Hopefully I've done this posting thing correctly :)

Hello all! My name is Melissa, I'm 28 (soon to be 29 in Dec.), and work for a cardiac event monitor designer and distributor. I've been overweight my entire life, and working in this environment and seeing the effects obesity has on the heart has really made me want to make some changes in my life. Not to mention, I want to start having kids with my boyfriend in the next year or so, and I'm just not healthy enough to do so right now. These are my motivators to join this group and get some help.

My biggest problem is portion size, however I do tend to go towards the fried catfish rather than a salad when I dine out. I think I have a ton of problems that have led me to lead the nutritional life I lead, and I hope to get some pointers from all of you.
