Hello,

Well I found this site looking for the calories in my chicken caesar salad I had for lunch, and Poof! Up came this site that lets me keep track electronically, with graphs and blogs, and forums.  So I joined.

Well I have never been a dieter, and since leaving undergrad school where they had fun exercise classes I have been steadily gaining wieght in a matter of 2 years I have gained about 60 lbs.  I kept eating the same and stopped working out, then i started eating junk. PB Twix, chocolate everyday, making desert, with every dinner.. and still not working out.

So last year I did a crash diet 1500 calories, and I was STARVING.. then I quit smoking cold turkey on top of that.. so Yes I failed miserably.  Now I have been trying to eat well, a little bit through out the day that way I don't feel like I haven't eaten in a million years.  I also joined a gym.  But I'm still gaining weight, so now I decided I had better keep track of all of those little snacks.  THus why I joined.  There is a little about me, so now I will read a little about you! :D

Hey!

My name is Molly, I just joined too. I know what you mean about the snacking thing. It gets me too sometimes. You would not believe how much those little snacks add up to before you know it. My main issue is midnight snacking, well actually midnight, 2 am, 4 am snacking. It sucks. I can frickin kick it! I can do so well all day long and I kill it at night. Always. If I could keep my big old butt in the bed I would probably be skinny! I also would probably feel better because I would be getting more sleep! I dont really have any gyms close to my house but I am very good about getting on the treadmill 4-5 times a week, and I do callenetics 2 times a week. I need to lose at least 70 pounds. I am 220 lbs and 5'8".

And you know, for me its not midnight snacking .. its eating after I get home from work, I will be below 1,000 calories when I leave, then once I get home I consume another 1,000+  its like an after work binge, but I genuinly am hungry.  So tonight I am going to try eating dinner earlier, then if I still get hungry have some mini wheats for a snack... hopefully *crosses fingers *

OMG, I have to tell you - if you have not yet tried the new chocolate mini wheats they are to die for. They are loaded with fiber and the fat and calories in them are completely acceptable. I love them so much I just eat them plain with no milk. If I don't eat supper by 6:30 i get that out of control feeling when I finally do eat too. I had a horrible meeting at work today, it wasn't fun - and on the way home I had this major urge to stop at Marie's candies and buy all the chocolate in site. I had never really considered myself an emotional eater but maybe I am. Good to know i guess.

Yeah it is good to know maybe  you should keep a baggie of them around for a bad day that way you can reach for for the chocolate mini's instead of chocolate.. :D
