I am new and looking for a weightloss buddy needing to lose 40 pounds!
Hi am am new to this community and I would really like to find someone to buddy up with to lose weight. I have been carrying around an extra 40 pounds for many years now and now that I am done having kids, I am ready to be back in shape.
My name is Joy
I am currently 159 pounds
I would like to be 120 pounds
I am 5 ft 2 in
Mother of 3 girls
I would like to find someone or maybe a group of 3 women to hold accountable and be held accountable. I like to encourage and be encouraged. I have tried to do this on my own and have had no luck. Anyone interested?
Hello! My name is Michelle (5"4, 151 goal weight 120) I have a two year old son and I have finally decided that the baby weight has to go! I have only been calorie counting for about a week but so far I am really motivated. I know that I will be needing some encouragement soon. I would be happy to help you out with a friendly shove in the right direction.
My first step was to clear my house of tempting treats and it has worked. I have discovered a few low calorie snacks and meals that not only fill me up but taste great.
Hi Michelle! Nice to meet you! I am glad to find some people in the smae boat as me. I have received replies from 2 other ladies and was thinking maybe we can start a group. If not I am fine having this be one on one. I have have a 11 year old, 2 1/2 year old and a 5 month old.
I have tried just about any diet out there! The liquid, atkins, detox... My problem is that I can't stick to one. I end up screwing up my diet somehow and then I end up over eating the things I couldn't eat, maily desserts and sugary things.
I restarted the calorie counter thing last thursday and I am doing well. I am trying to take it a day at a time. I have been sticking to a limited meal/ snack plan and exercising 30 mins a night. I seem to be doing well.
The most difficult thing I am facing right now is being tempted to eat the same things the family eats at dinner. I have to cook seperate meals since my family wont eat what I eat on my diet.
I am currently eating:
Breakfast:
6 oz. blueberry smoothie
1 serving honey bunches of oats
1/2 cup milk
Snack:
1 cup popcorn (fresh not microwaved)
Lunch:
1/2 cup rice
1 serving organic lentil soup from trader joes
Snack:
1/2 cup blueberries
Dinner:
salad with chicken
Hi!
I am also in need of a friend to encourage me. I am 5'4" and 166 lbs and I wear a size 10 (for the most part lol). Its just me and I don't have any children yet. I have a great boyfriend, who I hope will propose within the year. So, i definitely need to get fit fot the big day. However, of course, he loves me for me and hates the thought of me losing too much weight. I maintain a busy life as a practicing attorney but basically sit on my butt all day at the computer.
Workout:
i live in a small town with not many extra curricular things to do for losing weight, like dancing which i absolutely love!!!! So, i hired a trainer for twice a week and i am attempting to add more cardio into my day.
Diet:
i am keeping my diet under 1500 calories. i am great on the weekdays. The weekend is my problem. i live 60 miles away from new orleans where all my friend live. drinking and food are a big part of our social lives. For example, this weekend i ate about 3,000 calories in one sitting due to the huge strawberry margaritas and the cheesy yummy crawfish quesadillas from Superior Grill( A must if you ever visit nola). I know i will probably never give up drinking altogether, but i hope to stick to wine and loc cal vodka alternatives.
My Goal is to be a solid size 8 maybe even a six if i get on a roll. I don't want to be skinny just fit and happy. Hopefully we can make our own little group to update each other on our progress.
Good luck to all of you, and if you need encouragement, you know where to find me!
Zita Marie.
HI! I am 5'0, 159 lbs and am wanting to lose 40 lbs as well. I have a 7 month old baby girl and I want to be able to chase her around (and look good doing it) haha. I have never been this big, the biggest i got was 147lbs. I normally weight between 115 lbs- 125 lbs. I am petite but have big hips and thighs so even though I am only 60 inches tall I consider my build medium. I would LOVE to lose 40 lbs in the next 7-8 months but if it takes longer then so be it. I have already lost 25 lbs in the first 6-7 months after pregnancy. RIght now i am at a stand still (can't seem to lose) but I just joined this site and am watching my calorie intake so I should start losing again. I workout usually 3-4 times a week. I've been walking with the stroller, doing squats, lunges, and plies but now I've decided to start sprinting, jumping rope, push ups, abs, and adding some weights in to my routine. I don't just want to lose the weight I want to look fabulous again! My routine (started it today) is throughout the day doing 3 ~ 10 minute workouts (abs, weights, jumping rope, and pushups) plus going to the trail for 40 minutes (to get my cardio in) 4 times a week. I need my agility back so I can jump and run around without hurting myself. Please email me (anyone reading this). I want others to be my support system. I NEED IT!

