New and looking for friends/support (18; college student; 120-130 lbs)

Hey everybody,

I'm relatively new to CC but have been doing HORRIBLY these past two weeks so I thought that it might be helpful for me (and for anybody else) if I could make some friends and gain some accountability partners who would be willing to do some weigh-ins with me and such.

I am 18 and am currently in college, studying engineering.  I am 5'6" and weigh about 130 lbs.  My lowest weight was 110 but my goal is to reach 115.  I know this sounds really low but I have a teensy (and light) bone structure...this is what comes of being asian.

I've found that much of my undoing has come from eating at night (especially past 1 am).

Everybody and anybody welcome!!

Thanks

Hi!

I'm also relatively new I guess, only been here for a month! I'm 19, and currently weigh 126, and my goal weight is 2 pounds more than yours, at 117. When I didn't diet or watch what I ate, late night snacking was probably my biggest problem. If I was up all night studying, or I just got home really late, I would also go looking for food in my refrigerator. Anyways, if you'd like support and a friend, I'm available!
Hi! I'm also new to this website, and a little older at 25, but currrently weigh 124, trying to work down to 119. I am 5'2". Do you guys drink alcohol? If you do, I found that by cutting out alcohol at night, I dropped a couple of pounds right away. I only ask since you are in college and that tends to happen with late night snacking.

I'm also offering support, especially since all three of us seem to be working for about the same goal.
I actually don't drink any alcohol, ever, anymore. I just lost all desire for it. Since alcohol has so many calories though, if you eliminate it from your diet, you should lose weight of course. And drinking less is good for everyone, not just those trying to lose weight.
Hey guys! I'm 19 5'8..in college! Sometimes its hard to be healthy

Hi, I'm 5'6 19 year old girl in college as well and right now I am about 132lbs. I've gained close to 20lbs since I've gotten to college and it has really difficult getting rid of all that weight because of my life style. I would appreciate any advice on how to get back to my normal weight considering I have a small frame and I'm starting to look awful in my very well designed closet.

Hi, I'm 5'6 and also 19 years old in college.  I am currently 124lbs.  I just joined CC tonight.  I am content with the shape I am, but know that my body and health could be better.  My goal weight is 117.  I just started a new plan of eating 6 times a day with days of cardio and 2 of weights.  I found this eating plan on bridalchalet.com on google.  I am just curious to see how this new plan will make me feel and if i will see any results.  I joined CC because I'm curious to how many calories I am consuming.  If anyone needs encouragment I'm available.
im 18..in college too...5'2" and 115...im going for 108...katieweb im assuming you have days that overlap in exercise meaning you do both cardio and strength training...do you do your cardio first or in the middle or last? im just curious because i read that "younger," "slimmer," girls like ourselves i suppose experience 2x the fatigue if they do strength before cardio...what do you think?
Hi, I'm 21 and in college part-time right now, and going  back full time in the fall.  I'm 5'6" and about 128 trying to get down to 120-123.  I only need to lose about 5lbs but it's very difficult! I work full time in an office so I can't help that I mostly sit on my ass all day.  I've been looking for a group of people about my age and size so I'm glad to have found this!
hey!! im also 19 and about 5' 3" and am naturally quite althletic in figure, however sice coming to uni ive put on about a stone!!

im currntly doing about 30-45 mins of cardio every morning plus general walking in the day, was wondering how long it is before people start seeing results? also is there anthing else i should be doing?
i'm 18, yr in between highschool and uni--starting in the fall. i've been fluctuating between lower 120's, mid 130's, but haven't really weighed myself in a bit, trying to wait as to not get so discouraged by constant changes. i know im down some inches though at the least.

i try to workout 6 times a wk, cardio, 30-45min, but sometimes things get in the way and i'll miss a few days. i eat between 1300-1400 cals now, but for a long while i was eating 900-1200. i try not to count cals religiously anymore, but at the same time i haven't really found anything to substitute it. i'm just trying to find a way to get down to 115. i'd like to maintain in between 115-120. oh, i'm 5'4. short and sad :|
i'm 19 years old, about about 5'5" and also in college. i just started this website a couple weeks ago to try to lose the last ten lbs by counting calories. I currently weigh about 128.6 and my full goal would be at about 120.

I do work out about 5 or 6 times a week. i do about 45 min of cardio and then about 15 min of abs each of those days. and then about 3 days i do some strength training on my arms especially.

BUT, im finding it hard to eat enough calories each day. i usual end up around 1000 calories and i dont want to be starving myself because i want to lose fat not muscle. I tend to eat low calorie foods all day long and then by nighttime i haven't reached the 1200 minimum and im not sure whether i should eat to fulfill that need or not? any suggestions would help.

im here for support  and encouragemnet for anyone.. if anyone wants to do a weigh in with me every week or something.
This website is amazing!
I'm 19, 5'3'' and at about 116, and I'd like to be 110. Seriously studying at night has been my undoing, for both my weight and my posture! I've been pretty good about counting calories since I've joined though, it makes you really conscious of what you're eating. I gained my freshman 15 from 105 to 120, now I'm down a bit from there. I exercise every day, doing high impact karate, then some cardio and weights.

I'm definitely here to offer support, cause I know what you mean! We should definitely start an accountability thread for the kids in college!

hey...im 18 almost 19 and i gained the freshman 15 but I was at a Military Academy so most of it was muscle, but eating meals geared to guys didnt help at all.

Does anyone have good advice for slimming down not just weight wise but I want my feminine shape back?  Im currently 149lbs. and 5'9" and I would like to get back to my 130 Body I had as a junior or I could even deal with 135

HELP
I feel a little weird. I am 5'2 college student wanting to weigh 120. 120 for me is a really good weight because I am really muscular and have a medium frame. I am not a petite 5'2 er XD And as far as my goal weight goes, I am more looking not at specific weight, but when I am happy with how I look because muscle can affect weight a lot. If I weigh less than 120 (and I have before) people thought I was anorexic because of my build. You could see all my ribs XD

hey I realize that my post is a little after the fact but I would love to join your support group. I am a 20 year old college student about 5'6" and 130 lbs. I'd like to get back to 115. Is anyone interested in maybe keeping in touch and just exchanging daily calorie intake and exercise info. I think if I know someone else is reading my intake and all that I will be more restrained and motivated to stick to a healthy diet. by the way how much are you guys eating and exercising a day?
Hi! I'm about to turn 20, 5'8", 127 lbs, and my goal weight is 125 lbs. It's not much more, but they're so hard to lose! I need to do better about exercising, so any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thought i might try and revive this again!! Right, we;ll i am now home for the summer and after trying to detox a little after my constant university drinking i ahve lost a little wieght.

What kind of exercise does everyone do as i am desperate for ideas that are effective, and that will tone me up!! as with alot of girls my stomach is quite a problem area!!

My stomach is a problem area as well. Some girls are blessed with a flat stomach, so that even when they are overweight, their stomach is relatively flat. Mine is the opposite. I do crunches every morning and so now I am toned on the inside, however, I haven't even lost a cm on my waist, so without touching my stomach you'd have no idea it was muscle. I do work out at the gym with my boyfriend, and that's also getting me more toned. No inches lost yet, but that's to be expected since I'm eating like 2000 calories a day (my job causes me to snack a lot). Good luck!
