in england,i,v been overweight basically since i met my hubby when i was 17yrs old, he had a car and walking or cycling went out of the window,back then i was 10st 3pounds, but i always thought i was fat,but never enough to think of dieting,so now 21 yrs later i,v hit 324pounds,yes very obese.i will say at this point that hubby is also overweight and as never ever once said a word about my weight,i,m doing this for me alone,

2 years agoi was 17 half stone,(due to marraige problems,all sorted now)and could get into a 26 jeans,and i thought i was well on the way to losing more,but its slowly crept back up to this,so tuesday this week i started cutting down,my problem is, there are so few veggies,fruits or salads that i like,basically, its onion,potato,cauliflour,pickled beetroot,peas,oranges,apples and bananas,, oh and tinned baked beans,so i cant fill up on all the good stuff, and in my opinion i,m not on a diet, i,m just cutting back on all the stuff i do like,

a typical day befor was not eating a thing till maybe 8 at night then stuffing maybe 2 garlic butter kievs,10 croquette potatoes,and a tin of baked beans in me,, then going up to bed fit to bursting,dont get me wrong some days i could eat all day on and off,so now i,m sticking to 3 meals a day,  2 toast with marmite for breakfats,,4 crispbreads with philidelphia light and a banana for lunch and then before 6 in the evening,maybe 2 tbls mash potato,half tin baked beans and 3 fish fingers and maybe an apple, ,,i try and work out the calories, and most days i,m under 1500, but is this enough, cus i honestly dont feel or need any more to eat.

so i,m really looking for some help,motivation,i have such a lot to lose,i,m just consentrating on losing maybe 2 stone at a time,any loss is good, i,v started going to the gym 2 times a week too,taking it slow to begin with though i,m not inactive, i can still walk miles withought exhausting myself,i,v just lost the feel good about myself feeling,itsnot nice being the fattest person in a room,,plus were off to spain in july and no way do i want to ask for a belt extension on the plane!there are just so many things us big people have to cope with and ultimatly its our own faults,but,now i,mm trying to do somthing about it,, so please please,, tell me your stories, your tips, i wanna know how to get through this,

Congratulations on the beginnings of a new way of life.  Your are lucky you can still walk without problems, I find it difficult.  Keep using the counting calories and walk, walk, walk.
welcome to calorie counting!! i hope you won't be shy about posting on the forums and in your journals.  and to create a profile, so people can get to know a bit about you. there are so many people here on this website now that your posts can get "lost" in the flood, but don't let that discourage you. i think it helps to add people as your "buddy" and ask them to do the same, so that you can see each other's journals very quickly every day.  that really helps to keep you accountable, besides being a good way to encourage each other, and offer tips, and so on.   and---- i think it's really fun to have friends from different parts of the world!