Hello,
I'm also looking for a small support group of people with similar goals. I am currently 178 lbs. My goal weight is 158 lbs., which is what I weighed at my wedding 7 years ago, and I felt great. Right now I'm squeezing into a size 14, but would love to be a size 10 to 12.
I have a 3 year old son and an 11 month old daughter. With both pregnancies I put on over 50 pounds! I've managed to take most of it off, but am struggling with the last 20 pounds.
Just like Zita, I also have a problem with the weekends. I tend to drink and over-eat when I hang out with family or friends. For some reason I associate this with having fun and relaxing. Does anybody have any advice on how to curb this bad habit??
Melanie
Hello, I'm also looking for a small support group. I currently weigh 147 lbs, and am 5'5, and would very much like to be back to 125 lbs. (I have NEVER had a weight problem until about 3 years ago!) I have two kids but they are now high school age. It's so frustrating..... I began putting on the weight when my mom was first ill, and then I began working at a desk job and put on 25 more pounds! I know I don't get enough excersize, but it's so hard to find the time as now my dad isn't doing so well and needs me a lot.
I think about my weight every minute of the day... I don't want to go anywhere socially, and I never ever buy new clothes any more as it's so depressing. I've been trying so hard to lose weight, and I do pretty well during the day, but evening comes and I get so hungry that I think I'm eating too much, even though it doesn't seem like it at the time. Every morning I weigh myself and it's the same! I'm getting frustrated and I hope having a weight loss buddy might help!
Jenny
Hi guys, I'd love to join your group too. I am at the heaviest I have ever been, which is 160 (I am 5'3) and my goal is 120-125. I am 24, and have no kids. I was rear-ended in January and unable to exercise so I put on 15 lbs. I am getting frustrated because all of my clothes are not fitting anymore when I am going to work and I can't seem to lose weight. I joined this site and have been really motivated so far, and am doing 1200 cal/day. I had a hard time Sunday and Monday staying at 1200, but today I finally got it!! And was able to have more than just salad for dinner!
I also try to walk to work and have been on the elliptical machine everyday as well. I only started on Sunday, so I haven't lost anything yet. Still motivated though!!
My weakness is sweets and anything sugary! It is so hard at work as there is always a full candy dish that is so hard to resist, but yesterday I turned down donuts that someone brought in, and that was a big deal for me!
I am looking forward to getting to know all of you. I hope this group of girls can really motivate us all!
Kristy
Hello ladies,
Seems we are all in pretty much the same boat. I am mother to one 2 year old boy and having gone up to 203lb when I was pregnant (horror!!) I am now back down to 160lbs but with a height of only 5ft3 this is horribly overweight! I started calorie counting yesterday and have just found an exercise channel on sky (I am in the UK by the way) where they do pilates, high heels work out, cheerleader work out, yoga etc etc. I am going to try those and cancel my gym membership as I never bother to go. As I have a cross training machine in my garage I have no excuse.
I had a cesarean with my little boy and I also breast fed which means that I have a kangaroo pouch stomach and saggy boobs! NO amount of crunches and work on the stability ball seems to be working.
I will weigh myself next wednesday to see how I have got on.

I have not had kids but due to meds I gained 30 lbs in 2009 and 20 lbs recently after heart surgery

The online calculator said I nee to consume 1200c/day to lose 0.5 - 2 lbs/week. for ~6 weeks I have been striving for 1500c/day and losing ~3 lbs. /mo. However I just had a set-back and am back to 175.6 ![]()
My prior buddy attempts did not materialize because they have not kept in touch. I am motivated to work with a new buddy.
