Hi everyone,

today I joined calorie count. I had a long journey of 15 years behind me being overweight. Sorry about my english. It isn't very good. Its still my "school english" 11 years ago...:-)

Hopefully I can find friends here to join me and give me some support and good advices.

I am now 30 years old and my weight constaantly goes up.I could not find a way yet to loose weight and stay there.I  go down and then I go up more than before. What I really need is support in being more disciplined. My friends surely support me, but they do not really know what it is all about. Most of the time they say it does not matter how I look like inbeing overweight.

So I decided to join in here to get to know to peple who are in the same situation.

hey, i think your english is great, actually, and your writing is just as good if not better than many on here who only speak english haha.

i have a good friend from poland who came to the states in 1986 and still to this day feels self-conscious of her english skills. she refuses to email anyone and asks me to do her writing for her. trying to get her to write her own letter and such is impossible!

welcome to CC!

I am much older than you,  but I know exactly what you are going through.  Like you all my friends tell me that I look great, because I am quite tall and my additional weight doesn't show as much as on a short person, but I know that when you double your size in two years it is not O.K.  I don't even want to go out because I feel so bad.

I have just joined this program  approximately one week ago and I totally love it. I think I might make it this time.

By the way, I am German also.  We immigrated to Canada from Goppingen when I was just ten years old.

Good luck!!!!!

Welcome to CC. Dont worry about your English...it is just as good as that of Americans, and gets the job done :) it is really quite good in fact. well congrats on your new lifestyle and feel free to message me with any questions or concerns!!

thank you chrissy1988.I still have to go through this program and get to know what it is all about.but thanks for the supporting so far.

And yes indeed, the main thing is not to have perfect english, but everyone can understand what I mean:-)

Your English is wonderful. I always wanted to learn German. I love the way it sounds. I would love to be supportive of you :-). I'm just doing 1500 calories a day and trying to be as active as I can. I'm recovering from a knee injury. I'm not sure if I'm losing weight but I freak out when I go on the scale so I've been avoiding it.

Welcome!!!

Hi tanaleealves,

thank you very much.I think english sounds very good...:-)But I think you like the most what you aren't used to...

I started with my normal calorie need. For my activity and weight I need 2400 calories per day.I learn not to go over this line.Every day I write my calories into a diary. In the past I reguarly go over it,nearly 4000 or 5000 calories.I don't really know...After 2-3 weeks I want to reduce my calories about 100 per week,to reach my first step of using 1800 calories per day.I think this is totally ok.

But I have to work on a daily activity routine. In the past I used to have many excuses like work, weather, mood etc.

What does your daily calories look like? What do you eat during the day?Do you have a plan?

I eat every 2 hours little portions,i've read this is good to stay on a level.

I love to hear from you!

Hi,

I eat a lot of airpopped popcorn and grapes during the day and then I have a somewhat balanced dinner and I always have ice cream at night. All I want to eat are little kid foods. Since I was always chubby I never really got into the habit of eating three meals a day. I just figure if I keep it around 1500 a day I won't baloon up or anything.

What do you like to eat?

Hallo Tanaleealves,

wie geht es dir?(It's not the sound but some german for you!)

I eat 2 portions of Cereals (40 gr with low-fat milk),2 meals noodles or rice with vegetables or chicken (250 gr) 2 portions of almonds (20 gr) and a portion of tomatoes and cucumber (100 gr total).I eat this during the day every 2 hours. Not every day is the same, sometimes it differs in the vegetables and instead of the almonds I use to have fresh fruit. But in total not more than 2400 calories per day.Just as I said before I will take my calories down week per week, but now I start this way to get used to it.

This works very good for me,because i'm not starving for sweets as before.I feel more balanced.

Tschüß,Christiane

Sounds like you're being very sensible. I love cereal too. Let me know if there's ever anything I can do to be supportive of you Cool

I love sweets too, especially schokolade. The German special is cool.

my boyfriend was stationed in germany when he was in the army in the late 80s-early 90s and can still remember some.

i like him to speak german to me because i think its really hot! i have no clue what he is saying either. he could be saying "those pancakes look delicious" in german and i would still consider it to be foreplay. haha

How are you doing Engelchen?  Are you having any success.  I fell off the wagon somewhat.  Am still not gaining any weight back, but am not losing any either.  It's my own fault, I was to lazy to go on the webside daily and enter my food intake, etc.  I am going back to getting serious again.  I have lost a total of 10 lbs in 6 weeks and I know I can do better.

Hope you are doing better, Eribal
