new member!
im 19 years old and have been struggled with being overweight all my life.. I dont seem to have the motivation of what i need to do. now that i live alone im a bit nerveous but at the same time excited. I need to stick to it!
i plan on loosing about 100 pounds..
Im in second year of university and in a very busy course- photography very hectic. And i had a roomate last year but i dont this year
If you struggle with motivation, be more organised instead. When you're doing photography I expect you spend 10x more time setting up the shot, getting the lighting right and the exposure right than you do taking photos. It's the same thing with weight-control .... do the groundwork properly and it makes life easier.
If you're 19 you're lucky because your body uses up a lot of energy already. So to lose weight you can start by simply eating better food rather than less food. Better foods..... vegetables, grains, meat/fish, oils, dairy.... are more satisfying because they're nutritious. So you naturally eat less when you have a better diet. Have these foods around you .... setting up the shot.
Second... remove the types of foods you don't want to eat for now from your environment. If it's not there you can't eat it. Take a big rubbish bag and go through your cupboards, fridge and freezer literally getting rid of all the junk. It's not only a practical exercise (setting up the shot again) it's also a very cathartic exercise psychologically... out with the old you, in with the new you.
Once you've got the basics in place you'll find it easier to eat well than to eat badly. Once you've done that for a while you can work on calorie-counting and an exercise programme.... but there's no need to swing into that immediately. When you're 100lbs overweight, small changes for the better will make a big difference to your weight.