Interested? Let me know cat
I agree. When I first posted this topic in search of a support system it started out strong and then everyone just seem to fade away. I am still motivated to working hard and losing the additional pounds I need to. I have lost 13 pounds so far but I have much more to lose. Lets start an email group in which we can chat and keep each other accountable or we can just continue to reply to this post. Let me know if you guys are interested and I will initiate it. Glad to know that all hope is not lost in finding a support system!
I am definitely interested. I have had such a hard time during all these summer get togethers. I've actually gained a few pounds in the last few weeks. But I am more determined than ever now to get off these extra pounds. I've had a really good day today and I'd love the support to keep up the effort.
aldenjoy & melanano
thanks for coordinating. I am definitely committed to the weight loss and a buddy system. Cat
Hi Everyone,
Looks like Joy has found more than 3 people. If it's OK I'd love to join your group. I am surrounded by skinny people who don't have children and every time I complain about my weight, they keeps saying "but you had a kid" as if that is an excuse! I'd love to meet other women who are in the same boat as I am. I think some support would definitely help on this journey!
A bit about me.
My name is Christine. I'm 29 years old and a high school teacher on maternity leave. I am 5 ft 3 and 169 lbs. My target goal according to CC is 124 lbs, but my personal target is 129 lbs. I don't think I have been 129 since grade 8. I had a baby last December. My baby is now 9 months old and the biggest joy of my life (despite the stretch marks and flabby belly he left me with!)
I am trying to get in some decent exercise but without much luck. Right now, I am only doing about a total of 2 hrs walking/day with Luke in the stroller for exercise. My eating habits since Luke was born has been horrendous...lots of chocolate bars, carbs, rootbeer and bacon double cheeseburgers. I think I should try working on my calorie intake first, and once I get that under control, I will try to introduce more exercise. Does this sound like a good way to start?
I'm looking forward to getting to know you guys!
HI aldenjoy, melanano and christinedionsio,
After three weeks of falling off the wagon in response to poor health stressors in my family, I am ready to commit to REcommit to losing weight. iwas losing 1/2 pound/week without exercise due to feet injuries that I hope to have resolved by the end of October. 1500c/day is what my goal is since 1200 was too difficult.
I am 48 y.o., live in alexandria, VA; used to be a very active and athletic gal; no children...I'd like to get my plantar fasciitis resolved so my feet can handle resuming tennis etc. including the elliptical; however, I know I can start the loss rolling by sticking to 1500/c/day and stop eating sweets. I am starting my detox today (from sweets). If I have a sweet one day then I want it every successive day like an addict so I cannot eat them at all - which once I detox is do-able.
Any way. I am back on the train! Good luck!
Cat
Hi Catnipster,
Good luck! I know it's so hard but I'm glad you are recommitting. I don't know how many times I've fallen off the wagon and getting back on is hard work!
Have you considered swimming or aquafit for some exercise. I've had knee problems (nothing as painful as plantars facscitis) and I found swimming was a great way. I started at setting tiny goals for myself, like 1 lap, then hot tub and managed to work my way up to 8 laps in 3 months! I was so proud. If you don't know how to swim, there are also lots of other water based exercises. there is one where you have to wear a flotation belt and basically try to run laps in the pool, amazing workout. Aquacise is also good but I find not a huge workout (but better calorie burner than the other option like...slow paced walking or sitting around thinking about the exercise I can't do!)
Good luck!
Hello,
I'm a newbie. My name is Artese. I'm a wife of 8 yrs & mother of 3 (a girl-6 and twin boys-5). I joined this site today. I would like to lose a large amount of weight (20-35 lbs). I've been working out off and on for years. I have hypothyroidism, so it's very hard for me to lose weight.
These past two weeks, I've been working out again, daily. I had to stop once my herniated disc flared up and I couldn't walk. I'm back to normal now. I'm trying to stregthen my lower back and abs. I think this weight loss would help my lower back problems improve.
I tried ridding my home of sweets, but it's hard b/c I bake cakes on the side and I recently made 3 cakes/cupcakes this week for 3 clients. I had left over cake mix so I made my family some cupcakes (24). Unfortunately, I've eaten a few
. I just can't stop the sugar/sweet cravings. Cupcakes/cakes, Pepsi & Iced-T are my kryptonite too. HELP!
